So very happy that there are gentlemen like Harry (however few there are) who has property and the where withal to enjoy an appetite for internal combustion :) Most importantly for those of us who aren't in Harry's position, he shares it with us on KZread as an enthusiast and not as an elitist. Thank you Harry :)
You must be the coolest car collector alive! Such passion and a very charismatic approach at reviewing every single one of them.
"Special event in the Austrian Alps during the winter 2014/15" AKA filming James Bond's SPECTRE?

I just love these modded Defenders, and with the jacked up suspension you could get at least 5 traffic wardens underneath. Epic!

The only problem is if you try and run a traffic warden over he could just duck.
Smiled at the subtle hint on the back seat. Just need an Omega on the wrist.

@Harry's garage Would you do a remake of this video in, say a week or two, where you point out all the small coincidences that may or may not relate to the origin of this particular car?
The event he cant tell you about for legal reasons is James Bond Spectre

Excellent video Harry. I must say that the initial intro to it is just great... Like a monster!!!
A thing of rare beauty. Nothing comes close to bettering a chunky modified Lady...... Superb.
Harry, your kid like face on that uphill at the end is priceless. Thanks for using these awesome vehicles and sharing them with us. You have such eclectic and great taste regardless of price, speed, etc.! Staying Tuned in!
Yep - we'll say it for you then Harry - as used in the 'Spectre' Bond film :)
It's always a happy day when Harry uploads.

Thank you sir. Guess bonds getting over his alcoholism?
& those light switches at 10:10 are used for lights that would go on when hunting kangaroo at night in Australia, hence the kangaroo symbols. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I swear it's true. Loving the episode!
I can't really recognize the mysterious "event" by looking at the car, but I've spotted that Harry is wearing a Nato-strap on his watch which was also worn by Sean Connery in Goldfinger... ;-) Back in the days on a Rolex Sub (I think in his books Ian Flaming let Bond wear an Rolex Explorer - or something that was desribed as looking like an Explorer). But that was before James Bond has become a brand ambassador. Speaking of which, Harry might be wearing a Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial "Spectre" Limited Edition.
That was fun - enjoyed that! Miss my Defender during these bloody winters - always got you there, and in the summer felt like you were on safari when you went to the shops! Great cars.
The torque and grip that thing's got is really impressive, love the rose joints, very Countach.
This is badass. Thanks for the upload mr Harry. Always enjoy your videos
What a great bit of kit! I can see Jaguar SVX getting some inquires.
Absolutely magnificent vehicle, wonderfully presented by somebody who knows his subject matter and also in an environment to demonstrate it capabilities. There are so few of these but I think you'll agree the right man (Harry) got to to own one of these. Slightly envious, and would love to be a passenger.
Love that bit on the hydraulic handbrake! "Might be a way that's been reconnected, don't know how that might happen..." Suppose we'll have to wait and see annoyingly
You know you are a car enthusiast, when you buy a defender which isn't road legal, built for the snow and live in england... I love it!
Another excellent video Harry!
I'm guessing your number plate gives away a bit more about the 'event' you can't talk about although it is pretty recognisable anyway. I love it!!

Harry you are great mate. :-) so enthusiastic and knowledgeable and what great fun on your own farm with all that space.. the bit at the end were you wanted to hand brake it. lol fantastic :)
Nice Land Rover Harry. I had a 1987 V8 with I think 110BHP and absolutely loved it. Lots of torque.
If anyone was curious these were built for the James Bond Spectre movie - www.landrover.com/experiences/news/partnership-with-spectre.html

Only found you're channel Harry, love the reviews you have done so far, especially the 600SL in the South of France. Love to see a review of it up against a Jaguar XJS 6.0 V12 of the same vintage.
What a great modded defender, just awesome. I'd have rubber donuts around those noisy rose joints on day one! Nice vid Harry!
Please also make a tour of the farm, what you grow there, whether you have horses etc?
Nothing like another fix from Harry's Garage *grabs cuppa tea* Looking forward to hearing about your latest adventure on here soon
Brilliant vid Harry really cool defender. Loved the beer bottle no cost option. We need to see hand brake turns

