Ultimate YAMAHA Ténéré 700 RALLY BUILD
Presenting my latest build, this time for my very own Yamaha Ténéré 700. This time I needed to build an Adventure bike that would be capable of participating in the Sardinia Legend Rally but at the same time I wanted a setup that I could keep for a dual purpose all the year. Long is the list of accessories I installed and which I will list in the next weeks once I have some time. Hope you enjoy the video! I already have another T7 to build this summer that I want to turn into a very special and unique edition with a new Rally Kit.
You want a Yamaha Ténéré 700 custom build and design? YES I do Custom Rally Builds for anyone, send me an email at lucchesemanuel@gmail.com

Cool, I was curious how racers were shedding up to 50lbs from their T7's. Swap headlight, exhaust/cat delete header, tail tidy/signal delete, ABS/front disk delete, lithium battery, carbon bash plate. Swap out hardware for titanium. Swap out rear wheel for 2". Great tip for moving the OEM headlight closer to the frame. Carbon fiber handlebars are available too. I'd be interested to see carbon spokes as carbon has strong tensile strength. Or perhaps even swapping out half of the spokes for carbon to reduce drag and rotational mass. Good to see such a positive review of the steering damper as well.
English with an italian accent is so awesome!
Can’t wait for the suspension video 🤩, great walkthrough m8
Incredible build! Looking forward to the next video.
I love your work and development of bikes.
Even stock, this has to be the best ADV bike currently out there

Really an INSANE bike my friend!!! And, a big YES for one video about digitale Nav!!
Beautiful bike. Great build as always 👍

What a great looking bike. Good job 👍
Grande manuel... video sempre chiarissimi e attacca scimmie pazzeschi 😛
Amazingly build. I'd love to set up mine with most of the gadgets !!!
😍😍😍 more Tenere would be sweet as
Wicked set up 👍
this skid plate is awesome, gonna buy it.
So you basically kept the engine and the chasis haha love the bike! The fairing is so much nicer than the original one
Excellent video and report Manu
It would be good to see more on the digital road book . Bike looks great 👌🏻

Tenere and Africa twin is one of the most handsome good looking adv bike
Really nice build and have a great appreciation for all the work u put into it! Noticed your radiator guard is stock. I highly recommend the OEM upgrade. It’s looks a lot better in my opinion and it’s also lighter. SKDA is an awesome company to work with!
So many great tips, thanks for sharing =)
Yes. More T 7.
Great build man. Do you know the total weight lost of your bike compared to a factory one?
Quite the build! I would love to see more on the Rally Raid Suspension - I guessing you went with their 230mm Closed Cartridge up front and 230mm shock in the rear - I also purchased these for my T7 though have yet to install due to Not having a place to rework the forks for the moment... Much thanks for sharing so much detail!
This is a mindblowing build!! Great Inspiration thank you very much! It would be super interesting to hear your experience with the digital RB. Will you do the Trans Italia Marathon on that bike?
Great Video, would love to hear more about the digital road book and the Suspetion Cheers
Super video 🤟
Fantastic! I want it!
Awesome
More in the Tenere please!
Very nice build. Would love to see a Video on KTM690 on how to completely removing the ABS system, like you did on this bike.
Very nice build, and it was very informative about why you decided to changes some parts ! I would like to know what is the weight now after the modifications compared to stock ?
As a XT 500 owner, I found this interesting, tanx
Good work Manuel!

Awesome video and your bike is beautiful! Where can I get the headlight? I want one asap !
Looks so sweet, but no tail tidy???
Fantastic build. 18.59 Selle Dalla Valle!
Manuel, great stuff! Would love to see a video about a T7 adventure built with your own bash plate and fairing. Can your newly developed fairing with the small, but powerful and lightweight headlight also be purchased with a "see through" wind screen? Maybe tinted?

Thanks!!! At the moment no plans for a transparent windshield but might be towards end of the year.
Wow! Great development 🤘🏻 are all these upgrades going to be available soon as a complete kit from rebel x as a one stop shop option please? If so, approximate price please?
Amazing build bro looks like a dakar bike!!!How about total weight of the bike?
Bravissimo
Build a Desert X for a nice change. Don't see so many on your channel... As tall rider, 1,98mtr, I find many bikes to low. My knees aren't straight in 90° angle which makes getting up/standing up hard on the knees. Riders from Western Europe and Scandinavia have problems with this a lot. The Desert X is one of the highest off road biased motorcycle for us to focus on for us. Especially the new rally addition with 2 cm higher suspension and so, 2 cm higher seat height at above 90cm. This a a lot better for tall riders of the newer generation. Every generation gets taller and taller. But our cars, matresses, chairs, tables, offices and motorcycles don't grow with us unfortunately. But now Ducati gives us an opportunity.
Great build..., just not sure about that headlight.
Hi, really nice build. Do you have any comments on rally raid 230mm suspensions ?
Manuel your T7 killed me! I own my own built KTM690 Rally and I have also built my own Cagiva Eelfant 750 Rally. The Cagiva is a legend but 220kg full still tricky to go with if it get slippery - the KTM is brutal wiht power and challanges me often when it get very selective - I am not a Trail rider working a lot with clutch. So thats why your T7 builts makes me crying - it looks awesome but also the changes you made are those one I did on my bikes too - the question is how heavy is your built T7? I love watching your channel - please go forward! Thxs Franky
Please review the digital road book
It's a great pleasure for me to see big Yamaha modded for a real racing! Just some notes. I reckon that front brakes are weak. They may be enough on a slippery surface but in a forest they are useless. This front master cylinder has 10 mm piston and it can stop only YZ125. We use old style 2007 11 mm masters and calipers with 27 mm 2 pistons on everything 250-450. Personally I use on my XT660Rally billet Braking floating 32 mm two piston caliper, EBC MXS pads, EBC 320 mm supermoto single rotor, Magura radial 13 mm master, braided line. It's just incredible set, linear, powerful and with long lever travel that allows me very accurate braking but can stop front wheel if I need. What piston size does your slave cylinder have? And what's about forks? Why didn't you use KYB SSS or any other twin-chamber forks?
Hi Manuel, when do you add the full accessory list? And the can is the estimated date for release the dashboard handlebar mount? Thanks in advance
Hey bud what are the exact handlebars you have on there . excellent build as usual
fai un video dedicato al Roadbook digitale e su come si usa e su i suoi pro e contro
Want to hear your opinion on digital road book. Thx
Really nice bike, I love it !! Only one question, why don’t you change the licence plate holder, which is too long in the original ?? Any recommendations for a new one ? Yamaha short plate holder accessory is OK ? Thanks
Where can I get the headlights? Fantastic build
What would this group of mods cost? It’s a beautiful project, of course I’m wondering about the financial side. ThNks
We want more videos about the bike, the suspension and the digital roadbook... plzplz
Grande Manuel!! Bellissima sta T700!!
I would like you to create a full windshield + side fairing for the ktm 790/890 adv, using the stock headlight:D

