    2000 hours in. The single biggest tip that helped me, that absolutely no "monster hunter veteran" has ever mentioned in any of these "for beginners" videos and even the game itself will never tell you: when foraging/mining/carving, you can hold the interaction button down instead of pressing it 3 separate times.

    Important note on palico equipment. It's usually a good idea to run an ailment palico weapon when you can. Poison, paralysis and sleep are all great choices. Some monsters will be more resistant to ailments than others, but most of the time you can get 2-3 ailments on the monster throughout the fight. Poison does a set amount of extra damage. Paralysis stuns the monster for around 10 seconds so take this time to lay into it. Sleep puts the monster to sleep so this is a good time to set up bombs and to prepare a heavy attack on its weakest point. The first attack that hits the monster will do double damage, so if you're playing a heavier weapon sleep is a really good choice. It's definitely worth taking the time to learn your strongest wake up attack, especially for great sword.

    Captain gets unlocked later in low-rank story, same as palico expeditions. Investigations show up randomly from picking up monster tracks and from killing local fauna or breaking monster parts. If you want for example Gaju the big fish crafting materials you can go on expedition, kill few to get investigation and then run that. Same for monsters where you can just go around and collect their tracks. Side quests can be important giving extra items like mantles, food items etc. Events can unlock additional gear too. Worth checking those lists regularly to see what's open and what has a quest icon given by NPC (the comment bubble icon)

    Great vid! One thing i would like to see is a video explaining the your pouch inventory. I have played through the entire game already, but i never found the need to fill up the pouch too much. i basicaly just take potions and mega/ancient potions, nullberries for some blights and i usually use mega demon drug/armorskin along with dash juice for harder quests. I mostly play solo so i never found much use for other items. So it would be nice to see you go through one or two of your items layouts explaining why those items.

    I’ve gotten through all of the base game with mega potion, herbal medicine, baitbug, thunder and pitfall traps, the four talismans and the slashberries to give me more slicing ammo during a fight. It’s the first row + 1 and I could cut out one trap and the fishing if I wanted. Anyone saying you need more is trying to push their style of play on you, I killed every boss with barely any inventory.

  • @jaybee4288

    @jaybee4288

    3 ай бұрын

    @jakeg4858 You never need dung or flash pods. You don’t need farcaster. A sticky LBG needs gunpowder if they just want to use sticky ammo but then they wouldn’t need tranq bombs so they can just use that spot. And no one needs to heal the palico - even bringing the palico itself is completely optional. Perhaps you needed these things but they’re not required and most players won’t need to use them. It’s fine that you play that way but “need” implies necessary, and none of that stuff is. This kinda talk makes the game seem really daunting.

    im kinda surprised seeing a beginners guide for this game this long after its release especially when not only the sequel is out but the sequel to that has been teased a little...but then again...I made a survival guide for a game 2 years after it released so i guess i cant talk as much. Also if anyone does try this game and plays any other MH games, I want to point out that In world specifically it is basically always better to cap than to kill the monster. In Rise for instance (the sequel), the drop chances are different depending on whether you kill or capture the Monster. In World thats not the case, you always get more for Capping and the only reason to kill is for Elder dragons that cant be capped, or if for some reason its easier to kill the monster than Cap it.

    Hey TeraRyza! Thank you so much for the video and Beginner's Guide. I was a returning player after initially playing on PS4. I ended up reinstalling it on the PS5 and got further than I did when I first played. Your HBG guide really helped so thank you! I started with Greatsword but transitioned over to Pierce and Spread HBG. I was playing completely solo and was having a great time. I managed to make it up to Shara Ishvalda and hit a wall. After many attempts, I unfortunately found my enjoyment completely disappear as the fight feels/felt tedious. I am just not sure I am capable of completing the quest solo. The problem is, I am not interested in paying for Playstation Plus so I can't use the SOS flare. I have heard many people say the fight is easy and they don't understand why some people have such a hard time. I would really appreciate your advice and feedback! At this point, if I am just not able to get past Shara I just can't bring myself to continue and ready to give up. Just want to say, great videos! Keep up the great work! Sorry for the long winded message. :P

