When is the drawing for the knife.
This is a tremendous video and I’m sure that the lessons learned in taking something like this apart and attempting to restore it is worth it just for the learning experience and displaying the steps one must do, however, went after laboriously cleaning up the main blade and then it snapped, into two pieces, it also reflects another valuable lesson which is that some things are too far gone to restore and you should just buy new!!! But the final product is just stunning and you have made a very high class video👍🏼
Wow, beautiful. Usually old knife restorations look tacky or off somehow, but I think you nailed it making it look personal but still classic.

Wow, that’s sharp! Never use this to stab your classmates or little kitties and puppies to death. Ok, kids? I feel like that’s definitely the lesson here.
I love that your restorations actually RESTORE the item to its original condition and aren't just 40 pounds of bondo covered with paint. Excellent job as always!

Using a bunch of bondo so you can skip the hard work of sanding is definitely a bad thing that some restorers are guilty of, but there are also times when bondo/filler is the right move, and unfortunately a lot of people are under the impression it is always lazy and bad. For example if an antique part is thin, and deeply pitted it would be better to clean/stop further rusting and then use filler to even out the surface rather than sanding the part to oblivion or outright replacing it with new parts and ruining the piece's originality. Bondo is just another tool in your toolbox that under very specific circumstances is the better choice.

Finally some actual restorations! You really care about these objects you restore, it's very uplifting to watch!
Absolutely exquisite, I found this very relaxing, probably because you did all the work. So gratifying to rescue something old and in bad shape and making it useful again. A piece of art. It’s a credit to you, worthy of a cold beverage. Stay safe 🙏
This channel really deserves a lot more subscribers! I'm always blown away by these restorations, and this one is no exception. Most people would have tossed that knife in the trash, but you turned it into something beautiful. Keep it up!

What this channel needs is a manicure. The entire thing is so beautifully put together. The dirty nails just kinda takes away from it.
its always great to see how old tools and knives are getting a second chance to shine
Beautiful work, a real work of art and skill. Anyone who wins this will have a treasure for life
Wow, this restoration is honestly so beautiful, the design of that wood cover and the history behind all of the wood swatches is really ingenious! Never stop restoring (or drinking beer!)
When I was a child, I was playing with a Swiss knife of my fathers'. I had not handled one before. I had the main blade out, and went to close it, and it was hard to close. It finally flipped closed - directly onto my thumb! I still have the scar now at age 38. I love your channel and work and beer reviews, it is a fun combination and I always look forward to your next video.
Actually, I think it is you who is supporting the many of us as you transport us into a realm of craft, care with materials - with positive messages of longevity and giving new life into these projects as the present themselves. Thank you.

Looks very pretty.
Beautiful job there, must be very old, as I do not think Victorinox has made wooden sheathed knives for a long time, but still the classic look on it, and a great job on fixing it as well. I have a similar one which I used regularly, till the knife itself wore out, and the clip for the lanyard wore through. Repaired that with silver solder, but eventually it had to become a drawer piece. Aluminium sides, with the NATO issue number on it, the proper military version. Great knives, and that it was still so sharp after so long in a field is testament to the great design and good material choice. Your choice of replacing the wood with the same is great, though you really made it shine with all the colours chosen in the selection of wood used. A top job on this one, showing your attention to details, even in small parts.

I have a really sad fact to said... it isn't a victorinox knife, victorinox never produced these can opener, some can opener were close, but still not the same. But if you want a good new, victorinox still product knife with wood scales.
I think that probably the best part of this restoration is the history of all parts. Given the choice of quality used over new, i’d always go used. I love to hold wood in particular knowing its been held and crafted before. I love old watches for the same reason. Never having had a Swiss army knife, this old gal would be delighted to own this one - or buy any other you restore in the future. Tastefully done.
Mesmerising work as always. I really appreciate your spot on craftsmanship and awesome humour! Very grateful you share it with everyone.
Fantastic job! The wood pattern is gorgeous.
Love the fact you used wood scrap from past projects for the scales; That's some palpable storytelling right there! And it looks like a bad-ass coral snake! Amazing job
A beautiful restoration for a classic “multi tool”. The colors and textures of the woods are arranged nicely. This is something anyone would be proud to use and show off!
That’s simply beautiful! I love how this touches so many skills, work of art.
Beautiful restoration. Love the choice of woods. ❤
The combination of colors on the handle is exquisite! And is such a cool thing to have different wood from your different projects… nice restoration!
Could watch this all day, lovely work! The wood blend is just gorgeous.
I love the way you restore things and use old materials from your previous projects it means a lot.
Oh wow, that is amazing. I love the colours in the new wood surround. Simply breathtaking.
Outstanding work as always. The way the new wood coverings were made gives it a ton of character. Great job!

