The personal side of this conflict is unimaginable. My best friend is an ex-pat Russian. His Ukranian relatives have cut him off for being Russian... his Russian relatives have cut him off for not supporting "legitimate Russian self-defense". Even beyond all the people killed on both sides, the hatred will poison them for decades.

That's rotten, and sadly, not at all surprising. I know part of the history is that the Ukraine had some really corrupt politicians who let things like mines and other companies go to ruin --> poverty, resentment, easy pickings for hate-mongerers. That Russia grabbed the Crimea with it's huge gas fields didn't help at all, of course. Meanwhile, in Russia the propaganda machine was of course running at full throttle. Basically: imagine a US family gathering with some of the relatives being democrats and some Q-Anon followers. Wishing the best to your friend. There's no way that all that's happening now won't be burned into people's memories; I hope very much that they will also remember the Russians who risked imprisonment and/or death to protest against Putin, or to provide honest news to Russians.

Today: (Mariupol, Ukraine) - A Russian airstrike devastated a maternity hospital Wednesday in the besieged port city of Mariupol amid growing warnings from the West that Moscow’s invasion is about to take a more brutal and indiscriminate turn. Ukrainian officials said at least 17 people were wounded in the attack. The ground shook more than a mile away when the Mariupol complex was hit by a series of blasts that blew out windows and ripped away much of the front of one building. Police and soldiers rushed to scene to evacuate victims, carrying out a heavily pregnant and bleeding woman on a stretcher. Another woman wailed as she clutched her child. In the courtyard, mangled cars burned, and a blast crater extended at least two stories deep. “Today Russia committed a huge crime,” said Volodymir Nikulin, a top regional police official, standing in the ruins. “It is a war crime without any justification.”

the Ukraine people don't hate Russia I think, only Putin. Ukraine doesn't regularly try to attack Russia or brainwash their people telling them they don't deserve to live, and that they must be hated. Ukraine tries to negotiate and reach an agreement with Russia, and it's the Russia side that won't try to comply/force them to submit. The Ukraine people don't go on the internet and say "there is No RUSSIA!" on every random youtube video they find remotely including the word of a country they don't like. Ukraine might actually disappear from the map and be included as part of Russia. I think this is not very much like the palestine-israeli conflict. Especially the part where the palestine side won't admit the existence of Israel, and therefore won't agree to any kind of treaty with them (Israel has tried over six times to reach an agreement, every time given the answer "you don't exist, NO!"). Yeah, they are not very similar conflicts I think.

@@zerocooljpn Israel has been killing children innocent people bombing hospitals destroying schools and over all eliminating the Palestinian people for 70 years. I agree the conflict between Russia and Ukraine isn’t the same. The Palestinian conflict is much worse. As for brain washing and being told they don’t deserve to live you should do some research about the women who are abused daily in Palestine everyday. The men who are arrested and put in jail for no trial. At least Ukraine once belonged to Russia Israel had no claim to Palestine at all except some paper that was signed but other countries who also had no claim to the land. I think you should read a book or look at some unbiased news before spewing BS all over the internet.

Stop the terrorist attacks please". Do you think Palestine would say "OK" ? I doubt it. I think this video is about Ukraine, you should stop trying to make it about something else just because they don't give you attention. And, if you know of any "unbiased book" please let me know. Everything partial you'd probably call anti-palestine, and will probably continue posting comments on unrelated videos saying "Palestine is so much worst!".

Social media companies shouldn't stop their services in Russia, how else are their citizens supposed to get a glimpse of what is really happening in Ukraine if they're blocked from the outside world by the social media company itself?

with current government law in Russia anyone who post news different from official government point of view may be charged with spreading false information and get 15 years in jail. Social media just protecting their staff from possible problem, as content managers could be found guilty as well because they didn't block all presumably false news.

RT news has shockingly been the most accurate and least biased news agency reporting this whole ordeal even before Russia banned fake news. There is a reason why all the notorious propaganda agencies (Fox news, CNN, ABC, BBC) went running for the hills when fake news became illegal. Remember the report of a Russian warship reproaching a small island occupied by Ukrainian soldiers? And When the warship told those soldiers to surrender and the soldiers told them to F themselves, the warship blew up the whole place? Turns out it was fake news and those soldiers were actually just apprehended in the end, the warship did not demolish the whole place. But guess who came with that fake news. I'm not saying I'm siding with Russia in what they are doing to Ukraine. But just because Russia is the communist bad guy that the west has been begging for a valid reason to hate, does not excuse the blatant fake news and outright lies.
