Honest critique here. You and I appear to have the same problem with consistency. I come up with a plan and stick to it even when I mess up the shape. I get tunnel vision on the table instead of reordering my shots based on new information when the cue ball isn’t where it was supposed to be. It’s really hard to break out of that, but I think it would help. Plan at least three balls ahead but don’t stick to that plan if it doesn’t work out. Go to plan b, c, d. Just a friendly observation, brother.

Who am I to give advice but here I go anyway: When breaking I would ignore the break cloth until all the balls stop motion, so I don't ruin my break by thinking about grabbing iy off the table. Great videos Josh.

It's hard on the ice.
It's a terrible feeling when you're off and not playing well. I have a very hard time snapping out of it and getting back in stroke. I played in our local tournament last night. I won two and lost two. I was shooting really bad. After the tournament, I got together with some buddies and raced to 9 for $100/man (winner keeps the table). I won and it made me feel much better. Sometimes the little break in action makes the difference lol. Keep it up with the great videos my friend and your commentary is spot on 👍

Hey Josh, Here is another tip when you're playing someone like Roger. Tip 1 Josh you played down to his level, you have played this guy and you know you struggle at beating him. That's because you're already giving him an advantage over you in your head. Remember you're not playing Roger you're playing the table. If you can beat the table you can beat Roger. You want to make the table your friend and enemy at the same time. Tip 2 It looked like you didn't pick up on Roger's weaknesses and/or when he struggled to make his shot. I noticed that when Roger would shoot the 8 ball he would Jump up on the shot and miss. He did this with other shots too. Yes I know people get 8 Ball jitters and they can miss. I noticed that it seemed to be more of the angle of the shot. meaning Roger might have a bad eye and prone to missing those types shot. So use that to your advantage. Tip 3 I don't know if you are aware of this but when you're playing on Diamond pool tables bar boxes. when shooting into the corner pockets from the long rails not when the balls are right on the rail. Lets say a little off the rail to a diamonds width or so. you can fire the ball into the pocket. you want to aim at the short rail where it touches the black part of the pocket you're trying to make the ball in. it's the end of the short rail that hangs over the shelf of the pocket. The ball will drop like a rock. you do not want to touch the long rail at all. you will miss for sure. unless you are shooting a soft shot. I hope I explained that enough for you to understand. Try it you will be surprised at how hard you can hit the ball and still make it. if you didn't know already.

@danp6101 yes, def understand that concept. Problem is, when my stroke is off, I'm not as accurate
I heard once that when a pool player misses a shot, they scratch their head trying to figure out why. Unfortunately, this leaves a bald spot on their head. So....... how many have you missed??? ( ALL IN FUN, JUST KIDDING!!)

Not trying to throw shade, but wow. I live in Missouri and am a piddly 4-5 in APA 8-Ball. And I don't make as brutal of mistakes as the gentlemen in this video. The shot selection is meh at best, bridges by both are unstable, and the misses aren't even close half the time. Diamond tables with Simonis cloth and not able to control speed literally at all. And this was a 7v6 match?????? In Missouri, 7's might let you see the table...once every 3 games. MIGHT.
