Speaking as someone who leaves his car at home Monday to Friday and uses a bicycle to commute, I'd say that it's probably less than 10% of motorists who display this kind of attitude towards cyclists and pedestrians. The problem is that the sheer number of drivers on the road means you're going to encounter this kind of thing regularly.

The indicator comes on just as the blue P for parking sign comes into view so I think they intended to pull over to let the back log clear up. They may have slid once already and that's why they are going at a snails pace. The white Audi is impatient and overtakes at least 2 vehicles to get to the front and then decides to punish the blue car by break checking them. This winds up the blue car who tries to then overtake the Audi and when that fails they sit very close to it's bumper. This is too much for the Pug and it spins out again. I'd bet those tires are bald on the Pug, definitely in MOT fail territory.

Sure, his road positioning was correct, but as soon as he hit's the horn, he decides "No, I will NOT let you cut in!"... and then pushes forward into a narrowing wedge where a collision was inevitable. If he'd just backed off and let the white van cut in, he'd be able to day "You idiot!" and we'd all agree!

If he didn't indicate left to show he was parking, then it's usually best to assume they are temporarily stopping for an obstruction. If he was parking your then best to check to see if it's clear and proceed with caution - don't blast past. Personally, in the lorry drivers situation I'd have indicated right to show I was waiting but some eejits ignore that too.

@@ChrisCaaa If it is a straight 2-lane road, sometimes with vehicles parked up on the side of it (e.g. as we see in front of the truck), and where you are following a truck you probably can only see the section of the road to the right of the truck and maybe a little bit ahead. If you were following much further back, sure you could probably have seen the car ahead turning out - but we don’t know how close that van was behind the truck. Ok so you get that scene so far? You are behind a truck and can’t see anything ahead. Right, now imagine if the truck slows without indicating. Why would it slow? Because of heavy traffic? Didn’t look like a high traffic road. Because it was about to overtake an obstruction? No indicator. Because it was going to stop? No indicator. Personally, I see three potential faults here: 1. The van driver could have waited until the truck completely stopped before assuming it was parking 2. The truck driver should remember that people travelling close behind them probably cant see anything and need you to use your indicators so they know what you are doing 3. If the van was following closely, it could maybe have followed a bit further back so it had a better view of what was ahead (IF) It would also have been useful to see a minute or so of the footage leading up to this, because if the truck had just passed some other parked vehicles and then pulled over to the left at the start of this clip it would have made this look quite different. Watching it back again, it does actually look like the truck was on the right before the start and was pulling over to the left
