2:10 If you're always having incidents, you have to wonder what you could be doing differently. Firstly, if someone is overtaking, let them, don't try and berate them on the horn as it's just immature and doesn't really fix anything. You aren't going to be late by just coming off the accelerator for a few seconds. Next, the two vehicles not seeing you when merging left could easily be avoided by driving in a staggered formation. Defensive driving is not about flashing your lights and leaning on the horn. Avoid having a vehicle directly next to you when you're not overtaking

not to mentio the road marking clearly show it's a merge point, the cammer is 100% in the wrong you should give way to allow people to merge, he said this is the f*ing problem and was still not breaking /slowing to open a gap for him to enter, in fact was gaining on the white car in front cammer needs to learn rules of the road and what road signs mean, and his constant acceleration to block overtakes is illegal, think they need to go read rul 168 of the highways code...

#14 Not sure if the cammer wasn't initially at fault - he may have abruptly changed lanes, which forced the other driver to swerve. His subsequent reaction however, that's pure BMW driver pathology. Got what he deserved, it seems.

Yes both drivers are dicks. The cammer starts it off by cutting into the lane. The BMW then feels like he needs to get back in front. The cammer obviously then beeps (from the reaction from the woman in brown coat) rather than just raising his hand and saying sorry. BMW driver gets out but then thinks better of it. The cammer (rather than just driving on) pulls up the side of him and makes a gesture. This sets the BMW driver off even more. I'm guessing the BMW driver didn't attend court and was sentenced in his absence. Any decent lawyer would have put pressure on the CPS to drop this and I suspect it would have. Oh and why did the cammer send in the clip with the sound removed? Because it will show what part he played in all this.

Most likely our cammer submitted the clip without audio because they wanted to hide their use of the horn and the swearing going on in the car. BMW driver is acting like a pillock, but it goes to show that using the horn and your lights to have a tantrum doesn't really achieve anything. Personally, I used my P plates when I was driving somewhere I was uncertain about. Could be a fast road that I haven’t done before, a complicated roundabout, something I’d never done before like a multi-storey car park, etc. Nothing to do with the fact I couldn’t drive or was “surprised I’d passed my test”, I was just letting other drivers know that I was still new, doing this alone for the first time, and doing something I hadn’t come across in my lessons or test so to give me a bit of space to judge.

0:55 Something one should clarify: this tricky situation was not caused by the tanker truck. The driver did pick the best time to pull out since traffic was slowed due to the truck pulling in already. The reason this was a bit iffy is the poor layby design. It's always being said, to not stop on the hard shoulder to have a break because it's too dangerous, yet, these type of layby is exactly that. The fact that there's no accelleration lane either is what causes this and I am genuinely astonished how people can be so brave (or stupid) to continue to use these excuses of a rest area.

I think the truck driver who pulled out kind of did the right thing, it was the best time other than waiting what would probably never have come, for a clear long enough chance to do so. He chose when that other truck pulled in, blocking that lane anyway, and gave more chance of any vehicle after that truck pulling in of being slow and easily avoiding any accident. Judging the time of day, type of road, id have done the same thing. Waiting for a long enough clear gap would never have come.

#8 Can I just say that you SHOULD NOT use your warning triangle on a motorway. Firstly, if you get hit from behind whilst getting it out of your boot, some poor bugger is going to have to scrape your remains off both vehicles and I've heard that's not a pleasant job. Secondly, walking down the hard shoulder to put it at the required distance is also potentially suicide. Finally, the triangle could be 'sucked' into the live lane by the wake of large vehicles, causing an obstruction on the carriageway. Just get out (on the side farthest from the carriageway if possible) and get the hell up the embankment or over the barrier at least. Don't spend any more time than necessary near traffic.

I would have walked forward as the barrier appears to end. One of the reasons I don't like Smart motorways as it takes time to get a family out and to a place of safety, just think of a 12 seater minibus with OAP passengers. Hard shoulders are dangerous enough, there was case on the M5 where a car stopped for a puncture, a passing truck lost a pair of wheels, these hit the husband getting tools from the boot, jumped onto the roof and badly injured or killed his wife sat in the car. The police were baffled until the wheels were found in a field. Another police unit noticed the truck in a service area but the two incidents were not immediately connected.

Re the first video. In the days before Dashcams, I had something very similar happen to me. Guy in a beat up Fiesta came haring around a corner like the one in this, but the camber on the road caused him to go slightly airborne. I managed to shift ever so slightly to the left and he just missed me as his wheels landed back on the road. He then lost control, fishtailed, and as I watched him in the rearview mirror, he slammed into a tree, spun and the engine was thrown clear from it's mountings into a field to my left. If there had been anyone directly behind me they would have been seriously injured by the flying engine. When I stopped and walked back to what was left of the car, there were two guys sitting in the front staring into space and I honestly thought they were dead, but no, they were alive and actually managed to clamber out of the car, I called the police and ambulance and then made my feelings on his driving ability clear, but they seemed oblivious as to what I was talking about.

Big old boxer dog stood in middle of road, perpendicular to traffic, owning it. No owner, just stood looking at the vets we live opposite to 😂 Turns out 'Shaz' had gotten out her garden and gone for a walk and decided the middle of a main road was the place to make a last stand. We got her to the vets, quick scan and phone call later and she was back with her owner. Never seen a dog command traffic like that since.

