Players usually just want consistency from refs/umps. Even if they're off you can at least adjust if they're consistently off. When they're inconsistent you're just totally screwed.
Michael Kay gave a shout out to Jomboy when this went down. Saying he couldn't read Judge's lips and we'd have to wait for Jomboy to do so.

It's pretty crazy that the one time Judge says enough to get ejected it's on a pitch that's a strike, when he does get so many incorrect calls below the zone.

It literally wasn't in the zone though, unless you're only looking at the little white box on the screen. That bad is not official. And the overhead angle, which was a dead on angle, showed the ball nearly grazing the lefty batters box.

@@snerdtergusonthe irony of using “the box isn’t official” to go against the umpires call while umpires get screamed at by casual fans just staring at that box religiously is pretty funny. I’m sure every time you see a pitch called a ball in the box when your team’s pitching your immediate reaction is “the box isn’t official” right? The box overlay is the worst thing to happen to baseball broadcasting.

If they're being consistent then saying bullshit all day is out of line
This reminds me of that video you did of the Ump in the World Series who had a perfect game. This Ump is lined up so far right, he’s gonna think that’s the strike zone all day long. Definitely need to see more dynamic motion from Umps behind home plate.
This needs only Angel to be the most Jomboy video Jomboy's ever done
Been waiting for this 😂
Best baseball breakdownds bar none👍
that one breakdown we all wanted Jomboy to cover
If the ump is consistently calling a pitch a strike out of the zone, make the adjustment. Come on, Judge!
Bro the fan standing up that quick is so funny to me
"Whomever is calling balls and strikes is bullshit" is the proper way to not get ejected.
Haha love it! The yanks said ok, if that’s a strike, we’ll pitch it there.
I knew this was coming out the second it happened.
MLB Interviewer: So, how do you handle people being slightly mean to you? Prospective Umpire: Incredibly poorly MLB Interviewer: You got the job, kid

Jomboy keep up the good work. Cheers from Canada.

I was watching this game this live on my phone and thought to myself, “Incoming Jomboy Reaction”

Jimmy, you need to include him getting bopped in the top of the dome by a foul bouncing off the wall 2 pitches later. The crowd went bananas for the instant carma

Really hoping for the Minnesota Denver Game 2 breakdowns. Coach yelling at ref and the heating pad throw!

Waiting for Jomboy to become an umpire.
You know that some umps review after the game. I wonder if any ever say" I called that a strike? I do suck!"
Bad officiating is the single biggest problem in sports today... But you're not even supposed to talk about it!.... Thank you Jomboy for finally being a legitimate, popular outlet, who has the integrity call out bad officiating when you see it!... The sports world needs that... And has needed you for a long time, but... You mentioned having Aaron on you show, and how you're "going to talk to him about this"... But let's not forget that Mr. Judge isn't allowed to criticize the MLB officials... And this is why BAD OFFICIATING is the biggest problem, and, this is why we need YOU! Thank You JOMBOY!

And this has to do with this video…. how? The call was correct. Judge was being a little bitch about it, and he got tossed. No umpire is going to let you say that they’ve been bullshit the whole game, especially when they know that they haven’t. It’s ridiculous to me that you should have put up with this shit all the time. Every call they make upsets one team or the other. It’s an absolutely thankless job where you’re only ever talked about when you do something wrong. People are absolutely talking about sports officiating. Get on the internet, it’s everywhere. But I guarantee you that none of the people complaining have ever had to do this job and guess where a pitch landed that’s coming 90+ mph and being snatched up by a glove. If you really think that it’s easy to see that, you’re the same guy that plays armchair quarterback every week.
I've only seen a handful of times in my 55 years of watching sports where player/coach vs umpire/referees feels really good. When the challenge is made and the gauntlet thrown you very rarely get to see the umpire/referee show fear. It washes over their entire body especially the face and it lasts maybe a second, Judge stared at it today! Delicious, fear and intimidation!
I didn’t know you were a Yankees fan Jomboy. 👍
i was going to say, was Angel Hernandez behind the plate again? lol
As a player, I will say that as long as the umpire is consistent with their zone, we're usually ok with balls called strikes. Just as long as it goes both ways.
Nice work Blakney
Not sure if you caught it on the broadcast, but when he got ejected, they legitimately said "im not going to lip read, ill leave that to Jomboy"
And they say this is the moment judges early season slump turned into the hot run he’s been on.
The next game Ryan came in from up the third baseline to high five Judge when he hit a homerun.
Congratulations Judge, you're finally a real baseball player!
Elite level reaction time by that one fan
LETS DO IT RANGERS!!!
Last time a Yankee captain got ejected was Don Mattingly May 13 1994. Knicks lost the Finals and Rangers won the Stanley Cup. Hope this is not bad juju for the Knicks. Great for the Rangers!
I sort of just realized that the view we get from the centerfield camera isn’t square to home plate. So we’re always getting a bit of a skewed view of the strike zone.
I'm a yankees fan to
I'm that woman @ 1:20 whenever there's people are yelling in public
Post ejection Judge is heating up!
Atleast consistently calling that corner wide, consistency should count for something on wrong called strikes
The league should make The Four Agreements mandatory reading for every umpire. Agreement #3: don’t take anything personally
I like the hat, Jimmy!
Even when the catcher framed them the pitches were still four inches outside 😅
just like judge to have a pretty chill ejection all things considered
As a Braves Fan this is funny😂
I wish players would start using "You're worse than Angel Hernandez" as an insult to other umpires when they are calling a terrible game.
If he’s consistently calling it a strike then work around it and swing when it’s there cause that’s 100% still a hit able ball
Jomboy you missed the foul from Verdugo that bounced of the umps head later!!
That's crazy
funny thing is it WAS a strike
I was taught to frame no more than 2 inches, every single catcher this year getting away with a 6-8 frame for strike. It’s fucked
The fan deff lost his parlay 😂
Early gang where we at
Do they ever do the chest bumping, dirt kicking thing anymore with umpires? I always thought that was a fun part of the show when people got kicked out.
If the ump is being consistently off then isn’t the strike zone still reliable? I’m just confused
Umpires have no patience. Kind of ridiculous.
hitters having to protect against the outside pitch must get frustrating by the middle of the game, they feel have to swing at pitches they don't want to for fear it's going to be called a strike.
