    Can you help answer a few questions for me? Friend of mine recommended me wash my ceramic coated (Adams graphene) Audi with Carpro reset and then another friend of mine said not to use reset as it’s too harsh. Who is correct here? Also I have the carpro reload as well and trying to figure out when is best to apply this or if I even need it. (I purchased reload and reset as recommended by a friend to have on hand to wash my Audi when I get it back from ceramic coating) Love the content.

    I have a bottle of CarPro’s Descale added to my supplies. Looking forward to using it. Part of my research indicated the Descale adds in the removal of any remaining finishes, ie carnauba wax and sealants, as well as any fallout. And your car looks spectacular. Nice video.

  • @PanTheOrganizer

    @PanTheOrganizer

    2 жыл бұрын

    Your research is correct. It's mainly used to descale paintwork (remove mineral buildup and water spots) but can also help to start the breaking down process of older waxes and sealants. It won't hurt silica sealants like ceramic coatings or silica spray sealants like CarPro HydrO2 or Gyeon WetCoat.

    Awesome work Pan as the Porsche looks super glossy and reflective. I do like the idea of attacking both ends of the ph scale in the spring. One surprise for me was how sweet descale is to use in the wash bucket after foaming. There was more lubricity than expected and it completely removed a spray on sealant. I appreciate the honest feedback on the tire coating and I think I will purchase this tire coating to make rinseless washes easier. Finally I was really surprised to see the hydrophobic behavior on the windows. The coating you used is holding up very well. Thank you for the video.

The foam steps were Bilt Hamner auto foam, then CarpPro Descale foam then Descale in the contact wash with great results. 100% DI water for mixing and rinses. Finally Optimum products for tire cleaning and dressing - I get great results with the Optimum line - typically clean the tires 3 to 4 times though. My detailing arsenal is 'Pan Approved' lol. I subscribed to your channel quite some time ago and greatly value your episodes. I wanted to convey a situation that leaves me scratching my head. My car Is new three months old and driven very little. I immediately upon car delivery of the car properly applied Adams advanced graphene/ceramic coating. I recently had to have some work done on my car. Unfortunately it sat in there parking lot for days. I found myself with water spots when I picked it up. The process I used to get rid of the water spots was to was to, spray it with McKees N914, then rinse the car, then use foam cannon and then I washed the car. I definitely felt like after the wash the car was very clean. I then used a chemical guys water spot remover. The purpose of this comment was some information that you might find interesting. The pad that I used in the application of the water spot remover when finished was very dirty. I am baffled as to why what I thought was a very clean car, why I would have so much discoloration on the pad. I welcome your thoughts.

  • @PanTheOrganizer

    @PanTheOrganizer

    Yes there is often lots of embedded contamination in the clear coat that the naked eye can’t see. So even after a regular wash, the car might appear clean but in reality still has contamination, hence the chemicals used for decontaminating the surface. Welcome to my channel. Love the demo! It really helps! When you say maintenance is all of this a routine you would use weekly? I assume you have to decide if you need to reapply certain things like tyre sealant. But curious if maintenance products like descale would be used every week (or if it’s safe enough) or more like once in a while. No road salts where I live but the car does sit outside so I do notice slight water spots on my ceramic coating!

  • @PanTheOrganizer

    @PanTheOrganizer

    8 ай бұрын

    This is not a weekly maintenance regimen! Hence why the title is "SPRING MAINTENANCE". These are pretty strong chemicals and you only really need to use them once every other month, or perhaps once per season if you take good care of your car. For regular weekly washes, a pH neutral snow foam and pH neutral soap is all you need. Descale is only to be used "as needed", meaning when you have mineral deposit accumulation, or if you wand to strip an older wax. For regular weekly washes, I use CarPro Reset, which is made for regular maintenance. See how I wash my car each week in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/imSh1dOen92qcrg.htmlsi=Y-HQqwS6FOmbfdmR

    It works super well for gloss and slickness, I absolutely love that mix. But like any topper you are applying, it will likely alter the properties of the protection underneath. It's normal. No topper has the same high end performance as my range topping ceramic/graphene coating. That is to be expected. But I don't mind it, as I really enjoy the look and feel of the Bead Maker and Dream Maker mix. And it only lasts 3-4 weeks at best, so it's not there for long term protection anyways. I know the coating that is there will last for years, it's doing its job. The topper on top is to maintain the protection and boost gloss and slickness. Play around and experiment with different toppers until you find one that suits your expectations.

Perhaps a video on cleaning a car with PPF? I explained the situations in this video. ;) Typically, the more alkaline pH snow foams are to help remove grime, traffic film and grease. The more acidic pH shampoos are to help remove mineral deposits and water spots. But you don't use those for each wash. Only on "as needed" basis. For regular weekly washes, continue using a quality pH neutral shampoo.

    I use Reset for every wash, it's a perfect shampoo for regular washes. I wash my car twice weekly. I have been using it for years on coated cars, that's what it's designed for: regular washes of coated cars. It will not damage the coating. The shampoo you wouldn't use for every regular wash is something like CarPro Descale. That's only for when you see the hydrophobics diminish, or accumulation of minerals or water spots.

    Could Adam’s strip wash be used instead of the Bilt Hamber for a presoak since it also has a higher pH?

    Hey Pan, The shine on your vehicle resulting from your spring clean-up is just awesome....I need your help/guidance. I detail cars, yesterday I did a 2021 MDX that was previously treated with ceramic. I struggled to get watermarks off at the end... Any suggestion on what I should/could do?

    Did you use any of the products in this video, such as CarPro Descale? It's made for that. And if there are still water spots after that, use a dedicated water spot remover like this: bit.ly/393Sx0d If there are still water spots, that means they etched through the coating and potentially through the clear coat and polishing might be needed at that point.

    @@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for the follow up. I do not have these products but I will be ordering them right away. I was hoping for some homemade recipes that do not always revert to chemicals. Thanks again.

    Great Video as always. Will high ph soaps degrade ceramic coatings over time?

    If you would use them multiple times a week for many months straight, you could perhaps start to weaken weaker coatings. But for regular use, absolutely no problem. True coatings (in glass bottles) have a very high resistance to chemicals and aren't affected by the soaps in this video. We're talking about a once a year spring maintenance here, or once every other month type maintenance if you see traffic film or mineral buildup. For regular weekly washes, I use a pH neutral shampoo.

    Hi Pan, informative video thanks, question: with the carpro descale, and the other decontamination steps will remove a sealant? I don’t have a ceramic coating , I have TLC2 as my protection, will it remove that ? Also can you give your recommendation on a water spot remover, thanks !

    It will not remove ceramic spray sealants like TLC2. You are fine.
