Great speech from the deadly Nightshade at 43:33. She spoke of her upbringing through sports, and that while it's good to sit at home and watch Gladiators, but also to get off the sofa sometimes and do something active. That's an inspiring message from her, especially nowadays (2020s) where a lot more of us are overweight including myself

Yes I think sometimes it takes people like the Gladiators and the contenders to help jump start people's motivation to be fit and active. I remember watching this show when it aired and I was 10 years old and with the Gladiators being celebrities and role models of the time and it really encouraged us to be active and fit. It's a shame they don't have a show like this nowadays as it's very easy for people to be more sedentary!.

@@greenkitty82 Gladiators is returning later this year on BBC One. It was filmed earlier this year at the Sheffield Arena, home of the 1995 live shows, and will be presented by Bradley and Barney Walsh.

Adamle was probably a good deal older, and smaller than Fashanu, though!!!!!

Fash was the real enforcer of the Crazy Gang.

Fash didn't really win that. You all saw the way the stagehand actually leaned forward and passed him the rope at the top of the travelator when he wasn't making progress. Neil would have won if it was a real match because John Anderson would have been all over that if it wasn't for charity.

Agreed. I can only think the reasons they were used are because the producers didn't want to leave them out or maybe the celebs didn't do as much training as regular contenders. Regardless the men ran the lady gladiators ragged. You can't deny biology.
