If kattar would have beat Ilia ppl he might have not done enough for a title fight. So ufc just took the undefeated prospect to the title instead off risking him lose and have no one for volk, like they did whit Allen

Absolute champ-level breakdown of the main event, and a good overview of the card as a whole! I’m also super 50-50 on Strickland v Du Plessis, but we’ll have to see what Oxygenated DDP can do in those championship rounds. And good luck with the rest of your own camp, champ!

The way I see it, Strickland has a black belt in losing fights that he's supposed to win and winning fights that he's supposed to lose. On the other hand, Dricus has a third degree black belt in winning fights that he's losing. I wouldn't bet on this one.

Yeah he definitely is a brawler like Dustin but its the physicality and power. Remember he is a former rugby player which means freakish grappling and grip power as well but he wasn't as big as Volk lol.@@MistyAndBonnie

Dricus has the highest # of significant strikes per round in middleweight history. This fight will be a banger. 20 wins, 19 of which have been finishes, and the one he didn't finish against Tavares was a brutal war

That was a risky short notice fight to take. Which Charles created by backing out in the first place. However combat sports is risky no matter if your fully ready and had enough time to prepare properly. I hope volk is fully 100 percent recovered and healthy. And we get the performance and effort we always expect from him.

Ive got DDP winning it, he'll actually walk forward and sean isn't as good on the backfoot while trying to defend combinations, the outside trip is there for DDP with seans feet very close together as he stands straight up most of the time. If DDP can land some big shots and steal the 1st or 2nd I can definitely see him winning by UD by using his grappling in the later rounds to see it through. plus he's the underdog so defo worth a few pennies

Almost every breakdown I’ve seen is pretty 50/50. I feel like the factors that decide the fight are Strickland’s takedown defence and DDP’s stamina.

Good that volk knows both guys people still sleep on DDP dude was a K1 champion kickboxing, grew up with judo and some wrestling and had mad dangerous submissions also he just a freak in terms of strength so he takes advantage on the ground when he has to force a opening. He competed in a submission grappling event against a Gracie school in south africa, they had a few blackbelts. He beat all 4 guys one after the other 😅 without his team having to help at all. He is no pushover.

I agree 60% ddp, 40% sean. Only thing that worries me is sean has really good defense, he might be able to weather the storm of dricus and and get it to the later rounds and takeover, should be a good fight though.
