Solo para corregirlo, BGC no es parte de "Manila", es parte de "Taguig", una de las ciudades bajo la región de Metro Manila o Capital Nacional, que es el término apropiado, no diga simplemente "Manila". La verdadera ubicación de Manila, la capital, está lejos de tu ubicación en el video. 😉

To activate translation subtitles on KZread when the audio is in Spanish and you want English subtitles, you can follow these steps: 1. Start playing the video on KZread. 2. Click on the "Settings" icon (represented by a gear-shaped symbol) at the bottom right corner of the video player. 3. From the menu that appears, select "Subtitles/CC." 4. Another menu will appear with subtitle options. Click on "Auto-translate." 5. A list of available languages will be displayed. Scroll through the list and select "English" (or your preferred language) from the options. 6. KZread will automatically generate translated subtitles in English based on the original Spanish audio.

The decline of the Spanish language in the Philippines can be attributed to several factors. One significant factor was the American colonization of the Philippines, which began in the late 19th century. The United States implemented policies that prioritized English as the medium of instruction and administration, aiming to establish English as the primary language of education and governance. Under American rule, English gained prominence, and its usage was encouraged in schools and official settings. This shift in language policy, along with the rise of English-language media and cultural influence, gradually led to a decline in the use of Spanish. Additionally, the Philippine government's promotion of Filipino (based on Tagalog) as the national language further contributed to the reduced usage of Spanish. Filipino was positioned as a language that represented the identity of the majority of Filipinos and aimed to unite the diverse linguistic and cultural groups across the country. Over time, with the dominance of English and Filipino, the Spanish language was gradually marginalized, and its usage declined among the general population. However, it's worth noting that there are still pockets of Spanish speakers in the Philippines, particularly among those with Spanish ancestry or in communities where Spanish heritage and culture are preserved.

There are still Spanish speakers in the Philippines, although their numbers are relatively small compared to other languages spoken in the country. Spanish is no longer an official language in the Philippines, but there is a community of Spanish speakers, particularly among the descendants of Spaniards and Filipinos of Hispanic heritage. Some individuals and organizations actively work to preserve and promote the Spanish language and culture in the Philippines. There are Spanish language schools, cultural events, and initiatives aimed at keeping the language alive. Certain regions, such as Vigan in Ilocos Sur and Zamboanga City, have a higher concentration of Spanish speakers due to their historical ties to Spanish colonization. While the overall number of Spanish speakers may be limited, Spanish still holds significance as part of the Philippines' colonial past and cultural heritage.

We also murder many of our words. Guapo in the past had a street slang equivalent--pogi. This street word is now accepted. Also by evolving-pared evolved into "pader". Escuela is now escuelahan. We always add "han" or anything to our words. Mayor, street people say YORME. Filipinos should love their language that is mixed with not only Spanish words but also Chinese, Sanskrit, Indonesian and even Arabic. We cannot be changing our words into street words.
