Paul Pierce was basically that generation's DeMar DeRozen but had Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.

I usually think Mike is pretty cool, and can be thoughtful with a lot of his “takes”. But this was just bad trolling. Not even because of his opinions, but more that he called Pierce out for doing EXACTLY what he just did. You were given a chance to talk your s**t to the man’s face, and instead you decided to “leave”. Then waited afterwards….yes Mike Ryan, that probably makes you look cowardly.

Then they dumped that history into the garbage in 1997, and started fresh. No history, true. Celtics had a 5 year window from 2008 to 2012, one title. Only LeBron did worse.

Matrix was a good pull, third best player on a championship team doesn’t get Paul Pierce’s amount of media love, but KG isn’t fit for print and Ray is boring unless he’s in the DMs. Pierce had 1 season in the Top 10 of MVP voting, 4 in the top 15 but Boston found 2 guys who constantly finished ahead of him in MVP votes and structured the team to make sure Pierce got the most shots. Paul Pierce is Klay without the boat, the dog, and his teammates prime years.
