Let's Make a Ship From Trash
Ойын-сауық
I found a little model kit pilot and an eye drop bottle that was trash and thought it would be cool to make a scratch build/kitbashed trash ship. I kitbashed some model parts, gundam bits and other trash bits I've collected to put this together. This kitbash trash build came together pretty easy and with a little custom paint and some weathering I think it came out great.
I hope you enjoy this toy customization kitbash video!
Thanks for visiting DR Toys, and as always...

Great kitbash. Simple but something I could see flying around in an old Heavy Metal comic.

Be even cooler to sneak in a tiny LED to glow inside the green shell. That would be cool. Maybe if you find a more colors you can make a whole fleet

Some sort of shampoo bottle or hand sanitizer bottle could make some sort of larger command ship, they often have see through coloured bottles
I love how convincing a paint job can be! To think that this was once an eyedropper, that's just silly. I love the creativity and it's super inspiring.

In older editions of 40k, GW actually gave instructions on how to build a land-speeder from a deodorant bottle. I myself am old enough to remember when they recommended making home-made terrain out of cardboard as a way to save money. Oh they were different times :D

Did stuff like this back in the early/mid 90s to play tabletop games.
I kept seeing this and seeing it. Finally gave it a click and I have to say, the finished project was fantastic! I often feel like doing this when I see random knick-knacks lying around.

First time checking out your videos, and this one was an impressive trash-to-treasure build. Gotta say I miss the olive-drab wings and the stenciling on them, all-silver lost a bit of the character, but that's about the only thing I'd do differently. Inspiring mini-build!

I thought the same thing after I painted it... I definitely could have gone more green with the body and keep the wing... maybe on the next one.😀 Thanks.

Wow this is so cool and cute! Never expected the Japanese megusuri bottle becomes a space ship. I want to add some led inside so it can glow💡
By all means, and I also definitely can, and do see outside and beyond the box. Always looking for odds and ends, as well as the little things to use in the biggest way. Secondhand and thrift stores are great for finding all of the little trinkets and treasures. We as the imagineer's, are so full of potential. The possibilities are only limited for the ones who do not dream. DREAM ON.

This is so cool, as a former professional architectural model maker. I became jaded and haven't built a model for over a decade. I was thinking of getting back into modeling but plastic kits just don't do it for me anymore. it takes me back to by bits box, funny how great minds think alike I used to make robots from scraps of model planes and tanks.

@@DRToysCreations Aww thanks for the reply! Yes it was pretty stressful, having to work to tight deadlines, often meant working through the night. I learnt never make your hobby into your job, it will kill it! Your videos are so inspiring, I'm looking at the world though different eyes, I'm picking up all sorts of stuff, old pens, hand sanitizer bottles and rubbish, to make something kinda cool. thanks so much for inspiring me to do something creative!
That looks so cool
It has a real 50's futurism vibe. A thing I find missing from a lock of scrapbuilt model ships is panelling and having the aerodynamic exterior compromised with extensive greebly usage. Realistic space ships wouldn't have core components and circuitry exposed or really anything that wasn't integral to function, modern ships in our world are mostly smooth and seamless looking, but up close are riddled in panelling and formed smaller patchwork-like parts. In the case of the ship made here, it looks as though the ship is a single metal form with glass cockpit. Carving in some groove lines to suggest depth between panels, or layering over thin sheets of film or paper to paint over can do wonders for breaking up the smooth body of scrap-built ships.
