45th Annual Ukulele Festival in Waikiki, HI on July 19, 2015 features Jake Shimabukuro, Na Hoku Hanohano Award Winner.
Roy Sakuma started the first and original ukulele festival in 1971 and today the festival is an international event attracting performers young and old from around the world and an ukulele orchestra of hundreds of children. In 2004 Roy and Kathy Sakuma established Ukulele Festival Hawaii, a non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to bring laughter, love and hope to children and adults throughout Hawaii and the world through the music of the ukulele. We admire Jake for his humble gratitudes to his uncles and friends in his community. For him, to pull time away from his tours, to return to his home is quite a commitment to his community. It demonstrates that he is grounded and knows where his roots are. He pulled off another greatness for the festival. Gotta love that guy!

he's just hitting the harmonics. (in the dead center of a string length, is the loudest harmonics. that's where you can just touch the string and it hits a different high note)

They're chimes. It's were on the strings just above the frets were the strings rings over harmonic tones. There are three points along the fret board were you can get them ring different tones.

He plays a Tenor Custom Kamaka. Most Pro Musicians play a Tenor size. Ohta’san plays a Soprano and Benny Chong plays a Baritone

The hecklers were actually yelling at the girl who ran up on the stage
Nice job on that ukelele. It’s not my forte though. I prefer the six string over any other kind of guitar.
