Actually, Yuqi recently said that her voice was not born like that deep. She got a heavy fever and cried for a long time at the kindergarten period. Then her voice became very deep, even deeper than now. Then she learned to sing and her voice became a little bit higher than before just like now. She used to be insecure about her voice but now it bocome special.

I lived in the US for over a decade, heard English being spoken on a daily basis and this to me was just like any other English artist singing. Her pronunciation is good. Way better than others I have heard as you can understand perfectly what she is saying. Also you have to give her credit, it is not her native language on top of already learning Korean. Just amazing to me.

Don't forget that Yuqi was the first to solo for Idle (with two low-budget, unpromoted Cube videos), during the worst of the meritless Soojin scandal, when Cube was even privately contemplating disbanding Idle while putting all its resources & efforts into LightSum instead. Shuhua and Minnie are also chinese, albeit from TW and TL, so we'll see whether Minnie's upcoming solo gets promoted. I'm sure it will given Idle's success, unless Minnie heads home for TL... this is one of the best k-pop songs out there and as a non fan, i’m listening to it since day one. it’s sad that it went unnoticed by a lot of people. her deep voice is wonderful, lyrics are so good, and i’m rooting a comeback from Yuqi💜

I first discovered g-idle through tomboy (go to workout bop 😭✋✋), and I’ve always loved listening that girl with the beautiful, deep voice. Not exactly a stan, but I believe Yuqi really stands out so much to me, especially in the K-pop genre full of bubble-gum-high female voices. I hope Yuqi keeps releasing singles like this one!!
