You really have found your niche Josh. You are doing great things for the every day pool player. The pros, the shortstops and the bangers are not the bread and butter of the sport. Its guys like you that makes pool great and help educating every day players.. You are the meat and potatoes of pool brother!

OMG man...the first 2 runouts and that left spin 8 on the rail shot was incredible! One of the comments below was dead on, the commentary on how you play your patterns and how to shoot each ball has been super helpful for me when I play too! Josh be puttin' in that work boieeeeeeeee
Definitely helping my game by listening to your spin selection on each shot. Am impressed with your cue ball control.

What’s up Gary, hope to see you go to level 4 soon. Josh, great shooting in the match, you were in your winning zone, commentating was excellent and helpful as well by both of you. How about match with Gary against a 4,5 level player?
I was looking at your open bridge and I love how you use your middle knuckle for a little more guidance and I can’t wait to get on a table to try it. Lol.

I'm glad I found your channel. I watch the pros play and I can't do all that stuff anymore, LOL. But we're in the same league and your videos help me. You're just a tad bit better than me, but I only get to play once a week for three or four hours. Your commentating is pretty cool too. 😀

I feel I was worse for about a season, now it's second nature for me. Not overthinking is the biggest part of pool, but not thinking at all you'll never start to win against the 6's and 7's. It's a fine line we walk. Loving the content these videos have helped with my pattern play ALOT and am running racks myself now!

💯 agree! Thank you
Good match Josh. A few comments here: 1. Josh, you can certainly play and know the game - but you need to slow down a bit on your back stroke and I think your bridge is too long on many shots. 2. Warren needs to work a lot on his stroke. His fine tuning shots are far too fast, his back stroke is wayyy too fast, and there is literally no transition pause from the back stroke to the forward stroke. This causes him to miss easy shots. His alignment is also an issue. 3. There is no doubt eight ball is much much more of a thinking game than nine or 10 ball. The fact you have so many options is what can cause a lot of problems. Nine and 10 ball are exactly what you said Josh - "more of a shooters game" and much more straight forward. There isn't nearly as much thinking that needs to be done in nine or 10 ball. Really enjoy these videos.

31:07 if you're playing 3 foul rule in 8 ball then he could have hit the 8 to surround your ball and you would have to try to hit your ball or you lose. 8 ball 3 fouls is alternating you, him, you. You fouled on purpose so be careful when you do that.
@Amateur_Pool

I don't think apa has a 3 full rule for 8 ball. Great tip for other rule sets, for sure!
@AdamMarr
10 ай бұрын
APA and BCA do not have 3 foul rule. You'll mostly only see this is higher level tournaments to keep play from stagnating, most of the local tournaments I play in don't even have 3 foul.
How can Gary be a 3 when he thinks like a 6? Is he hiding his skills for the appropriate time?
@Amateur_Pool
10 ай бұрын
LOL, you got us! He's sandbagging :)
Ok Josh what’s typical. Not what you specifically do but a typical expectation. I had a guy blocked except for 1% of the 8 ball and my opponent hits the extreme edge and I personally see it move and settle where it was. My captain (6 with 25 yes of experience) and I (5 with 2 yrs of exp) he tells me because my opponent did not see it move it wasn’t my call. Now I will go to my grave and call it a good shot. No one else saw it as a good shot including the shooter. As good sportsmanship goes, I feel I’m in the right. Wtf am I supposed to do? Ignore the table?
@Amateur_Pool
10 ай бұрын
That's a tough call. If there is no spotter called, it goes to the shooter, regardless of how the shooter saw it.. usually best not to argue with anyone when that happens, as it can just throw you off of your game
What kind of nonsense is this at 24:30? You hit a ball with your elbow, put it back to where it was and carried on?!? In another match you've played, you hit a vall with your cue too and just carried on like nothing had happened. Don't you play by the rules in the amateur league in America? In the UK, they're fouls. I thought they were fouls everywhere?
@Amateur_Pool
