If you buy a electric bicycle from OEM they probably developed the frame for load of one person only. In this case it is not recommended to retrofit a pillion carrier. You can prefer to retrofitting a normal cycle designed for two members in to a electric cycle. However, the motor will be rated for one person only and with two person your range and speed will get affected. All this is required only if you seriously always want to carry your friend in a bicycle.
