This developer is worth it, the tight gameplay and immersion scale is understated. Been playing ultimate general civil war for years and it's got so much replayability

Ultimate General Civil War was both enjoyable and disappointing. It was fun and a had a lot going for it. However, the devs walked away with a lot of historical battles not in the game and others in-name-only. The modding community made a lot of changes that made battles more realistic.

I really hope you continue this series further than just the battle for Boston. This game has a ton of potential but I really hope they adjust the price downwards a bit, it just isn't at a point right now where many people would be willing to pay 40-50 bucks for it

I have a few Ultimate General games and they are great but I agree ..I will not pay 50 bucks for a game. I can wait them out .

Honestly, I love the look of the game and it looks really fun, but everything surrounding the price and the lack of a British campaign is a massive hit

Great stuff! I have enjoyed watching your progress up to this point.

I'd like for the game to succeed. The potential is most certainly there, the current state is entirely unique in it's genre aswell.

As a Revolutionary War Reenactor I like the game and love the idea, if they keep. I purchased the early edition back last year. Happy to see the fixes to the battles, can’t wait for them to do more to smooth it out.

What are the plans for the campaign map? How extensive will it get? I also note that there are six factions (US, three European and two American Indian). I wonder if you will be able to play with other factions apart from the Brits later on.

map is the eastern sea board by 78 don't know on other factions besides Britain as of now its just the two might change later though

Yeah, i had to restart the game a bunch before i managed to do well enough to keep going. Im about to take Montreal now. Ive had a bunch of epic battles and storming of forts.

It really is a good game and I'll get it eventually but full price for early access is silly. If I was made of money then sure . Perhaps the British campaign will change my mind, its always more fun to play the bad guys. Look and Company of Heroes most people get that to play the Germans then they try the Allies.

In the early days of you charged those less than 50 man units , they would surrender. IDK if that is still the case. But when you were battling around the 17 minute mark that’s what came to mind. Because it is so painful/annoying when they don’t surrender or run away

They won't surrender until actually melee takes place. Very annoying. Short range volleys will not do it (they shatter instead). Chasing them down will not do it. And when you add the infinite energy of a routing unit it makes them near impossible to chase down without cavalry.

Got a long way to go in my opinion. The way the units move on the combat map is ridiculous and unrealistic. For example not being able to form column of march.

Why did they change their minds about releasing it on steam without the brit campaign? I thought that was the original goal of the game release schedule but I could easily be wrong

is juts bit let dawn as he did 2 very similar games , with gettisburg , with look bit like the same game , and this one is kind of the same with the campaing added. i mean is okay, but still very expensive considering that is kind of the same as previous game , mechanical wise

I do love the UG series, and will keep an eye on the game but yeah... Pricey for a game that is released as "early access" and is clearly lacking features. Get the impression that after one playthrough the game is done as well, given the lack of options.

That's probably by design. They already have too many negative reviews from people who don't understand what Early Access is. Negative reviews of an EA game based on well published unfinished aspects of the game should be taken down. A lower price point would only increase the number of tbose BS reviews from stupid people.

I would almost certainly buy this game if it were cheaper.

Im not sure they want too many people buying EA. There are already way too many people writing negative reviews as if they dont understand a game in EA isnt a finished product. It seems they are more interested in people willing to pay to be a beta tester. They've already made a ton of tweaks since releasing EA on Steam.

Yall people complain about the price point but will gladly buy 3-4 less polished games that you will stop playing before you'd get bored of this gem

It's an awesome game but the majority of people won't pay 50 bucks for it. Its quite unfortunate.

I'm sorry but the campaign seems extremely small for the price. From looking at it, there are 9 cities and very few possibilities to make your own strategic moves compared to CW. Also it seems the AI is very stupid and they keep sending a small detachment toward Leicester to be destroyed over and over instead of sending more troops at once.

The map expands as time goes on. You can easily get at least 30-40 hours out of one campaign and it is very replayable.

It's a $15 game

Is this a AAA game; for 50€ should be! Where is the British campaign? AA game, and not worth price.

Yeah I'm not buying this game until the price comes down. $50 is harsh.

Yet another example of a company abusing the principles of Early Access to recoup costs on an unfinished game while encouraging hungry strategy gamers, who you KNOW will buy this stuff compulsively, to be your BETA testers. It is exploitation, pure and simple.

I don't agree with this statement, the previous games are master pieces worth everyone's time. I have been playing ultimate general civil war for years and it's so much more polished then even triple A titles.

it's a huge nah for me, this fells like a concept of a game for a price of almost AAA strategy game tittle.
