Congratulations to the FSU women's soccer team in winning their National Championship and BYU gave FSU their best shot. A hard fought game played among two great teams. With three NC titles FSU should now be considered a very elite soccer program.

First of all FSU was so technical through out the match and very precise in neutralizing BYU's high pressure. Great strategy and a great game. I truly hope this isn't taken out of context, but as a Utahan and a father of a daughter that plays in the NJCAA I'm extremely prideful of the fact that BYU's team was mostly made up of local Utah players. To see them go toe to toe with a team full of national team players from around the world was awesome. The amount of good female soccer players in the state of Utah is awesome and it showed last night. Again not taking anything away from FSU. Congrats to both teams.

I didn't watch the game, but FSU got good at playing the bunker playing UNC (my alma mater) every year. Plus they got/have a really good coach and in a GREAT location for attracting players. Congrats!

Congratulations from an FSU graduate. I worked a the FL DOH for nine years and earned an MPH while working. I attended many FSU soccer games at the field just west of Tully Gym. BYU is a tough team with a high VO2 max from living at higher altitude. It was a great match for FSU against an elite team.

I love watching women's soccer ! They play hard ! I'm really happy with the effort BYU put in this year to get to the finals...Go BYU Women Soccer!

1. Second yellow to FSU was very obvious (NOT GIVEN) 2. Second PK keeper from FSU looked off the line, but close. 3. Last PK Winner, player stopped, not allowed to Stop in college, stutter is fine, but not a STOP.

Stopped / stepped backwards during her run up. I thought you had to maintain at least some form of forward motion in the run up but the ref missed that call

Proud of what BYU is doing in all sports. Women's soccer go the championship, football team has best team in the last decade, Men's and Women's basketball are killing it, and men's volleyball went to the championship last year. It's a good time to be a cougar. Props to Florida State for playing a great game.

Does BYU have players that are on national teams like FSU. FSU has numerous players that are on national teams.

I know there's a ton of pressure but my god, those were some horrendous penalties. The misses might as well have been lobbed to the GK. The makes were savable except for maybe two of them. Shambles.

@@DontH8Ivan yeah I mean you have to to get to the corner. Just watch penalty number one to see what happens if you don’t guess early. Unfortunately none of these players are sophisticated enough to fake the keeper out like certain pros do easily (Jorginho)

@@josephshih6644 regardless how does the coaching staff think #12 from byu should be taking kicks. 2 of the worst penalties over ever seen from her back to back shootouts. Gotta question the coaching staff as to why that person gets a second kick.

BYU no 12 missed penalty kick in semifinal & final!

More seasoned officiating is needed during championships. Coaches need to be willing to step outside of the regular game plan when two teams are so evenly matched. I don't think good all around coaching is taking place when players cannot score in regulation time. It could be argued, no that means they are being coached well. But the game is to put the ball in the net in regulation time not doing that is failure which I assign to coaching.

FSU #6 should've gotten a red card. no debate.

I hate it when such a big game -- whether World Cup or college or MLS or whatever -- is decided by PKs. We need higher scoring in soccer during the game. I recommend hockey-style subs -- as much as you want, without stopping the clock, keep all players fresh.

Sure we hate ties or no scoring, but have to appreciate the players preventing their opponents from scoring a goal and comes down to this. Course in regular season it’s tie or overtime score by the team that wins besides regular time scoring.

The officials clearly favored FSU throughout the game on several capital moments. FSU shouldn’t have won the championship had the ref done their job decently. Such a shame to see it deliberately happening in a NCAA championship final without an intervention from the auxiliaries outside.

One of their players should be out of the game since mid first half after nearly breaking Colohan’s legs. Any competent unbiased ref would’ve given a red card right at the spot and the story would’ve been way different. Congrats Cougs!

the narrators saying goalkeepers reading shots is pure BS; FSU's keeper is guessing as most keepers do, and BYU's keeper is staying put hoping to react to the shots; there's no reading much at all, but the narrators' way to pretend they know and mislead the audience into believing that keepers can read penalty kicks - they can study the shooter to learn their tendencies and play some gamesmanship a la Hope Solo taking her gloves off in a shootout but that's about it -- that aside, FSU is consolidating its name as one of the most successful women's program in the last decade!!!

BYU GOT ROBBED! Florida keeper jumped forward twice b4 ball was kicked! And that stutter step! Smh! She might as well just stood there and stuttered 10 more times! 🤣

BYU was robbed throughout this game. Offside goal was an onside goal. Clearly onside. Ref made a horrendous call that cost BYU the game. #6 should have had a straight red with a tackle with both of her cleats up and taking out BYU's star player for the rest of the half. Then she should have had a second yellow near end of game, but the head ref was too chicken to give her a second yellow. FSU's keeper comes off the line on at least one stop and the final kick she completely stops her momentum, which is again, not allowed. These refs should be fired and BYU should be given the trophy.

This happens almost every year. Teams can't score in regulation or in OT.

The title should clarify this is Women’s soccer.

I have a very hard time with an official that deliberately saves a player that co.mmits a 2nd yellow card offense and doesn't pull the trigger !! If the foul was soft , that's one thing , but that was a savage play and she knew exactly what she was doing . She later scored on a penalty that she shouldn't have been on the field to take . The referee has to be sanctioned for his obvious failure . It was not a mistake , he just refused to put her off for a flagrant foul !! I hope that he never officiates an other college match ever . His performance wasn't fit for a grade school game !! I'm disgusted and so angree about that failure and the possibility of a different outcome !! For those that think it's sour grapes , I didnt have a horse in the race , but I have seen so much of this that it makes me sick !

Truly a boring game but the penalties made it exciting at the end