did you ever do the video about the suspension?
Very nice 👌 But only the Headlight weight is 2kg
I am always amazed.... question....why doesn't a manufacturer just build the bike we want. So we don't have to deal with building our own.

Thanks!!! But see it in this way, if they built the perfect bike then it would take away the fun of customising it and spending endless hours and nights in the garage hehehhe
Molto bella | li vendi i componenti che hai installato?
...the headlamp is from Ktm Exc from 14-23 models :D
Hey Manuel, great video lots of details. What brand is the front light?

Great content on Tenere-subscribed and thanks :). I really like the sound of the Protaper YZ High bend bars being lower and a little narrower . I know it’s a custom setup but any idea if the standard lever break/clutch perches, Indicators, engine starter, etc would fit on that bar (reduced width)? I also like the Protaper clutch and Break lever, would the break lever fit in the standard break lever perch too?
@ManuelLucchese1
Thanks! For sure all the oem indicators switches etc would fit. Taking off the end of the oem bars (that bulky section where the handguards are mounted) the oem bar is actually narrower and the YZ slightly wider (providing better stability). The clutch lever yes would fit but then you would have no mount for left mirror and handguard. The brake lever no it would not fit without changing the brake pump
Very curious what you did with the clutch switch. Did you tape it up or just start it in neutral?
In order to install the 2.5 wheel, did you have to change the brake disc?
Great job and classy look. What size rear sprocket are you running? Did you have to change the chain size? Thanks
@ManuelLucchese1
We are running the 520 chain with rear 48T sprocket, makes the bike more responsive and more fun to ride on technical sections
Rear and front sprocket size please !! Chain pitch 520????
Ciao, nessuna protezione sui carter, come mai? Protezioni al leveraggio della sospensione posteriore? L'originale sembra molto esposto
Hey Manuel, what is the name/brand of the Headlight do you have a link to buy it?
How did you get all the weight down low? Wayyyyyy top heavy stock
Do you know approximately how much weight were you able to save?
congrats on that build... maybe i missed the info, what tablet you use ?

Rally raid UK rear shock
HI Manuel, Awesome Tenere 700! I love all your build videos. I have a (front) suspension question: I have the same Rally Raid fork set-up (5.6Nm Springs) with Scott's damper on mine. I ride 50/50 onroad-offroad with my T700. I'm using Motoz Rallz tires with tubes. Over 100km/h, I get a strong headshake/pendelum effect from the front. I'm blaming the knobby tires, but wonder if you can recommend other tricks (besides going back to a 50/50 tire) to reduce the headshake. Your fork tubes look flush with the triple clamp. Mine peek out 7mm. My sag is setup to my weight of 90kg, but I play around with compression and rebound without much success yet. Cranking the steering damper all the way on helps, but slow speed steering is no fun. Any tricks you could share?
@wonkywheels1037

I have the rally raid inserts too -6.0Nm spring, Steering damper. The shock re-valved with a 8Nm spring. The standard spring is only 6.0Nm. Way too soft. I run Dunlop 909 front and Moto Rallz on the rear. I don't have headshake at any speed. I feel your headshake may not be the tyres. Are the wheels balanced? Are the tyres fitted to the rim correctly? Loose spokes? I hope you find the problem.

I have the Rally Raid too, 6Nm springs 8Nm on the rear. I run MT21 Pirelli Front and Motoz Tractionator rear. I have also run the same tyres as you. I have no head shake, as Woftamduke said, check the wheels are balanced and true. Play around with fork height and Sag. I can do 160 - 170km dirt or blacktop and the bike feels stable.

@@wonkywheels1037 Thank you for your suggestions. Yes, the wheels are true, balanced and we checked the spokes (spoke torque wrench). My next plan was to mount a different front tire and see if it improves. but I wonder if playing more with compression or rebound would help. Lower tire pressure seems to help a little.
No money left for chain lube?
is the headlight street legal?
i think the t7 is agreat platform, but this is perhaps not ideal. personally I would mod a 450 for rally.
