🔴 Ukraine War - Drone Shows Intense Close Combat Between Ukrainian & Russian Troops In Kherson

Ғылым және технология

Drone footage recorded by a resident of Kherson shows a really unique and rare glimpse on close combat between elements of two professional armies.
The video was filmed on February 24th during clashes at the Antonovsky Bridge in the battle for Kherson.
Without context the scenes show a section of Mechanized Armored Vehicles including 2 BRDM-2's and a number of about 12-16 mounted Infantry coning from the north to inspect the remains of a disabled artillery convoy in the south. What they do not know is that about 3 Squads of enemy Infantry so a total of 20-30+ soldiers is already waiting for them west of the road to initiate an ambush from close range.
Now some context to the footage.
This was recorded in Kherson on 24th of February.
During that time Russian forces advanced from the south over the bridge while the Ukrainians defended the north.
The two BRDMs were in fact Ukrainian while the attackers on the berm were Russian soldiers.
After matching the area with real time map images we were able to locate the exact location of this battle.
We also matched the military eqipment seen in this video with "comfirmed" losses on both side during the war.
During our research we found out that till now no Russian operated BRDM loss was listed there but under Ukrainian losses there were BRDM-2s and 5 of these were lost in Kherson.
So we found out that this in fact had to be Ukrainian BRDM-2's.
Now we tried to identify the dissable convoy. On the first look it appeared like the convoy must have been Russian given the fact that its location matched the course of the frontline during that time with Russian forces advancing over the bridge. However a few observations let us think twice about this.
The vehicles have no markings. Nearly all of Russian vehicles are marked with letters. While we do not think that they really mark every vehicle (SF operations for example) this regular convoy should have been marked. That was not the case. However it could have been that the markings just were not visible from the angle of the drone cam so we digged a bit deeper.
Again we looked up confirmed vehicle losses on both sides. Russia only had a couple of D-30 howitzers listed but none of the pictures to confirm the losses were taken in Kherson. So we took a look at Ukrainian side and in fact there were a couple of howitzer listed. Under them were two Ukrainian 12mm 2A65 Msta-B howitzers. After looking at the pictures from them we were really stunned to see that the pics in fact showed the same artillery in the same locations as in this video. Also on the pictures you could clearly see no markings on any of the vehicle. That led to the conclusion that the convoy was in fact a Ukrainian convoy.
This helped us to come to following conclusion:
A section of two Ukrainian BRDM-2's with two squads of 12-16 additional infantry was sent to the south from the north to inspect the remains of a destroyed Ukrainian artillery convoy. It is possible that they were sent in to scout for enemy presence and to look for survivors. What they did not knew when they were halfway at their AO was that about 3 Russianb squads with 20-30+ soldiers set up positions west of them on and behind a berm. When the Russians saw them coming close they started to engage them with small arms fire and grenades since it seemed they lacket anti-tank weapons. It could be that they already used them up on the convoy before. The Ukrainian soldiers on the BRDMs dismounted and hit the ditch right next to to them. A few also took cover behind the poles on the road but got engaged by grenades. All in all the front BRDM and its men were hit harder by the ambush. They spread out much further than the men from the second BRDM and it appeared they needed much longer time to evacuate. The second BRDM started a retreat while the first one remained at the scene when the video ends. It very likely that these two BRDMs were later destroyed on that road as the pictures of lost Ukrainian BRDM show. There are no other reports about confirmed losses during that battle when it comes to men. No Russian or Ukrainian numbers from this particular clash were released.

