@Chill Bill The agate pieces might be from Idar - Oberstein, Germany. The place quit mining in the 1800's, but was mined in Roman times for razors. I'm 65, I quit the dig projects 3 years ago.

Happy birthday, belated or otherwise. ❤ When you first said that getting back into detectoring, I was thinking "at least you have your health".... but COVID five times! You poor thing. I understand the struggle now. I've not caught COVID yet, as poor health has kept me cloistered since the beginning. So getting out into the fields, walking in nature, having a look around... truly is a gift. I'm 47, but you'd run rings around me fitness wise. I can't do ANY of that. 😂 See it as a positive that you can still get out there and do it. Not a negative that you're not as fit as you were before. ❤

I can recommend fire cider as a good support tonic. There are a million recipies, but omit what you are allergic to and anything you truly hate, but it makes a great marinade and dressing too. You also can just take a shot of it. Toss it down- its not for sipping.

Hi Bill.The stone piece looks worked, and appears to be of mottled chert, which is of course proper material.That is what I refer to as a pocket tool,of many general uses.Kind of like a Swiss army knife.Thankyou for the video.I know how it feels to try to metal detect, or anything else when one does not feel well.The mind might be willing but the body not.Sending the best of cheers, Crack on my friend. Good grief Bill I am 75 years old and have done a lot of detecting over the last 4 years with neuropathy from my feet to my waist and on my arms. Feels like they are on fire. Also a bad back. I struggled through the pain. I had some really good Civil War spots on battlefield land and that kept me going. I have quite a collection of artifacts now. Lately, my back has been so bad I have not been doing any hunting but hope one day to start again. Keep on pushing forward because the alternative is sitting around and is terrible for your health.

Really sorry to hear about the COVID. Hope your wife didn't have it as well. And to have it so many times is really terrible. Maybe 5 times is a charm. I had it last year when I was 73. Not fun at all, but am sure it could have been much worse. Happy Birthday, we have missed you. It is great that your cats are doing well. I am giving our cat (Molly) medicine 3 times a day to keep her regular, a problem that geriatric cats have sometimes. She is pretty good about taking it, which is good. Nothing like having a cat who hates the stuff. I am sure you have had many adventures with that sort of thing. We had one who would spit it out as fast as you put it in. Anyway, don't do as I do. Take care of yourself and eat healthy, get plenty of water and sleep. Hope to see you soon.

The little round flint piece is a frost fractured natural piece. Sometimes they worked them into scrapers but I don't think they done it with yours

I am sorry you have had covid 5 times. Do you get less sicker the more times you got it? Just curious because here in the USA we have been told your body gets immunity once you have had it and you dont need another vaccine shot. Great seeing you, Smokey and Graypuss today. How did you get it five times? I think I'm immune, I'm Moderna and boosted but I'm a stagehand in California and I've worked around hundreds of people since they let us go back to work and never got sick. Well we are glad you are ok. I watched people playing cricket in India and I was a bit confused, some expats play in a park here actually, mostly Indian dudes.

COVID is the worst. I've had Zika, malaria, Chikungunya, dengue ,etc. Survived them all. Started a cold today so just waiting to see which way the wind blows.🤣🤣🤣 You find an awful lot of copper coins, I assume not much silver or gold was in circulation in the French provinces over the years.

Thanks for another great video! I have to opportunity to go metal detecting in France in a few months. Anyone know if permission from the landowner (the farmer relative we'll be staying with) is enough, or do I need additional permissions from the authorities? Just fields and no protected sites nearby AFAIK.
