Hey if you want to play ball with the EU (Switzerland is surrounded by the EU) you have to play along by their rules....not some old neutrality rules from WWII when the Swiss (and their banks) made lots of money off of Nazi oppression.

Switzerland president's proposal is despicable and must be rejected. If he intends to become a mediator, he must travel or send delegates to Russia. Switzerland is not a neutral "partner" in this situation, had never been anyway. Hypocrite!

Ofcourse they're not neutral. They're part of the system so it's impossible for them to be neutral. I think Russians couldn't care less what they got to say anyway now. In fact, Russians probably don't care what any of them have to say. Time for negotiations for Russians is gone, and West sees negotiations as Russia must withdraw from Ukraine's 1991 borders. So to Russians it doesn't matter anyway.

You are right. Russia has already lost the war. Russian has lost 2/3 of its pre-war export markets. You can bet that no foreign companies will ever invest in russia after seeing Renault, Heineken, etc. plants being stolen by Kremlin. Russia is now fully dependent and a vassal of China. Ocheretino has now fallen and it is a serious blow to Ukraine. It is a position on a hill that provides access to the flank and even the rear of other Ukrainian positions The Russian Armed Forces can now develop an offensive in several directions at once as soon as they tighten up the logistics. The operation in Ocheretino was brilliant. The 2nd line of defense of the AFU west of Avdiivka is now gone. In the coming week we will see active painting of maps in red to the west of Avdeevka. Zelensky needs to start explaining why Ocheretino has no strategic significance because Russia will make huge gains now from its fall.

I can give 61 billion reasons why giving Ukraine $61 billion is a waste of the American taxpayers money.

Actually the $ 61 billion is a good US strategic move to keep Ukraine in the fight and confusion to Russia which is run by a hostile regime. Consider it merely an addition to the bloated US defense budget. Its too bad that this aid was delayed six months. @@JosephBisio Dear Joe, it's Вугледар. The letter "gamma" in Cyrillic is "g" like "gas" or "glad". Some guys chose to transliterate it by "h" because the word "hotel" in Russian is "Гостиница" (Gostinitsa), with that peculiar way to pronounce the "g". Been there and around, many times over the last 30 some years. Locals think that my Russian language skills are not so bad after all. Thank you for your interest in our Great Slavic culture. Paka

Michael Maloof, a former senior security policy analyst at the Department of Defense, pointed out the very same thing. He expressed skepticism about the aid's ability to change the strategic military balance in the ongoing conflict with Russia. According to Maloof, much of the funds designated for Ukraine will end up with U.S. defense contractors to replenish American military stockpiles, thereby circulating money within the U.S. economy while making a big show of supporting Ukraine. He points out that under this arrangement, only older U.S. military equipment will be relocated to Ukraine and that will not enhance Ukraine's military capabilities at all. - TFIGlobal

I saw a video of two guys from the 47th near ocheritino saying they were the last 2 surviving out of 200 in their division. They were crying and looked broken. Very sad

This is what has me baffled. Ukraine is collapsing. There can be no doubt about it now. It is a slow motion demolition at present, but it risks picking up its pace. No amount of aid will stop this. It is impossible. So why does the US send this aid? When Ukraine collapses despite the aid, the humiliation will be much worse than if they had just cut their losses.
