The UB40 sound went when Ali left the band, sorry to say but Duncan will never replace that sound......

First of all, let me say I really hate that it has come to this! Ali was and still is the voice of UB40, but to say that he is bitter, hell I would be bitter as well considering how things went down with them. I don't understand how they can sit there an act like they don't miss Ali! When they were together, there music was like magic. I don't know what this is they have now!!!

Yes, you're right on all counts - very sad. It's all a facade (and not a very good one) as you can see the obvious hurt in Robin's face when asked if he thought they'd ever sing together again; I felt his pain when he said, "No", while shaking his head - he blinked slowly, then pursed his lips to the right. Body language gives him away - he's heartbroken. Ali must feel the same, after all, they're brothers. Sad, indeed.

Asta ism I agree!! Robin knows that a terrible mistake was made here!! Duncan betrayed Ali along with the others, I believe they could have possibly fixed this if it hadn't got so messy!!

Well, never say never, eh? Would be great to see them solve issues and begin to mend their broken hearts. The band was their life's dream come true; to see it end this way, and to destroy a family bond in the process is beyond tragic; an egregious error. I send love and healing vibes to the Brothers Campbell, to the band members, and to all the fans who've experienced emotional shock by the traumatic event - including those of the past 7 years. Life is precious/fleeting; look at the big picture, Brothers! Hoping for better days ahead. Love & Light!

I've met Duncan in the goose in Selly Oak and he's quite a good man always got a smile on his face and ease down to earth

Without ali you wouldnt be where you are today he is and always will be the voice of UB40 no matter how many brothers you try and bring to replace him, never gomna happen. You are the fake UB40 and always will be. Big love to ali

Ali is so bitter & resentful that he couldn't even attend the funeral of his old pal Brian Travers. Ego & greed ripped them apart & both bands are greatly diminished! Ali now finds himself solo.

how can Robin say ali more is the karaoke band, what stupid comments! Errr and to say Ali is the only part of ub40?? So Mickey and Astro were never in the band? no?? must have imagined that then!! LOL If i had their ub40 and the real ub40 put in front of me i know who i would want to listen to!! Duncan cant even sing live and Robins always been a crap singer anyway! I think it's a shame they split up but me personally I would go and see both brands because as far as I'm concerned there UB40 to me it makes no difference one is not better than the other their both brilliant Ali and Duncan

Rob Flake Ali started UB40 over 30 years ago! He wants to salvage its good name before its run into the ground. Completely understandable, and I wish him the best. Light and Love, Ali!

Jimmy Brown (the drummer with the plastic kit) is crying like a little girl on his forum saying "Ali has always been a liar". I wonder why Jimmy kept his seat warm for 30 years then. Hypocrite don't you think? He's also saying Duncan is the honest brother. So that's why Duncan didn't hesitate to replace Ali, his own brother? I would feel betrayed too. Jimmy calls everyone who agrees with him "smart" or "not stupid". These discussion tactics say more about him than the "stupids". It's just a good sign Jimmy is still complaining. Shows they're really feeling it right now. Just hold on Ali, Astro & Mickey, it's a matter of time :-)

You're talking crap - Duncan Campbell is a pub singer at best (and that's being kind). He has destroyed UB40's sound. Robin Campbell should sing lead more now (his great lead vocal on Mr Fixit demonstrates that)- get rid of the deadwood (Duncan). Ali, Astro & Mickey are now the real UB40. Sad but true.

At the end of the day, Ali's backing band isn't the UB40 we all grew up on, and Duncan definitely isn't the voice we grew up on!! The key is,as a band you can develop a sound as long as you have the voice with the band! UB40 doesn't have that voice with Duncan, but still has the musicianship from the other original guys we all grew up on! Duncan needs to stick to Labour of LOVE 4 tunes and Getting Over the Storm tunes!! As a band Robin u have carried on with those tunes but all the songs Ali made famous Duncan sounds terrible singing those songs and Robin knows it!!

How can people put down UB40? UB40's music has been so influential in music that other artists have duplicated UB40's music for their own remixes as well as artists want UB40 to remake their hits? (Neil Diamond always appraised UB40 at his concert and tries to duplicate Red Red Wine like UB40!) A group so influential in DUB and Remake, doesn't need opinions from the penny jar! :)

I do like silhouette though, good song...

UB40 without Ali is like a ship on the high seas without a captain. I have followed group since 1980 and have every album out upto 2003.

Es una pena que ali , demérito el talento de sus hermanos robin y duncan diciendo que son un karaoke , la voz de duncan no le pide nada a la voz de ali, pues por si ali por su egoísmo , no se ha dado cuenta que son casi idénticas, ojalá un día Ali, termine con todo ese coraje que por la comparación que hizo de sus hermanos con un karaoke se ve que tiene hacia ellos, termine un día y se reconcilie con ellos, pues la familia está antes que nada, los demás se van un día pero los hermanos ni muertos dejan de ser hermanos, me encantan ub cuarenta formado por robin y duncan igual que ali.

i really dont know how duncan could have stabbed his brother in the bank like that it's a real shame. and when they ask robin if there is a chance he would sing with ali again duncan jumps in and answers first, i dont think it's likely.......grrr, maybe not thanks to you. robin at least looked a little sad, duncan just looked smug.

You can deal with it, like the small group of fans on their forum but most people just want Ali & Astro when going to a UB40 gig. Nobody knows Duncan and he isn't a professional singer, he doesn't sound like one. You can think of Ali what you want, it doesn't change the fact most people will always recognize Ali's voice as the true UB40 sound. The improved UB40 with Ali & Astro has a bright future ahead. New album, a live album and unplugged stuff coming up. Can only be done with professional singers.

I honestly can't watch Duncan try to sing any of UB40's back catalogue of songs! I cringed when I watched him last doing a track? It would be honest to say that he is murdering the songs. If it was labour of love Vl or G,O,T,Storm aye fine? But I have to be real in what I am hearing and murder fits.

I think music can be played or copied farely close but the voice of Ali no one can... plus Duncan is a terrible singer thats not even close to Ali.
