U.S. Deploys 100 New Tank Transporters to Move M1 Tanks Quickly in Europe
#tank #m1abrams #m1a2
Deployed about a hundred "M1300/M1302 Enhanced Heavy Equipment Transporter Systems (EHETS)" for a convoy of M1 Abrams tanks, in the U.S. Army Prepositioned Stock-2 site in Zutendaal, Belgium.
The EHETS will replace the M1070/M1000 Heavy Equipment Transporter System (HETS) and consists of an M1300 tractor (M1070A1 modified to reduce and relocate weight to achieve European road permits) and an eight-axle M1302 semi-trailer capable of worldwide transport.
The EHETS primary mission is to transport an M1A2 Abrams tank and other combat vehicles weighing up to 90 tons.

It is 1914 all over again. Young people seem to be genuinely pushing for war. Which may not come surprising as this age group has been generally susceptible for falling for tales about good and evil and hence has been always rather easily convinced to join a fight instead of trying to negotiate, even if it was for a necessary bad deal. Growing up in today’s faceless, remote digital interaction and 2 years of pandemic isolation boredom must not have been helpful either. Young people probably never in history had this much influence and power in shaping their future as they have now. And look what they are doing with it cheering and pushing for war.

@noobster4779
Жыл бұрын
Or, like every army ever....they could use trains to transport tanks Transporting 70 ton tanks isnt some high magic, it happens all the time over europe. You only use the trucks for the "final step" from the train station to the barracks. So if the USA would want to deliver tanks to Ukraine they only have to put Abrams on a ship (any civilian freight ship could do that no problem), sail to Amsterdam, put it on a train and then to the Ukranian border. The US military needs to stop acting as if europe is the Kuwait desert...there is a shitload of logistical infrastructure here and nearly every country has the means to transport heavy vehicles like MBTs....because they use Leopard 2s....that are barely lighter then then Abrams. And if the USA would want to help Ukraine ASAP they could just fly tanks to the polish ukranian border by transport planes. Again, its not that hard. The US military has amde up all kinds of redicilous excuses to not send Abrams to Ukraine and now they are hiding behind "our 40 year old uranium armor is top secret" bullshit....Moscow and Beijing have their blueprints for decades. Instead there are still 2000+ Abrams in the texan desert while ukraine gets slaughtered day after day....

Anyone who disparages or insults the US military is either one of two things a) completely un-informed or b) just negative and gets off on making others wrong no matter how ignorant they are.... I worked with the US Military (I was a US diplomat with the Dept of State) in Afghanistan for 2 years on forward operating bases. I lived and worked with them, side by side, every day, all day. I can say with complete authority that the USA military is a highly professional, educated, organized, hard working, focused and respectful culture and organization. It was amazing to see them close up and how impressive and effective they were. Please do not mistake the US civilian government with the US military, they are not the same, nor the successes or failures of the wars they have fought. All of this is squarely on the countries supposed leadership ( for the last 40 years). If our military was unleashed on ANY adversary they would be crushed, it is as simple as that.
I am not clear whether these tanks are for Ukraine or for general deterrence along the eastern border. Either way they are very impressive. Only America can make an entry with such grace and professionalism and at the same time the message is; Don't mess with US. Hats off to Uncle Sam.

The United States already has over 6600 battle tanks. Why are we BUILDING 31 more to send to Ukraine ? Ukraine doesn’t need 31 brand spankin new tanks from us. We have hundreds sitting in army depots in California and Louisiana. Why not send those? We can’t afford this

@@carryfreak5059 tf are you talking about building? Where have they said they're building new ones and sending them? Of course they're sending ones already in storage, the whole 'it'll take a few months' is more than likely a lie to throw the Russians off the scent a little bit

The complexity of transporting military equipment that weighs as much as the M1 is laid out for us in this informative video. It is easy to say Ukraine needs some battle tanks, which they do, but to get them their and train all the necessary personnel to load, transport and mechanic --maintain these bad babies is a lot more involved then the average person thinks.

That's just the Americans. Speculation the Abrams being sent to Ukraine will be new but custom. I'm surprised that the US isn't sending refurbished early versions or maybe that's the same thing they're describing. But the Leopards being promised will arrive months earlier, possibly as early as March for the first few. And, countries like Poland are probably in a position to possibly transport some Leopards even earlier. Questions then are whether Ukrainian tankers are ready and trained to operate them or need more time and how long it'll take to set up logistical supply lines.
