    Your a great trainer. Every video has a solid understanding. I see so many "busy work" trainiers that charge a lot of money for complicated nonsense that you can't ever use in sparring.

    One thing I learned from an older gentleman named Carl who trained with Ali in Louisville Kentucky with his original trainer Freddie before Ali was famous. I’m paraphrasing but the gist is this “When you bob to the body no takes advantage of the body everyone is a headhunter, you’re already there might as well shoot a straight right hand to that body and weave with a left hook to the chin. A hook and a uppercut is a anchor punch it will stop a man when he follows you” he also showed us the rope a dope which is cool experience to learn from someone in that era.

    I'm also short at 1.73m and the peek a boo style is really a comfortable style for me. I hit the bag for exercise but it's nice to learn more especially when you live in a violent country like ours (South Africa) where it could save your life someday. I see with this style, Tyson also used to work the body a lot. You being a boxer will be able to tell me how effective is it? And also does it matter if it's left hook to the liver or right hook to the spleen which does more damage or do both do equal amounts of damage? Thanks, love your videos, I'm subscribed.

    Part of Mike Tyson's use of this technique, is using the duck close to his opponent to slip a punch, followed by springing up and countering his oppenent with a deadly punch. This is because the power is all in the legs, and springing up off the legs drives momentum into the punch. Iron Mike sometimes even jumps off his feet!

  • @kdhansome
    @kdhansome3 жыл бұрын

    I just watched a video today on footwork. And the said Tyson stance was sqaure so that both hands had power. To include squating to duck a punch. So if you worried bout power when ducking, it's your foot work.

    Another advantage that I saw with this ducking is, it's a feint in itself. If you're used to throwing body jabs or you conditioned your opponent to see uppercut movements, this is a good bait, too.

    When I used vertical bobing or when it is done to me. I noticed the power comes from leaving and coming back up in the sight picture first punch sets up a walk through power 2. Or what ever chosen. So the second hits were the power generated. But I'm tall so ducking gets my face messes up😀

    Thank you JT. Would you say the peekaboo style is the hardest in boxing. Mike said himself he was never the same physical condition as 86-87 due to lifestyle, drugs etc. Is this why Mike's peak dominance wasn't as long other greats?