I was a US Marine platoon commander in Vietnam 1968-69. I lost a lot of good Marines that year. Combat is chaos, carnage, and in many ways a lot of luck is involved in staying alive. My worst day in Vietnam is when the sun rose I had 35 Marines including myself. When the Sun set that day, only 4 of us were still alive and unwounded, and after evacuating the dead and wounded, the 4 of us had to make our own way 10 miles back to the battalion position which was in the middle of nowhere. The next day, I received 17 replacements. That night the battalion was mortared and all 17 replacement Marines were wounded and evacuated. Combat really sucks. One of the best days was when my platoon came under heavy automatic fire from the North Vietnamese soldiers while we were crossing a wide dry rice paddy. We were in the middle with no cover. I made the decision that retreating would cause more casualties than immediately initiating a frontal attack with overwhelming suppressing fire. We crossed about 200 yards of completely open terrain before reaching the tree line where the enemy was. During this time I was running up and down the line of attack giving orders because my platoon only had one radio. Bullets travel faster than the speed of sound and so when they come close you will hear a loud "snap" like a small firecracker as the bullet passes the sound barrier. For a few moments, it was hand to hand fighting for some of my Marines. After is was over, I told the platoon sergeant to get a count of the casualties while I alerted the company commander that we would need medivac support. My own judgement was that we had at least 10-15 casualties, but we didn't have any. Zero. But we managed to kill 20 North Vietnamese soldiers with blood tails leading in their direction of retreat. That was proof for me that there are miracles in combat. I cannot explain who such heavy automatic fire from the enemy while we are completely exposed for 200 yards managed to miss everyone. I eventually served 3 years in combat, and that still seems impossible to me. However, there are things you can do to mitigate some of the danger in combat and especially an ambush. There ae several classic ambush plans and you need to be able to identify them because your reaction will be different for each Always have counter-ambush plans that your men know and practice them so they become muscle memory reaction. Get out of the kill zone a quickly as possible because the enemy already has the advantage of surprise and a plan. If possible, always have a fire support plan of mortars or artillery. Give them your position and a direction / distance from your position to the enemy. In a war like this with urban fighting, try to have the weapons that can best suppress the enemy. The automatic 40mm grenade launcher is ideal for a close ambush. The BRDM-2 is armored against small arms fire and has a 14.5 mm heavy machine gun turret and a coaxial 7.62 machine gun. This should have allowed the crew to better defend. I'm kind of surprised that the BRDM-2's were not more effective against infantry with small arms unless they were hit with an anti-armor weapon, which didn't seem to be the case. Even if the main tires were shot out, the BRDM-2 has "belly wheels" that could be used to get out of the kill zone. I can't criticize them just looking an a drone video. I been in 3 years of combat and I know that an ambush can cause confusion and unless you are a combat veteran, the right decisions are even harder to make. If there hadn't been a guard rail between the Russians and the BRDM-2's, I would have turned and assaulted directly into the Russians. That may not make much sense to the average person, but an aggressive assault against your position with armor is a terrifying experience. Both sides are claiming amazing gains. The Ukrainians are claiming 10,000 Russian casualties, over 200 Russian tanks, and something like 60 total aircraft shot down. I don't buy that at this point. The Russians claim those claims are exaggerated, but I don't buy their their point of view either. The truth for me is that probably both sides are suffering major losses, but that the Russians have the ability to replace their tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, ammunition, etc. and the Ukrainians don't. I would love for NATO to start providing the Ukrainians with the high-end tanks, Patriot missiles, F-35's etc. but it's not just a matter of providing high-end techologies, it's the problem of training the problem of training them to use it. An F-35 pilot goes through over a year of training before he/she is qualified to be an operational F-35 pilot. The systems are so complex and the ways to use the F-35 are so endless that it takes that long--and then it takes exercises to hone those skills. NATO can only provide the technologies that Ukraine can already use. My apologies for the long post, but I'm a 3 year combat veteran and nothing in war is black and white and no matter how trained your are, there is always the bullet with your name on it that doesn't care. I have no idea how I made it through 3 years of combat without a scratch. The hard truth is that I should have died many times, but for the grace of God, I didn't. Again, my apologies for the long post. But if I were single and young today, I might be headed to Ukraine to fight because as corrupt as that country has been, they deserve to be independent and solve their own problems. It's not like the US doesn't have it's own corruptions and sometimes at the highest levels, but I'm willing to risk my life to defend my country however flawed it might be.

This video shows how important air reconnaissance is needed in a 21'st century war and the ability to call air support when needed. Every small team should have their own small air drone for a quick air reconnaissance before going to a danger area in person. 17 years ago such system was developed for the US army but was never implemented and now people can see how important small drones will be needed in a future war for reconnaissance and survival or just small kamikaze drones to kill the enemy solders.

Drones don't record audio unless you attach a separate audio recorder to them. Best guess, the guy that recorded this with his drone recorded the audio with a phone or something and then added the audio to the video afterwards, but didn't record as much audio as he did video, so he looped it.

