Unexpected but a welcome surprise.

Something different for a change, nice. I think a 13 yrs old midshipman is really young but that's the way it was like we have seen for example in Master and Commander. Looking forward to see the continuation of your campaign. Another excellent choice by Pumnurau - thanks, mate!

@@NightPhoenixnp 19 yrs was for lieutenant (the years were shown at the top). Apparently six years at sea was needed for lieutenant's examination. Young cannon fodder...

Hi you can do manual target position on enemy ship. Click on your ship then 2 x click on enemy ship and 2 x click on spot where you want to hit.

You know that you have three types of ammo, right? Cannon ball (good against ship hull), grapeshot (good against crew) and chain shot (good against sails).

when do you first encounter 1st and second rates?

I know that playing medium difficulty with adaptation off it was stupid easy. not sure how it effects hard though as i havent played since full release. medium with adaption on is pretty damn hard though, most missions you will be at a significant weight disadvantage unless you can get your hands on some decent ships through boarding. and even then that will just upweight your opposition again so its a toss up. if this playthrough does end up too easy...i would definatly reccomend a medium adaptation run as it should give you a solid run

the British camp gives you more income per turn but less prestige, you use prestige to "buy" prize ships and research but you can also trade prize ships for more prestige. so i find myself capturing as much as i can and trading it back to the admiralty and only keeping ships i really want/need. try to spec up at least a ship or two as a bording monster through ship upgraids as there are some there that will make your bording troops stronger and getting the right weapons to the right crews is important.

We'll see how difficult it'll get. It's always hard to gauge how difficult you should make things without any experience into the game. Thanks for the tips - i'll try to take them into account.

@@NightPhoenixnp all good man, should be able to tell pretty quickly as the difficulty ramps up fast after the first mission.

Good that you're also playing more visually appealing stategy games like this. I don't really enjoy the Garry Grigsby etc. content. Obviously UoC2 is the major attraction of your channel though.

=P It usually is. Not surprising - UOC2 is a great game. I'd be a little sad if there were more people watching PzC2 than a brand new UOC2 campaign.....

i pick Nelson because i like the hat... *sigh*.. guess they don't bother with history in schools anymore.

If you're not from Britain, Nelson unfortunately really isn't important enough to be taught about. Well maybe that's different in other countries, but not where i live.
