4:31 - it is nice to have my home country mentioned. I vividly remember the refugees coming in, the realisation, that certain things which we thought would be only a matter for history books… But I have to correct the young man, who found it nice that the country is so clean. There have been a lot of Ukranians in Italy even before the full scale invasion.
I am from Kharkiv (eastern Ukraine). After the outbreak of the war, I moved first to the west of Ukraine, and then to Poland. The East and West of Ukraine are very different. My story: We were traveling by car with my family by car across the country and made a stop in cities along the way. The further west we went, the worse the attitude towards us became. In Vinnytsia, I saw several conflicts between locals and refugees from the east. But mostly the locals tried to help us. In Ternopil, there have already been threats against us because of the Eastern pronunciation of words. And there was such a case that I went to the grocery store, and they refused to sell me because "I'm not Ukrainian enough." It was about the same in Lviv, I saw fights between locals and visitors in cafes. And even the detachments of self-proclaimed "defenders of the country" who approached the refugees and asked questions in the Western dialect, if you did not understand them, could not answer because you did not know the Western dialect or the answer, then you were doused with paint. My father was injured, he got a chemical burn to his eye. The police refused to help us. Everything was already better in Uzhgorod. There are quite friendly people living there, I even met a Russian community that spoke out with a political action against Putin. Then we crossed the border with Poland and are here. The Polish test was especially filled out for me. The fact is that since the age of 14, Stepan Bandera has been considered a hero in the west of Ukraine. In the east, he is treated neutrally or badly. So in the test there were questions "Do you consider Bandera a hero?", "Do you support his ideas?" etc. The fact is that in Poland, as in Russia, Bandera is recognized as a Nazi. Therefore, there were quite a few disputes and even fights between Western Ukrainians and Poles. I saw how the Polish police deported one such person for beating a man on the street because of a remark about a tattoo with a portrait of Bandera. In general, Poles are quite nice people. But a couple of times I got into trouble because of historical conversations. As I understand it, these were local nationalists who approached Ukrainians and asked "Whose Lviv?" In conclusion, I will say that there is no unity in Ukraine, and even if Ukraine wins, the problems will not be solved. There will be a conflict of 3 parts of Ukraine. That's why: 1. The West is more nationalistic and generally can't stand Russia. 2. Residents of the east left for the west from the war, but instead of help they received threats and insults. Also, the culture of the East is closely connected with Russia. You may not like the Russian government, but many in Russia have relatives and friends. Until the age of 14, it was quite normal to visit each other across the border or even just go to the store. For example, it was normal to get on a bike in some small town in the east and go to the store in Russia. By analogy, the Russians also went to us. Even more, as a resident of Kharkiv, I will tell you that in our big city all the signs, advertising, communication was in Russian. 3. Crimea is a special case. If we are Ukrainians in the east of the country, who often speak Russian. Then Russians already live in Crimea by nationality. Imagine the attitude towards them from the west of the country. When I was little, we went to the Crimea to swim in the sea. It feels like the culture is different, but on the other hand very close and similar. Most importantly, I noticed that almost no one there knew Ukrainian. In general, I am for peace. as a resident of the East, I probably understand better that it is better to be friends with Russia. Putin will leave sooner or later, but it will be stupid to blame the Russians forever because of one bad event. There were dictators in other countries, too, but they are now democracies, Russia must be given a chance, otherwise even greater evil will take the place of evil. Thanks to those who support Ukraine.

@@abyss7745 All nations have the right to a second chance. You want to join the EU so much, but at the same time you deny all the EU values in relation to Russia, although the EU directly says that the Russians are not to blame. Don't you dare equate the government and the people. I have friends from Russia, they are all against the war. Also here in Warsaw, Russians are actively coming to our help centers and helping us. All these orcs are a scoop inheritance that will disappear with the change of generations. Therefore, if we treat the Russians badly after the war, then this conflict will simply continue in the next generations. Remember only Nazi Germany. Here in Poland, no one insults the Germans of Hitler's time, they only speak ill of those who were in Hitler's party. According to your logic, Germany and Japan after WWII should have been isolated and cursed forever. Just remember that Hitler came to power only because Western countries humiliated Germany after the First World War. And after the Second World War, they actively helped Germany and look, Germany is now the 3rd economy of the world. Don't be a Nazi, respect people. And now about Kharkiv. Our family lived in Zhuravlevka, near the Saltovsky district. I often walked to the Barabashevo market on foot. Rockets also flew into our area. And I also managed to sit in the basement. That's just unlike you, I was able to preserve my humanity.

Very interesting that so few mention Poland when it is the country by far which is helping them the most, being vocal to the rest of the world to and pressuring Germany to give them more weapons and stop being cowards in this war. Millions of refugees being accepted into Poland, into PRIVATE homes not by government even and normal people dont seem to care. Fascinating, in my opinion from Norway. Let me guess, you're Polish? Why do Poles always have to trumpet that they help the most? As far as financial aid is concerned 1. USA 2. Germany As far as military aid is concerned 1. USA 2. @@QuantumWaveMaster1. Norwegian. 2. If you care about refugees, there are at least 1.5 if not 2 million Ukrainians in Poland now, so you are wrong. Most Ukrainians in Poland are being helped by private businesses and people, NOT the government. Poland has a much lower income and a lot less resources than Germany but is helping even more still! As far as military aid is concerned? Have you not heard the joke about Germany only wanted to send helmets to Ukraine for months and months? Oh wait, it was true, not a joke. Not only did they want to sell only helmets, it was delayed for a long time. Thing is, Germany doesnt really want to help Ukraine with anything other than getting poor immigrants into their country cause ethnic Germans dont get any children anymore (like the rest of the western world, sadly) They wanted Ukraine to be done with fast so they could continue trading oil and gass with Russia. Only by immense pressure by Poland, USA, UK etc did Germany finally start delivering weapons to Ukraine.

@@QuantumWaveMaster Polish government literally denounced their Hungarian allies for standing with Putin, also our politicians (we hate them) had the guts to come to Kiev, unlike other politicians. Yes, we are not #1 if it comes to materiel help, but we did our best. Due to expensive social policy in Poland our economy is slowly collapsing since 2020, so we can't offer more. Also Poland is the bridge to Europe for Ukraine. They don't have to stay in Poland, but if they want to go to other countries, they have to use our roads. Besides, Germany cheated on being #2 on military help. They did that by sending enormous values of helmets, blankets, uniforms while Poland sent guns and ammunition.