The comment about P plates is rather unfounded. I passed my test a month ago at the age of 31, and grew up in a family who didn't have a car, so to me driving is not something that I feel extremely comfortable doing yet. Passing a driving test doesn't automatically mean that you will be a brilliant driver on the road, and I find the P plates just make me feel safer and the majority of people are more understanding. For instance, if I stall the car a couple of times because I'm getting worked up.

A "P" plate *should* steady other drivers up they *should* give you a bit of space but sadly in today's "gotta get there 5 minutes ago, get out of my way" driving world, courtesy is singularly lacking. Instead of recognising the hazard and giving them space to minimise risk, you chose to carry on like they weren't there so you could berate them on the horn for their mistake. Their driving was poor, they should have just accepted the mistake and taken the exit, but that still doesn't excuse your abysmal attitude

So many drivers pick a unique route across roundabouts we should drop back so if he veers into our lane we have little problem as we can accommodate this without changing our selected course or speed. If we were badly positioned and had to brake suddenly a vehicle behind might hit us.

Comment on the comments about 'blind spots' in cars. There is NO such thing as a 'blind spot' in a car, there's just a few 'I can't be bothered to look properly spots.' In vans and trucks there are some blind spots that the driver needs mirrors properly set to check in, and failure to set the mirrors or use them is another driver fault along the same lines of being idiotically stupid.

In the good old days of wing mirror there was a better view alongside the vehicle, sadly too many cyclists and pedestrians getting hurt they were moved to the door. As you said lots are not set right or even used. Another point is to position your vehicle to give a clue to other drivers in addition to the turn signal.

I was confident and passed my test but still had P plates as I wasn’t as quick off the start at lights and back then we didn’t go on motorways until we oasssed so it was more to make others aware to be patient and expect potential stalls or extra time to make sure it’s okay to do something. I always thought P plates were a good idea until my daughter passed her test a few years ago. She'd been living in Australia where P plates are mandatory for new drivers and we thought it a good idea. How wrong was I. She passed her test first time and was genuinely a very good driver but the amount of impatient, intolerant mongs on the road was a real eye opener to me,so on a couple of occasions I put the plates on my car and was amazed how badly I was treated, far worse than without. Funny how most of the time you say the cammer is in the right yet half of them would fail their test the way they drive now, for instance not letting a car over take, you're taught to slow down and let them overtake. If you did that in your test that would be a major fault and you'd fail your test.

9:38 Cammer did nothing legally wrong there, but it was pretty bad driving. The entire clip I could tell it was going to be an issue like this because the cars weren't staggered enough. Hold off for two seconds, especially when entering a roundabout, to give people space, instead of just blindly assuming other users will do what you expect. I know this is mentioned but to say "Cammer did nothing wrong" gives the false impression that holding back to minimise risk there is an optional, superfluous precaution

As a Dutch guy i find the roundabout videoS always confusing since in ONE video a cammer meets an asswipe doing the wrong manouvre and in the next video the same asswipe manouvre is done by the cammer and that's okay. Roundabouts vary a lot. Many dual lane ones have the one lane exiting at the next exit and the other lane exiting at the second exit, and some allow both lanes to exit at the second exit. This is where vehicle indicators should be used and better signage.

  • @kwlkid85

@@BH-FZ6 Most UK roundabouts with lots of lanes are setup as a spiral so lanes slowly head off at each exit. This means if you join in the inner lane you'll be at the outer lane(s) by the time you reach your exit. As long as no one messes up what lane they're in you shouldn't have any conflicts at exits.

I drive in Vietnam and new roads by me are four lanes in each direction, the two nearside are for motorbikes the next for trucks and the fourth for coaches and cars. This only works when the police are not around. Roundabouts even though they have four lanes everybody uses the inner most lane, the right of way is the largest vehicle whos on the roundabout or approaching it. Approaching vehicle that wish to take the first exit signal right, all other signal left and then signal right after passing the exit before. Trucks just use the hazard lights for what ever they wish to do. Motorcyclist who have found the exit they want, may signal and the leave it on for the rest of the journey. they will also peel across to one of the outside lanes. At rush hour there's hundreds of them weaving in and out. The difficult one is making a right turn across the MC lanes, I signal early and gradually move over in my SUV, the local driver stop when they reach the turn and then attempt the turn that takes for ages. Watching these videos just makes me laugh and I can't wait to drive in the UK again, it's so easy there.

  • @SKYWURX

I would suggest both. Drunk and from a country that uses LH drive cars. It was clear they genuinely thought that driving on the right was correct (understandable and easily done if your new to the country and/or distracted or driving on 'autopilot'), however the fact they then saw multiple cars coming towards them in the same lane should have immediately clued them in ("Oh! that's right we drive on the left here.") but the fact they were already driving overly slow (overcompensation is common in drunk drivers) then just stopped and sat there for such a long time indicates they REALLY didn't know what was going on. Its not a complicated thought process to go through when you have multiple cars driving towards you in the same lane. It IS complicated if you happen to be under some type of influence at the time.
