    That fight scene in Gorgeous between Jackie Chan and Brad Allan looks phenomenal. Brad was part of Jackie’s stunt crew and was also a supervising stunt coordinator in Shang Chi. RIP Brad Allan.

    @plaguelock so WHAT exactly in his advices was unrealistic asshat? his advice to keep opponents in front of you so you wouldn't get blindsided? oк doing different things so that opponent would not be able to predict what you are doing? or advice of building muscle strength or muscle memory so you wouldn't waste precious time in the fight thinking HOW exactly are you going to block instead of blocking?     I was taught that it was practiced by the Hwarang dynasty (Korea, 10th Century), to knock the invading Japanese Samurai off their horses, and keep the fight on a level playing field. I can't find much to support this though. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hwarang But if you think about how scary the timing has to be jump over a moving horse, and kick a guy with a sword in hand.... Fortunately, they didn't always have to start at ground level for the jump.

    Brad Allen in "Gorgeous" against Jackie Chan, did the triple kick in the air -- which is what Keanu Reeves did in that scene in "The Matrix" but Keanu Reeves was on a wire to do that. It looked like Brad Allen did that for real with no wire -- that was one of the most impressive moves I've ever seen in a film.

    58-0 in regional tournaments in Georgia. He never competed in Glory, K1 or any of the top Kickboxing orgs, never fought any of the top Kickboxers in his weightclass. One of the best WW MMA fighters, but overrated as a Kickboxers.

    Just in case people don't know Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson is a 5th degree blackbelt in Tetsuhin-Ryo Kempo, Black Belt in Jujutsu, Black Belt in American Kickboxing and currently either a Brown or Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jistu under Carlos Machado (Jiu-Jitsu World Champion). Prior to MMA he holds an undefeated Kickboxing record of 58 wins 0 losses and is a multi-time I.S.K.A, I.K.F, P.K.C, U.S.A.K.B.F Champion as well as a W.P.K.A and W.A.K.O champion. His MMA record is 15 wins 4 loses and fought Tyrone Woodley twice for the UFC Welterweight Title and is currently the #7 ranked Welterweight (170 pound division) contender in the world.

    i am ufc Fan and my favourite ufc fighters are Diaz brothers,GSP,JDS but to me Ufc fighters are Not Complete fighters in the world! i think shaolin kungfu is the Best fighting style in the world.i know they're not fighting in octagon and never will be but they can take out few fighter in same time becuse of Meditation.they have sharp Sense.i saw some person fighting dressed as shaolin Monk and that is gimmick not a real Monk.any way this is my opinion.

    You should meet him...or train with him for 3 years. It's an act. I truly think hes a good human but His Dad, Ray and him are MONEY HUNGRY. It was $140/month for mma workouts . Once he knocked out Stiggen it moved to over $300. I was already working as much as I could in highschool to pay for that...they didnt even take my monthly price because I had so much loyalty. It's sad really.

    A few things that I find especially psychologically important that have and do help me out in competitive situations that Stephen Thompson mentioned are: 1. Being confident in your ability and knowing that you are better than you sometimes feel and 2. Having fun and not letting a fight get to you The second I start to doubt myself, I begin to perform worst and if I forget why I am competing against others (for fun) then I can get 'stuck in my own head.'

    Stephen Thompson besides Lyoto Machida is a rare Ufc fighter. who can use traditional karate in mma. He’s been at the top 5 for the last five years in the welterweight division. Cool to see his insight.

    Honestly lyoto and wonderboy are in my opinion the best in karate...because as in most martial arts if you cant apply it practically then whats the point? Which is why alot of kung fu is left behind and honestly karate has been around for so long its almost associated with kung fu to most in the west in that they think its the whole "flow like water" thing

    @TheOriginal GGHarasser Actually surprisingly, it's starting to gain traction and you'll see some commentators, even in Boxing referring to it as Ultra Instinct...Because a lot of the fighters are also anime/manga or comics nerds and started calling it that so some commentators are also starting to use the term too.

    Its like "the zone" athletes describe when they are at high potential. When running, I sometimes got to a point at which I felt like I could go on forever at an ever increasing speed. If this is considered "the zone" or just high adrenaline or whatever - it just feels good and you see different results when all pain turns into fun.

    Sadly, he's incorrect. Sensei means teacher as the position. The verb "to teach" is "oshieru". Your mom teaches you lots of things, but she isn't your teacher, she's your mother.

    @@salemizscared A teacher is somebody with an occupation of teaching a particular subject as a job. A parent has a legal and moral obligation to teach you essential skills and values. One's a choice as a job, the other is not.

    Ehhh one of the best boxers is kind of a stretch. He has good technique and power but his head movement is similar to that of the Starue of liberty. He gets hit A LOT

    In my experience so far, very few people that get to a decent level, let alone the proficiency of Mr. Thompson here, are the stereotypical "I just want to punch some people". You need lots of patience, good mental health and a tactical mind for competetive martial arts. He is pretty exceptional though :-) Also a good entertainer. Its fun listening to him talking.

    @@silentlamb21 Most of the elite level fighters out there that are on the level of Mr.Thompson dont come off good while speakin for longer periods, there are ofc exceptions but most of the high level fighters out there come off as Tito Ortiz,Roy Jones jr,Floyd Mayweather and etc. Nothing wrong with not being natural speakers, only wanted to give props to a guy that has the best of both worlds, something that is really rare.

    I studied tae kwon do when I was younger, and before I did I used to try and do stunts on my big bro's bmx bike and fail. So many injuries but I guess it did condition me to take more than I'd otherwise been able to. Thanks for this breakdown I feel like I learned something, which is awesome.
