Half of the fun of building and collecting models is displaying them. I found inspiration from an Instagram user that goes by @monsterpartywars and used one of his outstanding projects as the idea for this video. If you don’t follow him already, you should definitely go do that!

As soon as I saw those miniscule figures, I said "I wonder if he's gonna paint THOSE?" Of course you did! And accurately! Holy good gravy...
I honestly don't know why people dislike these vids. Like it's really cool why hurt the ratio
Goodness gracious

UHHHHH this U-WING! I have to confirm, the aging was very good. A really cool way to display the model. Now the next level would be the Millenium Falcon docted in Cloud City (Bespin)? :) Falcon + LEDs + Cotton Clouds + Lando & Han (and maybe Vader somewhere in the Background) uhhhh *smile*

Chill Time with Boylei. Fab!
I recommend a Jedha build with the Imperial tanks. Great build by the way!

Pretty sure he's given most of his dioramas away
It would be really cool to make a wall display out of that, and have a bunch of them just mounted on the wall so you can just put a ton of ships up.
really nice platform, i could see it bieng mounted on a wall near bookshelves and switching out the fighters every now and then. inspiring work!
Awesome work as always.
Ooh. I love the U-wing!
Amazing work.
With the tie striker, I think it would look cool if it were flying over a lake/the ocean with it making a wake on the water underneath it

Very nice build. The Landing Platform turns out beautiful. Only the wiring to the antennas, i would expect going under the platform into the hidden base. But the connector looks awesome..
Very cool! I love the u-wing!
Great video as always. Love to see another book nook.

Fine work, really like how you repurposed much of the sprue frames when constructing this, something I also do in my own videos

Thank you! It’s amazing how many things those sprues can be repurposed into.
Beautiful work man- cheers!
You should make the y-wing be dropping a bomb!
Nice work!
A rogue tienstriker attacking a tank convoy would look awesome
superbe travail. mes préférés sont avec des leds ....
Once again you’ve turned something simple into something awesome. Please keep it up
Awesome build 😄👍🏾

Ever created or considered creating a diorama in epoxy? The results are pretty spectacular for bigger explosions etc.
@Boylei

I’ve definitely thought about it! I’ll start experimenting with epoxy and see if I get inspired.
Hearing you had an inspiration on this was like when the principal walked into your elementary classroom and you realized for the first time that your amazing teacher wasn’t the boss of all things, and even though logically it makes sense, your world is shaken a bit. Back to reality though, your videos as always entertain, inform, and inspire. Your reveal shots were awesome! It was like the reveal shots from that MTV show Pimp My Ride. I loved the look of that concrete looking background, as well as the color grading. Everything! Always! Amazing! Thank you!
@Boylei

Thank you very much for your super kind comments. Your encouragements help fuel my desire to keep building! Maybe I should have Xzibit do the reveals for my projects. Take things to the next level!
For the panel wash, I see a lot of people clean it up with enamel thinner after letting the thinner sit and was wondering if it was possible to clean panel wash with acrylic thinner or water instead
As a star wars fan, this is just so satisfying. Great video .
This is the moment i am feeling dumb for writing a comment under almost all of your videos how good your work is. But from all channels doing dioramas and miniatures yours is the only one i watch every video from, and i want you to know, that it is really great and enjoyable what you are doing.

An imperial hanger using the striker and some other tie models would be amazing! Great work as always!
You should use the hovertanks in a Jedda diorama, like when Cassian and Jyn are looking for Saw in the city

Always love your work. You always inspire my own model making! Thank you so much for sharing.
I wish Bandai would have made a separate 1/72 scall U-WIng to be able to accompany displaying them alongside the other 1/72 models like an X-win or Y-wing
What a great build Caleb... I like seeing you work with pink foam, the rockwork looked great. The platform itself was my favorite part of the build, it turned out awesome. Another A+ from you!

