@@Pinkyinter123 Ball was already in the goal. Do what you can control. calling a foul is up to the ref. Poor defending 16 seconds from the National Title! That was all on the players, take responsibility, learn from it and move on. Win it next year!

the game is never over til its over !!! great game to both teams but UCLA never gave up .. they had the eyes on the prize and had the foot on the gas and tied the game and winning in OT wow

I love this Bruin team and although I live close enough in Santa Barbara I was unable to see them play all season, but made it to Cary tonight. I want to thank the UNC fans for being so gracious and sportsmanlike - until we tied it up. They became jerks then sore losers. Still loving it.

I don't know why people are saying the goalie got tackled or pushed with the tied goal. The keeper moved backwards into the goal and the ball went in-she wasn't pushed. Fair goals on each side.

it's been shown all over twitter, a UCLA girl had her forearm in the goalies chest and is pushing her from the moment the ball is kicked. She even tries to get her arm up and is restricted from that same defender. Maybe 22 hours ago it was unclear, but currently it's undisputed that she is pushed.

From 2-0 down with 10 mins left to the equalizer with 16 SECONDS LEFT to the overtime winning goal, this was without a doubt the greatest ncaa soccer game I have ever seen. Go Bruins!!

@@richardthelionheart5594 Granted the dying moments of that goal she's overrun more by her panicked team than UCLA- She's getting jostled on the line (3:38) and like I mentioned, her defenders should've done better at protecting her especially that late in the game. I believe that's a fair assessment so not too sure what you're getting at

could go either way to be honest and fair...OBSTRUCTION could be called or it could not, on this one i would side against #15 for "Obstruction" play, these players are very talented "they all know what they are doing" some are really good at acting (but not as good as the men they will flop if a cricket walks by, these ladies have been playing the game for along time, years.... without hesitation #15 knew exactly what she was doing (on the other side of that the keeper must be stronger there), if im the side ref in this game UCLA would have been called for the infraction [Obstruction, #15].....all in all, what a game, fan of the sport and not a team, all these ladies could work circles around me so i must Salute all in Victory or Defeat! BTW~ the ball was already in the back of the net when headed, goal from the corner nice ball #10

Great game, but not gonna lie I think the UNC keeper has a fair argument. On the replay you can see #15 for UCLA doesn't let her go to the ball and doesn't make a play for the ball herself. Probably should've been a foul but I'm not sure if they have VAR

As somebody completely neutral…I have no issue with UCLA’s 2nd goal. Goalkeeper backed up, planted her feet and jumped back into the goal all on her own. Not to mention she had absolutely no chance at making that save anyway.

@@schuhfamilyyoutube6156 looks different from the two different close up angles they showed. The first close up I thought it was a foul. The second close up you can clearly see the goalkeeper jumping backward and moving into the goal with minimal force if any from the ucla attacker.

Doesn’t matter whether she jumped in. She was being held by the UCLA attacker while the ball was in the air. No way that goal should be allowed. This type of foul is allowed a lot in women’s soccer at all levels for some reason. If the keeper grabbed an attacking player like that, no question the attacking team would be screaming for a PK.

Good no call on the UCLA equalizer. Everyone was going for the ball and UCLA #15 just outmuscled the UNC keeper. It's all about positioning and unfortunately the UNC keeper was in a bad spot. I'm 99% sure that ball was going in the net directly from the corner. What an amazing delivery.

#15 elbowed and pushed the GK over. You're not allowed to do that. The ref is no where in sight and was out of position to make the call. If this game had VAR for every play, that goal would have been taken off, 15 maybe a yellow card, and UNC wins in regulation. My opinion anyway!

It also looked like it was in the goal before anyone touched it. So even if she did push the goalie wouldnt the goal already count? Can u kick it in from a corner kick straight to the goal or does it have to touch someone else?

@@schpood So flip the script and picture the goalie grabbing an attacker like that. It wasn’t shoulder-to-shoulder, the attacker had her arms around the keeper. If the roles were reversed it would have been an easy PK call. Likewise, you can’t allow an attacker to freeze the keeper like that. No way that goal should have stood.

As a fútbol player myself, I’ll be completely honest & I could kinda side wit either or. Why it could’ve been called a foul is because said attacking player is purposely interfering with the keeper which is a bit more protected in games like a quarterback would be, she’s not even tryin to play the ball at all has her hand coverin keepers arm so keeper would struggle more towards the save. Now I can also argue that it wasn’t a foul cause in a way I guess you can say it’s a natural movement to backup when you see the ball goin high like that so you don’t pay attention as much around you so you try not to do as much if you know what I mean? (Sorry I’m tryin hard to explain it as best as I can & as best as it can make sense) I would like to see hear what you guys think!

I have watched hundreds of soccer goals, and the keeper never willingly ends up in her own goal. UCLA bodied her in on the "equalizer." That's a red card foul and a penalty kick at the other end. What a travesty!

UNC 2022 women soccer Champions! Great year defeating the defending Champions and then one of the most Fouling teams in soccer. Foul on goalkeeper on last play. Goalkeeper was out of net leaning toward field when play started. She didn’t stop the shot Because as she is reaching up to block it she is being Pushed back with so much force her anyone else is going down. You can Not interfere with the goalkeeper. This is soccer not SockHer.

It was pure body to body and then the goalie decided to jump as she was being pressured back. Her defenders let her down. Player shouldn't have been able to put that much direct pressure on the goalie.

@@NatMir2784 obviously you don't know the rules of the game. You can in no way impede the goalie from making a play on the ball, body or arms or anything. If what you see was legal you would have someone down field in an offsides position at all times body the goal keeper out of the net. As long as the ball is not being played by the offsides player it is not offsides. So yes it was an obvious penalty. UNC was screwed out of a win.

Can’t impede the goalie automatic whistle and it’s a foul ….refs sold

I've got no skin in the game but that was clearly an obvious foul by the UCLA forward not just impeding the goalkeeper but bodying her into the goal before the cross even got there.

Now that is a foul , you cannot touch that goalie at all. Wrong call
