@@naledimosikara7861 not really into Gidle songs. I’m a casual listener. And especially since Soojin left whom I also loved, I’m not motivated to support the company whose screwing them up. I sense another Clc disaster and I’m not sticking along for the ride. I wish then the best though. I like some of their songs (Hwaa and the album was beautiful). And they have great voices. Hope they go far.

It’s extremely impressive for Yuqi to write and sing songs in her second language in a country that speaks her third language and be so good at what she does. We need to recognize how talented she is and how hard she’s worked.

Yuqi's backstory and why giant is such a beautiful song. If you didn't know, she came in Korea as a foreigner and her parents is against about her decision being a kpop idol. Since she's one of the 5% student in Beijing with population of 21 million, she's really genius. She could have secured her future but she listened to her heart and prove to her parents that she has chosen the right path. When she came in korea, She was so lonely because she doesn't have any friends, she learned new language, work part-time jobs while being a trainee because she didn't get financial support from her parents. That's why she make this song to prove that she'll rise up like a giant despite any challenges she'll take. Yuqi, you've worked so hard, we appreciate this song so as you. We love you!!

The storyline is actually very interesting. In the beginning we see two people, her parents?(maybe). She has a mirror which probably represents her self confidence and image. She seems to be exploring and figuring out the world and what she wants to do. Later she is handed a key which could represent that someone chose a path for her rather than she herself. With the key she gets up the stairs and unlocks a door but everyone is bigger than her(like giants). She is very small compared to them but gets help from one of the giants to get further up. When she is on her own, she cannot face all the obstacles of life beacuse she lacks the experience(and possibly interest) . So her self confidence crumbles. She falls deep down and at this point she has no key. With one glimmer of hope her self confidence and image are repaired. Now she looks at her younger self and combines her experiences to stand up taller. She could be exploring the path she wanted to(music?) . We can see her shadow is a lot taller than her at this point which could represent confidence. She also has no key. She made it there on her own. Because this is the path she chose, all the obstacles feel like they're worth overcoming because her goal is worth it. Finally she is as tall as a giant by her own efforts. Just a theory.

Interesting. Yes, they said it was about her growth & progression thru life. Also, sadly this video and her other (bonnie & clyde) were low budget due to her crap company Cube and time pressure to do the Running show-series in Asia, so this video was just a quick & inexpensive animated MV as she had to go away show filming, but at least the MV had some meaning which happily you observed :)

I can’t 😭😭😭 my heart this song strikes me every time like this is such a good song for any people but especially those who struggle with getting past obstacles and need encouraging to keep going. I’m literally crying. Idk why but only Kpop songs has actually made me cry and HER Especially. GIDLE is popular in korea but international fans should recognize their talent too. See yuqi's solo songs it's really amazing but it has only low views. This is way better than many popular gg songs!! I hope everyone recognize their talent

I am Chinese. I feel that Chinese people can understand more metaphors in this MV, including too much: the key may be korean pop, the hand that gives her a chance (cube), the fruit represents her debut, the branches wrapped in front and back (injuries from China and South Korea), the hands that protect and guide her (parents, team members and fans), the change of hairstyle (growth), and finally fearless of those rumors and looking at the light in the distance.

Bonnie & Clyde and Giant are my fav solo songs among all of the solo songs released in 2021 and till now. Other kpop artists are good too but I get bored listening to their song after a while. These 2 songs never bore me. Yuqi deserves to be one of the best soloist in Kpop.

Kpop is becoming like a money making business and it's like a competition But here our GIDLE producing their own music and do what they wanted to do They are the real GIANTS of this kpop industry I am so proud to stan these legends.

It is always a money making business. So most company always are looking for the safest route out possible. So there are cliche, similar concept and similar choreography a lot of time. Which is ok, but too much means the lack of creativity in the industry which is kinda bad. But the artistry of Gidle had always been on another level from the rest. They are always doing some interesting new concepts. The few group or people that are doing this is Shinee, Sunmi, Chungha and Gidle. Everyone else fall at the spectrum of Blackpink or Twice....everyone is trying yes, but when concept is super similar you know the company is going...Oh shit that sell well we are gonna copy that.... And it failed. Safe is good sometimes but playing it too safe is ehhhhhhh.

The crazy part is she's been singing like this since she was 3 years old, like her dad taught her.

this song is so deep. sometimes when i feel down listening to it gives me all the confidence i need. it represents me so much, evey time no matter what i will rise up like a giant

Yuqi have several great English songs that’s so underrated. She should get more promotion both in Korean and abroad!

I heard this track on sputify and I didn't know it was k-pop!!! 😳 she sings incredibly cool, in Russia we have a very "western" singer Zivert, whom Yuqi's voice reminded me a lot. I LOVE such voices, such a velvety timbre that I can feel it with my fingertips

Yuqi's voice is breathtaking here but not enough people are talking about the MV!! the animation and direction is equally amazing >_< one thing i noticed was how in the beginning of the mv, hands lift the girl up from the shadows, all the while moving towards the orb of light. but when she finally reaches the light she's been chasing, it burns her and the mirror she was holding (self perception? self confidence?) became shattered. thinking about how yuqi wrote and produced this song, there's so many heart-wrenching and inspiring interpretations for the animation, but either way the mv and yuqi are amazing

This is the first solo song I have listened to from Yuqi and she's so talented, I think her songs deserve more promotion, especially so they can reach international fans like myself, wish I discovered her sooner honestly
