UD is anything but "wasted money". Some people talking about how every team needs a UD in their locker room. I'm going to take it a step further, and say every organization no matter what they do (medical, financial, entertainment, etc.) needs someone like UD in their squad/team. The man is so motivational! He walks like he talks, he keeps it real, and he doesn't back down from nobody. Only true Heat fans know the intangibles UD brings to the table each and every day.

While most teams 15th guy is just a practice pawn with no influence on the roster, Miami’s last guy on the bench just so happens to have the value to hold their best player accountable. I'm not just saying this but.... There will be a huge void to fill when this man retires. Anyone who has a family where a grandparent is the backbone of the family and passes away will understand. That grandparent is not bringing in money or raising kids on a full-time basis, but is an essential part of the functioning of that family. And often when that grandparent passes away, the family is in disarray and things can go one of two ways. Either they don't recover or someone else can step up to the plate. I'm interested to see what will be the case for the heat next season, but I'm enjoying UD on this team while he's still there!

to add to the bam question I feel when you're the top defender on your team I would imagine your legs are not there as much as when you take defensive possessions off

And if another team decides they're willing to take it to the streets, the players know UD is sitting on the bench and one UD is enough to instill confidence to a whole team in a twelve man fight.
