The graphical style reminds me of Kirby's Dreamland 3 and it's fantastic.

That other game was widely tanked by way too many people in-fighting about whose $10 bucks should get to dictate the entire direction, but on the flipside mass amounts of ideas were able to be poached for projects like Gunvolt and Blaster Master.

The first game was one of the best Metroidvanias on NES (before the term even existed) with that SunSoft sound. And this one looks really nice. This is so cool

Originally known as Hebereke on the Famicom version. :) I played this gem way back in the early 90's and it's one of my fave NES titles. I'm amazed it got a sequel at all - but super happy! :)

I didn't expect this in the slightest, but I'm so happy to see my favorite NES game getting the attention and love it so desperately deserves.

FYI My first play through this game, (not counting cutscenes,) took *42m46s* and I'm not even a speedrunner. As gorgeous as its presentation is, it's an incredibly brief & over-simplified followup to the original.

Omg I can’t believe this will exist. I got Ufouria back on Wii U VC before it shut down for $5, and it was totally worth it!

I got tears in my eyes. FINALLY! I played this as a kid when i was about 8 or 9 years old, I think it was my first video game EVER. Now i'm getting 40 in a few days. What an amazing birthday present.

These are the characters from "Sugoi Hebereke." That game on the SFC was pretty fun

Hebereke is the original game on Famicom. Or the European version was Ufouria: the Saga on NES.

it is a metroidvania still, but with roguelite elements, as the level design changes every time you leave the hub area.
