Nice one! I am waiting for my RVE with Termis and hopefully it arrives just in time for easter here in Sweden. Traded my Panigale v2 Bayliss for the RVE and really excited because i have only ridden sportsbikes so your reviews are really gold. As a track instructor i do a lot of trackdays and really looking forward to take the bike around tracks at a higher tempo. Keep up the good work 👍

Whats the top speed

What’s the RPM like at 80mph or so? Does it seem like it’s pretty high and buzzing a lot? What’s a comfortable cruising speed?

80mph is no problem. Very smooth and but high strung. The only thing is the wind at those speeds.

Thanks for the video. I am dreaming of a hypermotard (can't afford it yet) and it seems to handle everything so well. I really hope that it is more reliable than the KTM.

The best review on this bike so far, thanks for that! 👍You've answered all my questions! (like the comfort of the seat) I'm going to replace my Multistrada V2S for this Hypermotard in the spring. I've had all sorts of bikes, big and small, my last ones (before my Multi) were a 2021 Goldwing and a 2022 BMW RT, but I've also had a KTM Duke 690, and so far, it has been my favorite. The Duke was the bike with which I was always happy to go out on a ride with, always fun. I'm done with big heavy bikes. ***I prefer a short exciting ride over a long boring one***. Plus, at 333lbs, I'll be able to transport it on a trailer hitch motorcycle carrier to my house in Florida for the winter, no need for a trailer. I'm 57, and going to ride around on a hypermotard very soon!😁

Yes you have to ride like no one sees you. You have to try to get yourself out of harms way before it even happens. One lapse in judgement... results in the dent in my right shins from a car plowing into me. :O) Thankfully I was able to walk (with crutches) after that one. haha

Great work, would you say the Hyper 950 would be much better highway wise or only 10% or so better in terms of wind, stability and comfort?

I'd say 50% better because if it's insane power and heavier weight for stability. The 698 is fun but if you spend more time on the highway (but still want a Hyper), get the 950.

I have currently a streetfighter v2 (I love its design andnits engine) but I hesistate to sell it for the 698 hypermotard because I always liked supermotard as I started riding motorbike on a supermotard. What do you think ? Keeping streetfighter v2 or buy the 698 ?

You will be sacrificing some power but trading for lightness. The 698 still pulls pretty hard to redline. How tall are you? This bike is super tall. It's fun and light weight. Not really meant for long distances on highways. Neither is the Streetfighter but I'd bet it's more stable on the highway. What kind of riding are you going to do? Commuting to work, etc.?

I'm currently 1,73m, I was sitting on the 698 in my dealer, it is ok but I'm concerned about the comfort of the sit, I remember driven the 950 hypermotard and after 15 min I had pain on my bottom 😅, so I fear the same on the 698, definitely I have to test it for a ride. I don't ride so much, for example my streetfighter has now 2 years, and I have less than 2000km, I am not riding on the Highway, I prefer small road in mountain that's why I'm wondering to go to the 698, but at the same time I love the design and caracter of the streetfighter. Of course best would be to have both but it is too much in my case...

Glad to see this bike get a nice passing review. Side note: MOTOGP started this weekend and Ducati took the first sprint race win today! Sprints are 1/2 the distance and 1/2 the points as the main race on Sundays

Great content! Would be nice to know about range/fuel economy. I know the tank is on the small side, but I'm curious if the fuel economy is good enough to give it decent legs.

Great idea. I was thinking of doing another 200 mile run this week. I can monitor the gas consumption highway vs. backroads, etc. and make a video. Next one up is NRC Tail Tidy. I just got it in and I'm hoping to record the installation and review tomorrow.

The bike makes the 100 up and 100 back a long trip. I could do it on the Hyper 950 (love above 5k RPM) but wind is beating me whole way on Hwy ride. Cities & mountain roads are the canvass where it does exceptionally well

Yeah I agree. The wind is brutal on this, my 950, streetfighter, diavel, and anything without a windscreen. But the 698 probably feels it the most. Still a fun ride though.

I love how they always go past the speed limit "in mexico" wink wink...

weather like that is why i no longer live in Connecticut. North county San Diego is year round riding.

Any more Mustangs in your future?

Take a look at the Mustang at Flood Ford Rhode Island, black GT , premium ,20 inch wheels, red stripe on the hood..... I like that bad boy, 355 gears even....😂

Because it's a motard aka dirt bike with street wheels. Ducati will likely release an Enduro version of this with 18/21" wheels. You can buy lowering springs and seats if it's too high.

@@burddog0792 it's got ground clearance for jumping triples though, it's unnecessary, nobody is jumping this bike.

Seat is plank-like and quickly uncomfortable. It's terrible at slower speeds, engine surges and judders....completely unsuitable for commuting into the city. Tuned to only get the best at high revs. Stock exhaust is anaemic sounding. Only for those who will ride it hard and fast on open roads.

Thank you. But my Streetfighter grunts like a barely tamed bull at low speeds too but that's part of the Ducati charm. These machines are beasts we need to tame. I think with its agility, the 698 is perfect for city riding.