    @@TeraRyza I really appreciate it! Just to provide more details, I was using Crimson Kadachi Lion 2 for the first phase and thought switching to Fulguration's Roar for the second phase would be a good idea. I was planning on sticking to the back of Shara and focusing on the tail or legs. I was also using the Gluttonous Direcannon as I do have an Elementless jewel. I was focussing on Critical Eye level 7, Guard 5, Crit Boost level 2, Health Boost level 3, Weakness Exploit level 3, 3 Shield Mods, Recoil Suppressors and Ammo up level 3 for Fulgur's HBG and 1 recoil suppressor and 1 close range up for Gluttonous. So many people recommend Pierce. It's so hard to deny the damage Spread does especially when you are running 3 Shield mods and Guard level 5. My main problem is I haven't really upgraded many of my armor pieces so I am sure my defense needs to be higher and is not good enough. I have honestly really enjoyed all your videos. You are so welcome for having watched them. I could really use some help but my hands are tied without Playstation Plus.

    One thing to add to the above, take care of things you need to IRL either before or after a hunt (food, bathroom break, phone calls, etc). A word of defense for Defender armor (pun intended): I have an old friend who initially drag me into the MHW, but quickly fell off, when monsters started to actively cart him while evading his combos. Typical newbie hunter experience. I, as a Souls veteran, was much more used to dying and git-guding so it was not a big problem for me. Recently I managed to talk him to try MHW again and Defender armor (alongside with weapons) was available for him despite the fact that he didn't buy Iceborne. I quickly described how it works, he chose to use it and this time we actually successfully cleared main game storyline together. I hope he'll agree to get Iceborne when it'll go on sale. So in the end, Defender armor CAN help you if you struggle with MH's combat, delaying the moment when monsters will actually punish you, giving you more playtime to adjust, I guess.

    Hi, every weapon in this game is good with practice. Dev team made an amazing job balancing them. For me Longsword is easier to use and also the more you play with it, the better you become thanks to the parry. Sns can be tricky to get used to the lack of range and the fact that you can use items holding block without sheathe however is very fun and has a lot of combinations. Pick which you like most or even use them both.

    600 hunts with Hunting Horn, and maybe gonna add more to that soon. Every weapon is viable, but that doesn't mean a weapon that is the best for you does not exist. Try them all out more and really figure out what you like.

    Make sure you're using your vitality mantle and make/drink some armor drug on your quest. Make sure to eat at the canteen for the +50 health and make sure you have vitality 3 on your skills. You're gonna get 1-3 shot regardless for the most part until you learn to stop getting hit by stuff, but the divine blessing skill will help keep you from dying constantly.

The reason people quit early is getting overwhelmed with content, so as a guide-maker your #1 job is to stop that from happening.

    I played for 1000+ hours. There are some tips😂 1. Add "incredible" 540 damage from single poisoning to your master rank hunts. What? It's like 1 greatsword hit? Yes Use poison. Be useless. (Shara Ishvalda and Safijiva are different story tho) Tip number 2: Use ONLY aerial attacks when you use insect glaive. You don't want dps, right? Ground attacks are for losers, right? Tip number 3 is kinda connected to second one: Don't learn weapons too. 14 weapon types are here and they are ALL EASY TO USE😂 Pick your weapon and start swinging it like caveman. You are scary! And powerful! Can't beleive it but here's tip number 4: Use defender weapons/gear!🎉 They are awesome! You always wanted to skip that annoying little part of MH:World called WHOLE GAME, right? Then use them!😂 And you can even go fight last boss of iceborne with them! Tip numero 5: Launch SOS signal and die 3 times in a row in a single minute! You can do it! Tip number 6: Skills are hard to get, right?😂 You need to combine armor pieces, decorations and all that It can even push you to start THINKING. We don't do that here. Straight and simple. What we want from armor? More defense. That's it.

    Playing with the fashion within the game is one of the many end games for many veteran players, to the point that modding communities took it upon themselves to remove the visualness of the clutch claw to improve the look of some of the outfits. Many outfits look better on the female model than the male, which is why when a male player isn't making a self-insert, they normally go with the woman.