Metcalfe now owns and farms a 400 acre Cotswold farm near Shilton, Oxfordshire.[6] It is termed a mixed farm, mainly arable with wheat being the main crop. Metcalfe rents out the 80 acres of grassland - 70 of which is organic - to a livestock farmer, who farms Sussex cattle, sheep and alpacas. The farm also has 10 acres of wild bird mix and over 3 miles of stone walls to maintain.[7]

Dear mr. Metcalfe, I am a fan so don't get me wrong, but why do you invest tons of money in cars and cheap out on your sound? A simple lavalier microphone with a dead cat of even an old sock to block the windnoise would make your wonderful videos way more enjoyable. Love the Land Rover!
Awesome Defender, I bet you can't wait for it to snow so you can have a proper play around in the fields I hope you get some footage of that if you do. The neighbours will know who to call if they get themselves stuck! :D Thanks for sharing Harry, best car show on KZread!
Harry, you are making me go nuts, constantly talking about your beautiful bikes, and not showing them to us! :)
Great job keeping the secret there Harry. Nobody will get it from the "OO07" dummy plate and the SPECTRE poster on the back seat! xD Very cool machine though, whatever special event it might have been built for.
Too cool! I would imagine you could add some polyethylene bushings/washers to the shock mount bolts to shunt the rattling down a bit. Congrats on that awesome toy!
Hey Harry, maybe you can attach a rubber band to the upper damper to keep it central but still have full range of motion. Or rubber bumpers on the damper or frame similar to what is used on the frame of a downhill mountain bike for dual crown forks(maybe same as a motorocycle?)
Great video Harry, as always! I have a question though: how difficult would it be to make this road legal? Because otherwise this seems way too expensive and nice for exclusively an off-roader.
I was a bit surprised at the bits that were already showing rust! Never owned a Defender myself but I've driven a friend's 110 with a very turbocharged Isuzu 4BD1. *Preposterous* torque. We towed one of my cars with it (~1400kg including the trailer) and the only differences we noticed were braking (of course) and 100C higher on the EGT gauge. It still accelerated pretty hard
amazing bit of kit
Still can't believe land rovers stopped making the defender!
Need to see it go through some real obstacles and challenging terrain
Cool video. Those suspension tops that cause the rattle for being metal against metal, will that not wear out with time?
*absolutely sick, seems like you are covering a Range Rover Sport that was used on the set as well*
12:42 C17 departing nicely in the background!
thanks for sharing harry your one lucky man thanks again
Great Landy, my jku sits on 38×14.50 tyres and rims. With a 4.5 inch lift.
I spotted the watch Harry, I'm going to guess at a certain limited edition Seamaster 300?
Hey Harry, nice video ! What brand of frontspots are those ? Grts
Damn Harry, you've got a lot of land there
Seat belts on Harry, even off road.

Great vid as usual Harry. I'd put some padding on the cage and a cap on top the brake lever for safety
Love the vids harry superb. Hmmm the watch you’re wearing might hint at the “event” you “don’t” mention😁
One of the things that excite me most about your videos is that you you seem to do most of the video work yourself. What an amazing job! I really enjoy every single video of yours.
Have an ex-military Australian 3.9 Isuzu turbo...Triple locked...Love the Land Rover
Amazing machine. With a suspension knocking constantly like that I would go crazy !!

off road you would have so many other noises you wouldn't really notice the suspension noises
Great video!! Interesting poster on the backseat, and brand of beer, and fake number plate.... ;-)
How the hell do you do it Harry? Commented on your vid that featured the Lancia Integrale saying how jealous i feel that you've owned/driven just-about every car on the planet that i love, and now this! What a car
On Jeeps there are "quick disconnect" swaybars. Is this something they do on Defenders as well?
is THERE A european manufacter that can custom and it stays road legal?
I would bet ed China could work some bushes in those shocks Harry? Your vids are always the highlight of my week thanks
Not saying that the 007 plate gave it away... Cool video and car, to bad it's not street legal.

