Ultimate Man Cave $50,000 Elder Scrolls Basement
Ойын-сауық
A SUPERFAN spent over $50,000 converting his basement into the ultimate man cave modeled on a best-selling computer game. Despite wife Jill’s dreams of a swimming pool in the garden, Tyler Kirkham, 32, couldn’t be swayed from his vision based on The Elder Scrolls series of fantasy games, which features a $15,000 bathroom with its own waterfall and a secret door resembling a bookcase, activated by pulling one of the books. Alongside suits of armour, a crossbow and an alchemy lab full of medieval potions, the space features a $15,000 bathroom with its own waterfall and ivy-covered rock-face. He also fitted a $250 Italian crossbow, $8,000-worth of stone and masonry, stained flooring costing $3,000, suits of armour, an alchemy lab full of medieval potions and a $20,000 home cinema for playing the games on a large screen. Tyler, a professional comic book artist, impressed his friends, relatives and neighbors who love visiting to join gaming sessions in the man cave, which he has been building since 2012.

I'm surprised he doesn't lag with how much items are in the house

Being alone for the rest of his life?
Can you imagine trading all this to swim in a pool once in a while? Man. I'd honestly trade ever swimming in a pool again in my life to have a basement like that. I'll just go swim in a lake or something. Haha
Tbh I wanna save up a tone of money and make a fully Skyrim themed house but with all the modern conveniences of today’s world

If I were you I would buy a piece of land (cheap), then I would start to build modular rooms. Full DIY. This way you could build the place room by room. Once you got the money you build another room. The moment it becames livable, you can rent it out air bnb style, and the income it would generate could be put back to the upgrades.
He got ripped off for that "$8,000 Custom wooden furniture". My dad got something very similar at a thrift store for less than $100.

I’m sure it’s counting ALL of the custom furniture.
HIS HOME IS LITERAL GOALS FOR ME! I LOVE THE ELDER SCROLLS!!!! I'm a collector. I own games in their original boxes. TES Arena, Daggerfall, Battlespire, TES Adventures: Redguard. etc etc I love The Elder Scrolls so much, that I try to bring it into other games. I build TES themed homes in The Sims 4. I even put out "custom content" objects that you can add. in game. I would love to do this.. If I had the money. I would
All right which one of us searched for Skyrim themed man caves?!
Never let your wife go bro.
It's very refreshing to see other people do this to their home I themed the majority of my entire house based off of skyrim and some of the which are universe And it was worth every penny
Holy crap…….. If I lived there I would never leave…
I want a real house of Skyrim like Hjerim.
Creating the bathroom with the toilet looking like a bucket, like on Skyrim... That would have been cool! Very neat basement!
Medieval ≠ Skyrim But it look good
"Italian Crossbow $250"... As a European who is deep into medieval stuff, i feel so sorry for Tyler getting scammed in Italy to buy that "Italian Crossbow". There's nothing Italian about it. That's a typical "Made In India But Sold In Europe To Tourists" fake crap. Way too much stuff like that going around here. One rule to follow if coming here to buy medieval items is: "If you can buy it over the counter and /or if you can afford it, there's a circa 99% chance it's fake." If you want the real stuff, buy real copies that actually work. If you want genuine medieval stuff go to the acclaimed auction houses... and have your bank account ready cause the item is going to cost more than your trip here, no joke. *Source: I worked at a Grand Museum for a few years, and we had to know the market as well.*
very nice !! The legend lives forever ......
Skyrim is my personal favorite game. Im sure i have around 2 thousand hours in it. Plus elder scrolls 4 Oblivion and elder scrolls 3 Morrowind. Skyrim The game that keeps on giving as long as you can get the mods. Lol
I need that basement

" hope he has the space ". That's what the sub basements are for... What you don't have a sub basement ? Build one with an elevator behind that book case and down the Elevator to the sub basement. Money well that's always the big issue with building work and life in general. Lol. Good thing his wife supports him though.
Best money spent!
This is incredible, but how in the world does a comic artist afford something like this? I'm a programmer, probably one of the best at my very specific niche, but I'm over here struggling to pay rent.
Wonder if he has some gold ingots laying around so i can get my blacksmithing up lol
I love it i wana make it
He should have done it with Oblivion
damn
Would love to create elder scrolls theme park with places to stay eat where you actually feel like you're there just my dream though no funds for my dreams
feeling like he got scammed from some of those prices……
HAVE SOME KIDS!
How can something look so expensive and cheap at the same time? HE really cheaped out on some things which is weird. The weird plastic fruit and helmets, and plastic weapons. Why even put them there?
Liquid cash is fun
He didi it because he had the money...
"Dad this is what we are going for" enough said basement dweller.
How embarrassing.
this is sad
I appreciate the goal but this is really not that impressive for 50k
Highly disappointed. For some one that's a supposed super fan like him and with the cash and resources he most have he really decorated the room poorly. Are you telling me you'd rather get cheap Halloween props and decorations rather then looking on say Etsy for props that actually look like they're from the game??
Looks cheap
I’m into medieval stuff but man this basement looks ugly tbh