@@Boylei awesome! Your book nook video is one of my favorites. And as usual your styrene game is on point... I built something out of styrene yesterday for my new diorama and everytime I use that stuff I'm thankful that I learned how to work with it from you
Just a suggestion but I think a cool thing to do the the tanks would be a city streets scene on Jheda from rogue one.
Another solid build. I think limiting yourself to the acrylic case size is a good thing. It gives you some solid guidelines to make more compact creative choices. I think you ended up with a nice compact design because of that constraint. Also, my vote is to put those two tanks on patrol in a Jedha city alley. Probably as a narrow book nook
@Boylei

Thanks, man! Glad you like the way it turned out. I agree that the constraints helped keep it compact and clean. A little alley book nook is a great idea!
Amazing work as always !
Amazing work . I recently got back into models& gunpla after losing my right hand and leg to help deal with ptsd. Since I'm trying to still get a hand prosthesis I've been building a lot of the gundams. I just finished a 1/6th stormtrooper

Thanks so much! I’m sorry to hear about your hand and leg. Glad modeling brings you enjoyment! I hope you continue to get lots out of the hobby! Cheers.
Use the Imp. tanks for like a desert patrol diorama
You should do a jedha city diorama with one of the tanks and some styrene figures.
Love your models they are great, nt sure i like the back ground music, it tends to distract me, but might just be my opinion, i just like your commentary, thankyou for sharing 😋
Very nice work again👍👍 you are the reason I have started thinking to make something star wars related 🙂
you should make a small diorama with star wars rebels and the tanks really small but cool

👍
Awesome work! Personally, I think you did an outstanding job on the U-Wing!! Nailed it perfectly. The U-Wing is my favorite rebel ship and I think you did an amazing job on it. Another super creative project well done :) For the two imperial transport tanks, maybe you can remake that one scene from Jedha in Rogue One? Or perhaps use it in a diorama of some other planet being occupied by the Empire? Maybe a forest planet like Kashyyyk?
@Boylei
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Roman. I think the U-Wing may be my favorite revel ship as well. I’m glad it turned out as well as it did! I like the idea of switching up the planet for the tanks. A lot of good suggestions so far!
i guess you were upset that the ship kinda overpowered the landscape, i still think it looks good! i would love to see a diorama larger then you have ever made before!
maybe a bit late, but i'd love to see a Scarif beach flight battle with an X wing and the striker
Im really glad I found your channel, You make a lot of really cool stuff, and its a great inspiration.

Great work as always. I've been burning through all your past videos after stumbling on one of your Star Wars dog-fights. Love it! Your variety of subject matter is very inspiring. On a side not, you made all the landing pad panels separately and then glued then to an underlying support, is there a reason for doing it this way rather than just scribing the panel lines? More definition?
You should make a tie fighter or X wing shoot at the tank
@Boylei

Good thought! Maybe I will.
As always another great build. The detailing you put into this scene is great. I do miss the l.e.d. lighting. I understand when you said you wish you didn't let the size of the case limit the background. Great work. Keep the displays coming. Use the imp tanks and the AT-AT for a scene from Scarif 🤞
@Boylei

Thanks a bunch! I thought about adding lights, but was on a bit of a time crunch for this one. I might add them later! I like the Scarif idea! That’d be pretty cool.

Love that content ❤❤❤
An idea for the tanks. A city street that has been blockaded by the empire after a shuttle crashed there. (If you have a shuttle laying around, or use the tie striker)
Use the tanks for the scene in rouge one, on jedha.

I used some cheap acrylic hobby paints for the rocks. I think the brown was called espresso, the second color was called Au Lait, the third heather gray and the last highlight was a flat white. I also did one wash of thinned soapy black before the final highlight.

Do you need the driver for the LED filament or is there another way to do this with some double A batteries and an on/off switch or just keep it on and delivering power to it from the USB port on my pc?. Second, the red cellophane you used, can it be melted by the heat produced from the LED if so how long or short should you keep the light on for and is there a different clear plastic wrap you can use that will not melt. And the copper wire can it just be picked up from anywhere? or is there something special about it. Also, can you do a detailed tutorial video on how to hook up the led filaments and the wires and all that you do for some of your dioramas?
@Boylei
3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for your question. I have another video (the Death Star one) that I go into a little more detail on the wiring. I tried with a USB and battery and neither were able to light it for some reason. Not sure available that. Second, the LEDs don’t get hot enough to melt the cellophane with the low voltage filaments. The copper wire is 22 gauge enamel coated wire. I ordered it on Amazon. I will likely do more tutorials in the future.

It’s too bad you don’t realize using flat acrylic water-based paint would make your models look 100 times more realistic.. any shine on a model this small makes it look more fake