The Ukrainians on the Kherson Front, on the most promising route near Andrejevka and Lozova, were today forced to retreat completely to Ingulec. They lost dozens of pieces of equipment, and on the entire Kherson front, surely over a hundred and who knows how many soldiers. So, considering the efforts invested, we can safely say that the Ukrainians experienced a difficult and complete debacle in that direction. Miraculously, Liman is holding, and if the weather forecast is correct, precipitation will begin in the south of Ukraine in 3 days, and around Oskol in 7 days, which will make offensive operations difficult. What is strange to me is that nothing seems to come of the announced Ukro attack below Zaporozhye, except for a couple of test attempts that went badly. It is possible that the Ukrainians really threw everything at Liman, or that the Russians interfered with their plans by calibrating that part, and it is probably a combination of both (provided that that direction remains calm). ....it is expected that due to the mobilization of the first unit, they will appear at the front in about twenty days, and that this is a realistic period in which the Ukrainians can still do something with this number of people at the front. So, the German stock market Dax is falling apart, and what is even more indicative of the state of the real German economy is that the two stock market indices MDAX and SDAX, which trade in the shares of medium-sized and smaller German companies, have lost almost 40% since the beginning of the year, which is the same decline as during the economic crisis of 2008 The real fall is yet to come. A note about the media's spin on the number of liberal pussies fleeing Russia. Up to 50,000 people pass through the Horgoš border crossing in the busiest period (weekends in July and August) and when all 6 terminals are working. 170 cars are enough for a kilometer of the column, and if there are 4 people in the car, that means 680 people per kilometer of the column. I'm watching that CNN they say 12 kilometers of columns towards Georgia. ..how many vehicles are there and how many people fit in those vehicles. If a million people leave Russia, and they get those 5.5 million from Novorussia (and they manage to keep those territories militarily), I see it as a mutual gain. Those liberal moronoids would certainly be eager to bring in a new Yeltsin, and this way they will get many times more true patriots instead! ….The situation in the Liman direction until the end of September 29, 2022 Ukrainian formations continue to surround Liman, developing an offensive towards the territorial borders of the Luhansk People's Republic. The Liman garrison is fighting in an operational environment with superior enemy forces. ▪On the outskirts of Liman ➖The enemy tried to attack the city from three directions: from the Dibro side, from the Brusino railway station and from the Old Caravan. The garrison is holding, all attacks are repulsed. ➖The Armed Forces of Ukraine are intensively shelling Liman with all available means of destruction, including HIMARS MLRS. ▪North of Liman ➖Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine occupied Kolodezi, Zelena Dolina and cut the road Svatovo - Makeyevka - Terni - Liman. ➖On the side of Kolodezi village, a platoon of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with the support of armored vehicles, carried out combat reconnaissance in the direction of Zarechny (Kirovsk). After a fiery defeat by the LNR People's Militia artillery, the Ukrainian formations were forced to retreat. ➖Through Zarečnoe - Torskoe passes the last road that connects the Liman garrison with the territory controlled by the allied forces. Armed forces of Ukraine are attacking villages from the north from the side of Kolodezi village and from the south - from the bridgehead on the bank of the Seversky Donts. ▪West of Liman ➖UAF occupied Šandrigolovo and Novoselka. The western flank of Liman's defense in Drobishev is held by fighters of BARS-13 and 20 combined armies of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. At this stage, without the transfer of significant reinforcements and concentration of attention of the command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the direction of Liman, there is a serious danger of the fall of Liman and the further collapse of the defensive order of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. I was distracted by the looped audio track, but then I realized the only other audio available would've probably been the drone's propeller buzz or music.. So I think they went with the best option, but I would've at least trimmed the dog and the little kid out of it.

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia has continued to harbor significant resentment against Independent Ukraine, the country it still thinks of as a critical part of ‘Mother Russia’. It therefore considers the conquest of Ukraine as being vital for the restoration of its so-called “Historical Russia”.....ASSISTANCE FOR LOGISTICAL AND MEDICAL SUPPORT OF THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE.....Stand with the people of Ukraine. link to support is on my bio about thanks.

@@KuroiReaper it would, but probably not in its current scale. Ukraine is a old nation, almost old as Russia. Just because it wasnt marked or mapped, doesnt mean it didnt exist. @@annachloe5587 hi Anna, darling you need to do some research. President Putin has clearly stated on national television why he has had to send troops into Ukraine. It is nothing to do reforming the Soviet Empire. In the Ukraine you have the AZOV SS far right Militia battalion. Plenty of info on telegram. 14,000 Ukrainian Russian speakers killed since 2014. Search face book...American Voices. 2014 Vice President Joe Bidens phone call to the new US installed President of Ukraine...its an eye opener . Corruption and blackmail. Russia is opposed to the New World Order, WEF, World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwarz, which the Ukraine Gov are part of. Klaus Schwarz has openly admitted his organisation has infiltrated Western Governments and is implying his doctrines. This in itself is treason by any gov that follow his ideology. A foreign power influencing Western Democracy. Next we have Russia who has no central banking owned by the Rothschild mafia, this family are responsible for millions if not billions of deaths over the centuries. Funding wars on both sides and eliminating Royal blood lines and installing there own. ISIS had its Caliphate in Syria/Iraq. The Cabal NWO has its Caliphate in the Ukraine, and this is why they continue to promote war in the Ukraine. The Ukraine people suffer the longer war continues. Please do some research and you will see the truth. We need the World to wake up and see the evil that divides us all in humanity .

It's quite possible that the BDRM fire that appeared to be too high, hitting the building, was actually aimed at Russian troops that were inside it. It would make sense, during an ambush, to have an MG or two providing a base of fire for the riflemen to advance under. That building would have been ideal in this context.
