Ulster Television (Or it's actually known as "UTV".) is the only ITV franchise to serve Ireland. But I don't like Ulster Television and Ireland because... THEY WILL PAY FOR THIS. Also... WHY DID YOU BRING UTV HERE? That's it, you're... FIRED, FIRED, FIRED, FIRED, FIRED FOR YOUR BIG-BAD RUBBISH SAKE!!! Oh my god. Can this day get any worse? That's so super duper powerfully dangerous.

Fact: The dots in the 1959-1969 logo represents the major towns and cities of Northern Ireland, they are Strabane, Derry (or Londonderry), Enniskillen, Coleraine, Armagh, Ballymena and Belfast. And also, amazing logo history.

Ah the good old times. Man I spent so much time watching a lot of game shows on UTV.

The instrument is in fact a celesta - looks like a small piano, but instead of hitting strings, the hammers hit metal bars like those on a glockenspiel.

What's even better is that I live in northern ireland, and I was born in belfast! Great logo history!

The utv logo 1959-1969 makes everyone go to sleep by the song

I never really watched UTV that often growing up, only watching You've Been Framed, TV Burp and The X Factor, but I remember a trailer that played with "It's all about you" in the background.

This TV channel gives me ULCERS!

The 1969-1988 ident was used for 19 years! Even longer than the 1971 Border idents

UTV became itv 1 (utv region)

Addicted to watching TV logo videos. Thank you for all your hard work with them it cannot be easy to find all the logos from over the years.

The 1980-1988 logo is nostalgic to me, but I don't know why. I'm not even from England, I'm Canadian.

6:12. This variant came from the first evening newscast the day of the UTV rebrand on 4 June 1993.

Wasn't there one where the potato-masher one (the best of the UTV idents) was drawn with the little ditty @358? You know, like the LWT river logo.

To answer a question all stations use that You see one Itv stations like granada,meridian,yorkshire,anglia,htv,tyne tees,border, and carlton (including the central and south west region of carlton ) shut down in 2002 and became known as itv all times they started using these idents as well and also the other stations who didnt shutdown at that time like grampian,scottish, and channel

For some reason the 80-88 logo makes me sad. I think it’s the music. My favourite though.

Wait, UTV (or Ulster Television for a long name) began television operations on Halloween 1959. And also, it's the only one that serves the the Ireland region.

It was probably just an inconsistent change, the place goes by two names after all, so I wouldn’t really see why it would be campaigned against. Derry is more of a locality as far as I know.