Will it be available in the US of A?
have they changed the gearing in the diff to compensate for bigger wheels?
Amazing Defender! But why do so many not have portal axles?
11:36 Easter Egg. Btw Harry, all the switches say "non operational" so it seems like they simply do not work...
You can tell it was used in the bond film spectre because of the '0007' number plate !!
Where can I get wheel fenders like this? Is it custom, or I can buy I somewhere? Who knows?
what kind or style of axles are on this truck ??? i'm under taking a build in need of this same style of design
is it the 2.2 diesel from VM motori? same as the one in the Alfa Romeo Giulia? Can't you re mod it to make it road legal and easy swap it bach in original state when you need to go on collectors show ?
Hopefully you'll be back out around the fields when the snow finally arrives
Cool truck. What does this weigh? Is it really heavy? Seems like diesel would be good for rocks but bad for mud because of the weight. You have a great collection m8.
Can you get rid of the beadlocks to make it legal in the UK, or does the movie engine-swap cause emissions issues? BTW, if you reconnect the handbrake, remember that it's used to make the rear end break loose during chase scenes.
In the beginning of the video you say it has a rear Limited slip diff, but in the middle of the video as you talk about the gearshift and Hi-Lo levers you mention "locking center and rear diffs". Wich one is it rear LSD or rear locker? There is a BIG difference between the two!
wasnt the "special event" the spectre bond film?
Whats the improvement with those solid shock mounts?
Can't help thinking that if Land Rover had turned out a few 'tuned' versions that were road legal they might still be making them. The world needs something between a basic farm defender and a Range Rover.

It's magnificent.
How come it’s not road legal are bead locks it allowed or something?
As a watch guy I noticed the watch first. Classic bond baby! Great looking truck, I hope you get it street legal soon! Keep up the great videos.

Love that truck of yours Harry do you mind give us a bit of a glimpse of how much it costs? cheers
Harry i spent soo much time in Land Rover off roading with my good friend Stuart Walker Ultra Off Road 4x4 saw loads of these chopped vehicles spent hours pulling them out of the mud a standard defender with a good set of simex would do anything it can do.
Welcome 008, to the world of aftermarket suspension modding! Bowlerized Landys are excellent, no doubt. I know someone here in Canada who runs a very similar setup. More common here, obviously, is the Jeep Wrangler, latest edition is the 'JK', and the four-door is my favourite snow vehicle - with 10k worth of suspension bits tacked on of course and 36'-40' tires. V8 swaps are still the franken-choice but Cummins has a new 4 cycl diesel crate engine packaged in mind of the Jeepsters so it should start making a dent - at least here above the 49th parallel if not the Mason-Dixon line where evolution has hit a snag or two these last decades. 40' tires ridiculous? Depends completely on the size of the rocks one plan's on driving over, doesn't it? Thnx for the great videos; I have spent the last 4 yrs-plus convalescing back in Canada and as a result my maps are marked up w/ hundreds of intended routes and stops - many from small details in your videos taken in France (even Algeria) - all for my impending and triumphal, if tardy, return to Europe. Like the last time it's planned to be a permanent move but will stick because niggles like mortality won't be considered deal killers this time around. While I plan to explore the continent's pleasures and treasures for the rest of my days, I thank you for assisting to make getting there almost bearable in the meantime. For some odd reason here's nothing quite like watching someone hand their 12 cyl. ferrari a well-cultured beating to make your morning. Strange but true. 'till next...
Why cant you say it is for james bond

Another great video from one of the most natural and enthusiastic car presenters in the world. Really enjoyable to see his passion shine through!
Is the bowler engine upgrade road legal on its own.
what is that tube near the steering wheel that is waiting for an accident
dig the spectre watch to accompany the ride
should get a factor 55 shackle for the winch to protect the synthetic rope
I love defenders, and that one is bad ass👍
I always thought SVR would do a nut job run out defender with the 5.0 v8. Any idea why they didn't?
Good insight 👍🏾
proper land rover, probably only a few years old and still starting to rust! haha awesome car love the maxxis trepador tires
Good vid and even better truck.
Love the Number Plate ✌️
so the width of the tyre is wider than the original mini's wheel rim diameter!
