    Hi Lavnya, Excellent video and summarizing the NHS titles. From your experience and clinical encounter, are there many international medical graduates who have completed their training with MRCP / FRCP in home country, then started working in internal medicine in UK? What position would they be holding? I would assume most of them would join as SAS level doctor?

  • @lavnya70

    @lavnya70

    4 жыл бұрын

    It depends on the clinical experience. If you have 2-3 years clinical experience in internal medicine and have completed MRCP - you can normally start at a registrar level post. SAS doctors normally have more than 4 years of clinical experience in that specialty.

    PLAB or MRCS would be a better option. PLAB will be best if you are newly qualified doctor. MRCS will be best if you are a senior doctor with 1-2 years of surgical experience. MRCP is not needed for the surgical specialties. MRCP is only necessary to enter the higher medical specialties like gastroenterology, dermatology, cardiology, neurology, renal medicine, respiratory etc.
