Normally, I’ll watch the good games twice. But this one was painfully boring. I kind of feel bad for Paige, and the hometown fans that came to see her. For her to have a bad shooting day, and end with 12. It happens to everyone. Both teams shot horrible. 44 and 20% on FG and 3’s for UConn, and 26 and 17% for Minnesota. Both teams had a bad shooting day.

Agreed! We are lucky that Minnesota didn’t shoot the lights out! Everyone who starts are standing around waiting for Paige to do her magic!?? What is Muhl doing this year? I really hate seeing her drive then not finish inside the paint! Why isn’t anyone driving to the basket? KK, Samuels and Shade know what to do! The bench is saving the season so far! Caroline is not well, and it shows. She has a charge almost every game. The rest of the team NEED to help Paige! Don’t expect anything from Azzi until next year if they are lucky. Her confidence will be shot if she returns. This team can do it if they can switch on the freaking light bulb and attack the rim, and practice their shots? Who is the 3 pt assassin? We need points! Layups too! Aaliyah could add 10 points to her total if she could made all of her layups. That is how these other schools are killing other teams! UConn bigs in the past hardly missed! Hence, 11 championship’s! Go Huskies!

Holy cow.....talk about a clang-fest. The last time I saw that many bricks in one location, my Pop was building a fireplace in the backyard, in 65'. Obviously, this is not the UCONN team fans were expecting to see so far this year, but with what seems to be the now perennial injury bug biting UCONN yet again, this is shaping up to be another season that the potential of this team will not be realized. I know it's early, but with the likes of Azzi already out for who knows how long, along with 2 post players, including 1 that is lost for the season, Caroline's post concussion(s) related funk and Griffin's measured minutes (according to Geno) due to her unfortunate back woes, for UCONN to even have a chance to make some noise in the tournament, they will have to remain almost injury free for the remainder of the season and into the tournament. The problem is......with the injuries to an already weak front-court, it is going to be a real battle trying to cope with teams that actually have legitimate horses up front, both in the offensive/defensive rebounding department, their own scoring down low and limiting opposition big's scoring, along with dribble drives at the rim. Hopefully, Patterson can help some in the paint when she returns. One thing is certain, though. Thank goodness the freshman have had a good start, as they may be called upon to play a much bigger role than anticipated. Too bad one of them isn't a 6'5" stud.
@markhathaway94566 ай бұрын
1st game to really activate Aaliyah and it took a while. Good defense, rebounding took a while to become dominant, shooting was awful. Frosh: every time I see Q moving well with the ball I think of Michael Jordan at N.C., but then KK hits a 3pt floater and I'm like, omg, that's super MJ. Wow. All of them are coming along well, but KK is leading them. Too many missed layups is probably from lack of focus and that often comes from mental tiredness. I'd say they're learning a lot, and it's just taxing them. Food and sleep help a lot. Held Minn to a very low FG%, so successful game. I didn't see any major problems with the combinations of players on the floor. They all seemed to work pretty well together.

After watching the game again it is clear: the post coaches are ruining our players. Aaliyah EDWARDS is getting bad advice on how to play the post. She forces the issue every game and gets a charge. I don’t see moves like Aaliyah Boston, Angel Reese, Aja Wilson, Maya Moore, Swin Cash! She doesn’t do a quick 10-15 jumper using the back board! At her size, she shouldn’t even come down with the ball! Her moves are easy to pick off and against good teams, she struggles. How come she can’t hit a layup after her “signature” move? If she is the high scorer each game, we are in trouble. This team shots poorly compared with past teams and this shouldn’t be the case. However, there is hope with the freshman! Love ‘em!

@@jaylewis1993 That could be true and makes sense? Do you think it will change? The Paige factor could be a real problem. We had it in 2022 during the tournament.
