Ullman DE-1 Screw Setter Review

this is a tool to hold onto slotted or Philips screws to get them started in tough to reach places and can be used on non magnetic fasteners.

I am a recently retired plumber I have to say I had to close my jaw halfway through this video I didn’t know these existed and don’t know how many times I would’ve used them but I certainly would’ve had a few on the truck all I can say is every time I ran across a Ferris screw my first instinct was to just throw it in the garbage because that’s what it was in my industry.

Back in the old (ignition) distributor era, most every technician had at least one of the twist type starters for slot heads. They were used for removing screws as well... you broke it loose with a regular driver, then 'cocked' the screw starter & pushed it down in the screw head. they prevented many screws from falling into inaccessible areas. Cool videos, Thanks!

I have several. Most old circuit breakers had slotted screws. For getting a ring terminal on a wire started underneath an instrument panel while you are upside down looking up, nothing else compares. I bought the Phillips version a few years back. I installed a new breaker last week, and the new ones are Phillips! Nice review. SO is my normal source for these. Short ones can be real handy too!

Never seen one of these. (I typically use a magnetized driver; skipping the nonmetal screws.) It's a very interesting concept. Great review, Ty.
