Not the fault of UB40 i'm afraid, like Robin stated in this interview (he was the other vocalist in the band) & his voice is similar to Ali's anyway. All this talk of Ali is just the loyalty shown towards him with no respect at all shown towards the band.

If you listen to early UB40 from the early days, Duncan does sound like Ali. It's so sad how it went north with them all, a wonderful Reggae band and great people.

You 2 are brilliant together good luck x

I accepted Duncan also, from the beginning. I know he's not Ali, but Ali left and so these guys just moving on and that's great! To me these guys, are still the Original ub40....

Love ❤ ub40 but I liked it with all of the original people. Some issues going on with the brothers falling out with each other which is a real shame but that's families for ya .I did see Ali recently and he was great 👍 love ❤ all their music 🎶 🎵 ❤

Without Ali this is now so bad Duncan Campbell is shockingly terrible he just can not sing and how he thought that he could replace Ali is a joke it is embarrassing and making out that they are now better is just pure bull crap they would love Ali back instead of that dead beat voice Duncan has got and Duncan does not sound nothing like Ali and he never will that statement about people thought he was miming is just pure lies because i have never ever seen or heard anyone say that Duncan sounds like Ali carry on dreaming

This reminds me of the fools who keep harassing The Stranglers for moving on after Hugh Cornwell left in 1990. The verbal/written abuse got so bad a couple of years ago that they had to inform the Hugh fans that he had a Facebook page of his own and maybe they'd be comfortable there. Focus on supporting Ali's endeavors and listen to old UB40 albums. Have fun 😆

Lovely interview and as Robin said "The vast majority have accepted Duncan".... The fans that can't see past the Ali era are closed minded to the UB40 evolution (for the better and happier) and their every protest post and slanderous comment only shows themselves as intolerant to change. I say go live in the past and support your old hero as his voice decreases in quality. Shame on the three who left the band but continue to capitalize on the UB40 name. They have no right to it, having quit the band that continue on successfully... Listen to "Moonlight Lover" the new single (Oct 2018) from the old band... It is fantastic!!!

I don't think that will ever happen. Duncans a cool dude, he's doing the best he can. Better this than no band.

Duncan is a nice bloke but he is a crap singer. I like Duncan, but he should try and persuade Robin to hire a professional singer. Duncan would be great as an events co-ordinator for UB40 - as he is one of the original brothers from the Campbell family. He definitely should have a key role in the band - but not as a singer.

@@MusicNation-TV Agreed mate. But i still think that Duncan should have been placed in a management role. Robin was desperate to keep things in the family, so he asked Duncan to be the lead singer. That was a tactical error on Robins part. Sorry to disappoint you mate. But the masses of hardcore UB40 fans agree with me on this. Like I said, Duncan is a nice bloke - but desperate decision made by Robin in the spur of a moment can certainly backfire - and they did here - big time!