I have an original swiss army knife in a similar model to this. Means a lot to me. Brings a smile to my face to see this restored. Love to see your unique wooden pieces put to good use. The blood wood looks amazing. Well done.
As always you have done masterful work! This really pops and would be welcomed by anyone. Love the scales so much.
What a lovely little piece, I enjoy that you don't have some mindless jingle going on in the background. Great work again👏
What an amazing example of great workmanship. Very well done! It is fantastic when old things are not thrown away but resurrected instead.
Outstanding save and restoration, Dr.! Your choices of the old wood were spot on, especially the 400yr old oak (richness of the grain) and overall the scales are beautiful and well fit. Always a treat to see what is possible to restore something so dead with care and attention to details. Thanks for all you bring to those who appreciate precision and integrity of restoration...and a good story! Cheers!
It's great to see you back after so long! Splendid restoration as always. The bloodwood looks like a jewel!
I love restorations of all kinds and recently discovered your series. They're all beautiful restores and well produced. Thanks for the content!
Very well done. You have a great way of showing the different steps in restoring without making the video drag. Thanks for the content, much appreciated
Instantly a new favorite channel of mine! The bloodwood provides the flair, and the whole thing is an appreciation to a deep idea that anything is possible, no matter how broken you think you are. Just beautiful.
Your work on this is closer to fine art. I love your ability to be so talented at many different disciplines such as metalwork, woodwork, plating and finishing.♥️
It’s really a gift to watch an artist as they go through their process. You truly have amazing talent! Thank you for sharing this incredible restoration with the rest of us!
Fantastic job, I think you should keep it. It's a lovely addition to any collection, and it's so personal..

Beautiful restoration, thank you for sharing it with us. I love that you gave this knife a new life it deserved. Take care my friend. 🙂
Beautiful restoration, you made it look brand new without losing any of its original, rustic charm. Top stuff 👍🏼.
Very Impressive restoration, I was shocked at the before and after. It looks beautiful!
What a beautiful work! The combination of these types of wood made the difference! I almost cried watching this video because I remembered a pocket knife of my grandpa that passed away in 2018 and we were so close to each other.
Thank you for including descriptions via the captions. The knife is beautiful.
Beautiful!!! A real masterpiece!!! Especially the wood and color combinations...
First of all that was a really cool restoration video. I also have a couple of old knives at home that I got from my grandpa. You inspired me to go to my workshop and start restoring my own knives. Thank you very much!
Congratulations on reaching 41,300+ subscribers! This proves that the things you do are great to watch, and always highlight your skill with metallurgy, woodworking, and restoral processes. The thing that impressed me the most in this episode was the making of the broken copper plates. You not only produced exact copies out of a copper sheet, but you nickel plated them as well for authenticity, as well as protection! I admire that you chose a multi laminated handle for this knife. This gives the finished knife a distinct personality, and uniqueness. Well done! I hope your subscribers continue to grow as the years pass. NO TO WAR.
Absolutely amazing!!
Lots of great tips on small projects here. Thank you for such a clean easy to follow video!
It's sad to see these things in such bad shape beforehand, and so lovely to watch the care and expertise you bring to their restoration! Much love from Scotland!
Beautiful as always The part I like the best about watching you is not just your skill with the restorations, but your ability to see the potential in a piece of wood that others would just throw away. I definitely agree with you about the fizz in the beer, just the fact that it didn't produce a good head was enough to tell that.
Its a labor of love. being a knife guy, its not for resale!!! just to show what is possible with passion, and the knowledge and the right tools. Loved it!!! Rick
I subscribed immediately because of your excellence!

love your videos, kind of relaxing to watch. Great attention to detail and th finished knife is definitely usable.
Beautifully done. Crazy to think that someone else probably lost it on the field years ago and that it has been found and restored.
Whoever assembled the original knife in the factory (how many decades ago?) would feel so warm and content inside to see this restoration. Beautiful job.
Stunning. The craftsmanship is amazing. Bravo.

I like to think that the man who once built this knife would be very sad to know that it was once lost and "buried" for years if not decades. And I am sure he would be very happy that it is now back in excellent condition to do its job for decades. A fantastic piece of work. It reminds me of my pocket knife which I got as a boy. The handle was made of deer antler. Unfortunately I lost it. 😢
Brilliant restoration.
Beautiful job on the scales. I love that they are reclaimed wood.
I always thought the more modern plastic scale Swiss Army knives were a smidge less elegant than the older variants with wooden scales (though obviously, the newer ones are incredibly durable.) I’m amazed you got such a terrific result from where you started. I don’t think I would have touched that knife without gloves (or a tetanus shot.)
