Hi there, great comment! Yep, I agree with you all the way!! I worked with animals, and like children, I found that if you Explain clearly what you mean, and can negotiate with them, rather than bullying, and "Because I Said So!!" - with patience, trust and honesty, so much better is the relationship between parent and child, as well as guardian and critter. So interesting to get a sense of how dogs worry when their pack members aren’t close by. Bunny seemed to fret about “dad” even after assurances that he was coming home soon. And her reaction to the noise outside was fascinating, too. There was a guard-dog need to check the area, to make sure for herself that the noise was really gone. This illustrates dog behavior so well, but we rarely have access to how a dog is really thinking. Bunny is so cute and sweet, and still very much a doggie in her reactions. And, also, just every now and then speak with a person. ❤️
As a linguist, this is AMAZING! Bunny has her own sort of grammar structure going on, even with her understanding yours. Went dad - VS(O) - “went dad (to work)” Here come - O(S)V - “Come (you) here” or, “You, come here” or, “you, come to me” Cat dog want - OSV, “the cat the dog wants”, or really, if we assume her grammar structure is SVO like English, it is topicalising the cat. So, it more translates as, “it is the cat that the dog wants.” It seems like her core grammar structure could be OSV and switches to VSO for past tense. But, so far the subject remains the second thing when 3-word sentences are made. In previous sentences such as copula/ to be sentences, “Bunny dog. Mom human”, they still do not violate OSV because of the idea related to topicalisation (“It is Bunny who is a dog” or “It is Mom who is human.”) because these are sentences in present tense and it has been recorded in many languages a lack of a copula verb does not change the conclusion of understanding.

When I first found your channel I SOBBED thinking of the dogs I've known. The dogs my parents neglected in my childhood.. All the times I treated my dog like he was just a dumb animal.. All the times he's wanted my attention and I ignored or even regretfully yelled at him with misplaced anger because I was too busy or stressed or frustrated with something now realizing he was trying to help me calm down. They're so much smarter than we realize. Growing up I always wanted the dog(s) to come inside and live with us and my Mom would say, " _When I was a kid_ dogs lived outside and ate table scraps and lived for a long time, the dog doesn't belong in the house *it* belongs outside!" That neglect carried on inside the house too, but that's a different story.. My relationship with Pilot, my 10yo black lab, has changed dramatically after finding these videos. I treat him like the king he is because the truth is he deserves so much more than he's gotten. Thank you for helping me increase my EQ and the quality of our relationship ❤

I think Bunny consider "work" and "walk" very similar both in sound and in meaning: when dad is at work, Bunny doesn't know exactly what work is, but must be something important, imperative for dad. Dog must walk outside each day for their well being. So i think Bunny thinks than when dad is at "work" dad must in fact be doing something very similar to what "walk" is for a dog. The words in addition sound similar! In today's video Bunny presses "dad walk" i think Bunny meant "Dad is at work". Koko the ape that learned ASL, heard the English word for her favourite vegetable many times, but wasn't tought a sign for it. Koko used a sign of a similar sounding English word. I think Bunny did the same here. Bunny used WALK button to say dad is at WORK, because it sounds similar. Missing a button for "work", used a button that sounds similar.
I think Bunny uses settle to also mean soothe or ease (the opposite of anxious). Maybe she sensed your tension and wanted you to feel settled inside. During the moving videos, Bunny seems to be asking mom to ease the stress by asking mom to settle bunny.
She’s so special.
"" Concerned, dad went' ...sweetest thing ever (new sub btw ;)
Bunny being silly is the beginning of peek a boo. When she ducks her head as she is behind the chair, you could ask, "Where's Bunny? Where did she go? Where's Bunny?" And when she emerges, you could say, "there's Bunny! There she is! I see Bunny now!." I bet she would pick up the game immediately. It's just a question of whether or not you want to spend years (or what feels like) playing peek a boo. ;-)
So cute the way she answered yes to bring a silly girl. 😄❤️ Also loved the "uha." 😄
This is incredible and revolutionary! And super cute
