No, Farage didn’t make it clear , it was an excuse for Putin not a reason. Ukrainian people did not want to be ruled by Russia or a Russian stooge. The Eu were not keen on them joining due to the high levels of corruption in Ukraine (just like Russia though). For exactly the same reason and because of Putins fear NATO was not keen on admitting Ukraine, but his invasion changed all that. Sweden and Finland staunchly neutral for decades also reacted badly to Putins invasion and use of force. Putin has brought these issues closer to home by his own actions. Putin didn’t like a succesful Ukraine on his doorstep showing him up.

Belarus and most of Ukraine were parts of the Polish Commonwealth between 15th and 18th century while Breslau (now Wroclaw) was German. Should we then claim all those territiries and take them back by force, starting again what we thought was a distant past in Europe? No, starting wars in Europe for territorial gains is forbidden and cannot be accepted, whatever reasons you give to back it. Russia is not exempt from this rule and must dearly pay for breaking it!

I have a question for those journalists and politicians. Do the think the war in Ukraine should just go on and on, with 1000s being slaughtered each week, or do they think there should be a negotiated peace, their quick to call for ceasefires in Gaza, but apparently Ukrainian lives are not as worthwhile. Anyone with any sense can see Ukraine will never win any war with Russia, politicians in the West who are playing along with that fiction are doing nothing but ensuring thousands of Ukrainian Mothers will be mourning their sons and daughters, along with thousands of Russian. Call me a cynic, but those same politicians and Journalists, who apparently hate Russia, never call out Germany, who, still import Russian Gas, German money that's paid for the gas then finances Russian Arms to continue the War, no don't mention that, inconvenient. When these journalists and politicians criticise someone for opposing war and wanting peace, ask them what is the alternative, endless war, endless death, i suppose as long as its not their sons or daughters.
