Ultimate Ice FIshing ATV?

Been meaning to put together a video showing off my ideas and ice fishing ATV creation. By purchasing and fabrication parts/accessories, this is what I came up with.

Really nice setup, youve thought of just about everything. One thing Id mention is never ever leave your auger blades uncovered... one touch on your clothes or skin and its gonna get ugly fast

I put mudflaps behind rear tires and they keep snow out of sled being dragged behind wheeler.

Very nice. There’s nothing like the feeling of satisfaction by accomplishing exactly what you set out to do -and it seems you definitely rocked that! It’s totally functional and it’s the way you wanted it to be. I absolutely love videos like this. First of all there aren’t very many of them out there! And when others see what you and a few have done it’s helpful to those who wanna do something similar. Even if it’s not exactly the same as yours, know that in some way your helping someone get to the point where you are! I welded a contraption to hold my shack vertically off from my 1 7/8” ball & hitch in the back of my 400 Sportsman. Even made my own auger attachment off that as well. Everything else (which I’ve finally learned to downsize because I really don’t need to bring the kitchen sink) is mounted/stored on the front rack. Totally functional for me and I can honestly say I wouldn’t change a thing! It was fun to build and has made my days on the ice sooo much more enjoyable too! Nice rig & tight lines...

Looks like a nice set up. For me and my wife I choose to be a bit more inclosed with a Sxs. Yes close attention to ice thickness because of the weight but any lake will blow hard and sometimes white outs. Gps is a great addition along with insulated gear of course as well as the clam used to stay out of the weather. And the heater as well all add up to a great time on the ice. ps those auger blades will find a way to slice you for sure, keep em hard covered~

If you can do aluminum, do it. Otherwise be sure to adjust your spring tension in the back of your wheeler to prevent tires and chains from rubbing the plastics. I still love this setup.

Dude this setup is fantastic, there is literally nothing you didn't think of. Pretty sweet setup, especially down here in the more central Midwest where our ice season isn't always as long.

Matt Vavroch bucket holders are the only other thing but they fit within the ice shelter. If I would have been able to weld aluminum, an aluminum rack would have been a little better since the weight is farther behind the wheeler.

Nice setup ! Mine is similar on my Suzuki but I run a Monster box so it has the ability to mount stuff on the sides of it. Your rack for your flip over is a lot higher than mine but I love that method of hauling my shack like that only complaint is that it makes my machine ass heavy so on slick ice I need 40 acres to turn around lol !

I use a similar setup. I do not like dragging anything; the setup I fabricated was wide enough for a two man shelter, auger attachment under the rear rack, two milk crates on the front rack with pvc attached for rod holders.only down fall is the weight; I must wait till minimum 6 inches of ice to use the setup. It's being fully mobile especially for tournaments that I really like. Nice job on your build

I don't mind towing a shelter with a cover on it but some years here we go some pretty slushy snow on top the ice and that literally fills the sled up that was the main reason for this fabrication. I won't run a ATV on anything less than 6" period. Being mobile and efficient is everything.

Yes livescope was a chunk of money. I figure I will get 10 years of use out of it, so 300 a year. I bought the ice fishing bundle and use it on the kayak as well. I'm not really a fan of humming bird, my father uses them on his bass boat and I think they ate way overpriced for what they are. Here's something you should try this winter; that's learning to ice fish with crappie skin for bait. I use 1/4"x2" strips of skin. I've caught everything, including cats, carp, pike, walleye and pan fish on skin. It's very durable and one piece will last all day even after being hammered by 20-25 fish in a day.

Awesome rig you've got there, bro. I bought a new Tracker 570 last year and have done some of the things you've done to your four-wheeler. Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to get out on the ice yet, but it's been around 8 inches for the past couple of weeks in most places here in Marquette county (U.P.) so now it's just a matter of making the time. I'm hoping to get out there this week. Quick question - back when you were still dragging a sled, did you ever try using one of the sled covers? I mostly ask because I'm still having to go that route (until I can do something like you've done here in this video. Also, just wanted to say that I subscribed and hit the bell icon. Awesome video and I look forward to seeing more in the future. Stay safe out there on the ice, bro.

@yoopertracker Man I have a cover yes and still haul a sled from time to time depending on gear I need. But when there is more snow on the ice or slush, the tires will fill the sled cover up
