DEATH STAR II + LED LASER TUTORIAL

#StarWars #DeathStar #Tutorial
There are many iconic images from the Star Wars universe, but one of the most iconic is obviously the big space ball known as the Death Star. Many of you have asked how to wire the LED filaments, so I made this project specifically to include a tutorial for how to do that. This is only for 12V LED filament bulbs. Please do not attempt with anything other than 12V bulbs.
And yes, I have seen Star Wars before. I understand that there are converging lasers at the base of the main laser when the Death Star fires its super weapon. I will try to figure out ways to accomplish that next time.

Also to anyone that decides to build this to keep in mind..... on the LED filament... there is a small hole on one side that’s how you tell the difference between negative and positive leads
Witness the power of this fully assembled and operational hobby project.

you win this one
I've only just started working with leds/lighting of any kind and it still scares me half to death. Watching you dismantle a bulb and rewire it gives me the (envy) spooks.
I never even thought about dismantling led bulbs this has really inspired me thinking about those cheap led flash lights from the supermarket for battery operated displays thanks mate
the use of these leds is so creative and I haven't seen anyone done it before. Very creative!!
Love it. It's so amazing to see how much thought and electrical engineering goes into adding one custom made laser to the model.
I'm an old fan of Star Wars. Thank you for your wonderful work. 감사합니다😀👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇰🇷
Super dope build! Love the look of the second Death Star, always thought it looked really cool. Thanks for the wiring tutorial too! Super interesting to watch
This looks sick! Great Job.
Outstanding! You are truly king of the nano builds!
I used to do stuff like this YEARS ago, but have since given up and now just build stuff in C G. Takes up less shelf space. I love your builds! Totally envious!
Thanks! You've brought back my love to star wars.
Thanks again for the LED tutorial! The Death Star looks incredible! Well done!
It's true not all heroes wear capes some have exacto knives. Extraordinary, just extraordinary!
Imagine going into this dudes house, His whole house is definitely a art museum!
I love these projects with the led filament... very cool.
Another amazing build! Thanks for the tutorial with the LEDs!
great tutorial on harvesting the led filaments from a led lightbulb. thank you
Dang! This has got to be one of your coolest builds yet!
it's so simple yet very well done! love it
Beautifully made!
Another fantastic build! Looks awesome! For the converging lasers try electroluminescent wires. EL wire. Might need a little bigger model but might get the look you want.
Can't wait to see you follow up on this! Looks amazing!
As always great job . That is awesome.
So good. Thank you for the LED breakdown. Love your work!
would it matter me just wiring the filaments straight up to a usb cable without the driver? feel like its only needed for the switch no?
@IconicProps

The driver probably changes the output. You can test the output of the usb with a voltage meter and compare it to the driver output. If the driver has the same out put, yes, you are correct, you can wire it straight to the usb.
Speechless.... I have no words to describe how epic this is
Man it looks awesome, great job!!
Awesome work and idea - nice!!!
This is so cool. I'm blown away
Amazing simple & clear !
Astonishing attention to detail

Great job, I was really impressed with your X-Wing diorama....
Thanks so sick 👍👍👍may the force be with you always 🙏
Fantastic work at the project Death Star and the electronic part of the diorama are amazing . I like very much the concept and how do you worked at this project . Thank you for sharing my friend !👏👏👏🏆🥇🙂👍
well i don't´know that you had to choose between have a kickass Death star model or keep you fingers, yOu are a great artist and a daredevil.
Cool looking model.
WELL DONE, KEEP IT UP!
I've been following your video's and this is the best by far
Ты великолепен! Спасибо за подробные туториалы!
Just awesome!
Sick project. I’m still lost on the wiring though. 😞
I love starwars everything and thanks for ur make this vids
Looks Great!👍👍👍
I have subbed, due to sheer genius.
I can only say the same as for the other ones, looks freakin awesome. Very well done, sir, keep it up!
Very impressive!
that was awesome! i think i will try this one .it is just wow man wow.
You make magic bro !!!
Hello, great work. Did you run the filament led that you removed from the 12v lamp, then with 5V using a USB cable?
Bravo ! Now, what about a try on Alien's subjects ? A main corridor in the Nostromo with lights like in the movie ? Narcissus shuttle with engines expulsing the monster in bright lights ?

The lighting tutorial was great
Magnifique bravo👍🏻👍🏻
It looks great
Awsome job
this is so awesome!!! I want to try one...gotta do some research!!
Your built inspired me to do the same with my Christmas gift 😁 I also light up the side rays with fiber optics. I still like your version better but my results turned out nice too :)
Good for you man! Thats awsome!
Very cool project. Amazing job. Have you possibly given thought to running the secondary wire alongside the led? Since the amperage is so low with one led, you could possibly use a piece of extremely light gauge copper wire that is insulated with the enamel coating. Some of those wires are as fine as a hair. Perhaps a future project.
That was very interesting. I feel I may die trying this. Gonna have to watch this video several thousand times more to feel comfortable.

"Do or do not, there is no try!"
I've been going through all of your custom star wars model videos and absolutely love them! You've inspired me and now I want to create my own but I'm a little put off by the soldering, wiring, capacitor aspect of things. Do you think you could make a micro electrical engineering for dummies video? Love all of your stuff dude, keep up the great content.
@Boylei

Thanks, Brandon! I will probably do more tutorial type videos in the future! Stay tuned.
Your work has been awesome. Considering the skills you've exhibited I find it funny that people think you'd use uninsulated wires.
Another amazing video!
Really nice, cool!!!!!
That is Awesome! But so is the other stuff you have built. Keep it coming!
LOVE IT!!!!
Another great build, thanks for sharing! Do you do consignments and if so how much do they usually cost?
Excellent video and tutorial. I just took one of these bulbs apart and in my haste, I managed to damage two of the filaments. That is to say, the outer part of the filament was quite delicate and while I was cutting it off the tree of wires that it’s mounted on, this outer shell split. I don’t suppose this outer part is repairable with clear tape? Still, I managed to get four filaments out and the driver works really well. Can’t wait to use it.
You should get 1m subs ! Good quality content!
Looks amazing :)
Dude so epic I am.going to try it! And you did a more detailed vid on the wiring!
Very cool. You got the like as soon as the video started. Before I even saw how it was done. It looks merchandisable. They should give you a royalty and produce these.
Amazing. Just amazing.

@@Boylei Tight dude, keep it up, I love seeing your stuff in my feed
Holy crap, I used to do model cars after school in a club lmao for like a month, I want to start again and do this it is awesome
This looks sick. I only wish they made it so that you could run both wires out the bottom of one of the filament rods, that way it would look better when it’s not in the dark. Awesome build man, can’t wait to see what you do with the star destroyer
@Boylei

Yeah, I will definitely try to do another Death Star in the future. I’ve learned a lot from this one.
Billiant as usual. I can't for the life of me figure out how, or why anyone would down vote a video like this?

This is amazing are there any step by step tutorials on how to do this ?
