The UN has no military forces. Any military action can only be called by the UN Security Council, and US has veto powers, so UN can not ever take military action unless USA, Russia, and China (and UK And France) all agree. That is why US invaded Iraq, and attacked Yugoslavia without UN mandate - they knew it would be vetoed in UN.

Only UN Security Council can agree to send peacekeeping troops, and USA would veto and resolution sending peacekeepers to Gaza/Israel. Also, peacekeepers have to be requested by the warring countries, and Israel would never agree to having UN peacekeepers in Gaza.
