The thing is irl Italy secured germanies southern flank and with The gothic line . In the long term, under German command, Italian troops were effective (See the battle of garfagnana)and Germany wasn't encircled. If they had taken over Italy by force, Germany would've had alot more gurilleas to deal with and it would've broken down the nazi regime alot earlier as the Germans wouldve had to put alot more german instead of italian men on the gothic line (which frankly, because of the eastern front, they couldn't afford)

This is wrong , germany never attack italy and japan territory . Germany put their soldiers in italy to help them from us and uk , when they invade italy !! Same as in africa germany didnt over control all of those country . In asia german didnt do anything , japan do their thing until got destroy by US .
