U.S. Military Bayonets Part 5
Ғылым және технология
I conclude The Gun Barracks series of videos on U.S. military bayonets by examining some M9 and the Marine Corps OKC-3S bayonets. In recent years these bayonets have become available on the surplus market and are good additions for any bayonet collector of U.S. arms.

I like the serrations on the OKC-35. Much more useful than the saw back. Nice work showing these, thanks.

And thanks again for taking the time to view!
I was going to buy an M9 until I investigated the internal tang system which I found to be a weak impractical system. I made my own custom bayonet from a bowie knife blade and M9 guard, butt., and black walnut scales. It fits on my Mossberg 590 military shotgun very well and is very imposing.

I haven't opened up and looked at my M9s, but they're for a collection anyway and not for real world use by myself. I've seen people carrying the M9 as an outdoors knife while hiking and backpacking. The M9, I've read, was based originally on a Buck Knives commercial knife. Thanks for watching!
Was there ever an M8 Knife? I know there is an m8 sheath, but I have never found a M8 bayonet or knife. And I've enjoyed all of your, videos on knives and bayonets.

I' haven't found mention of a U.S. M8 knife or bayonet in any of the resources I use to research my own collection. There is one site I found that listed a ""M8 knife" for sale, but it really looked like a WW2 M4 fighting knife in a M8 scabbard. Thanks for watching all the videos!

I like to say, "Any rifle with a bayonet lug should have the bayonet!" Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
