Thanks Hali for sticking up for another dude. Your a good dude.
Since he was that far out there, if he had taken a dribble then Vanderbilt would have had time to at least kind of contest the shot. So I understand why he shot it once he got the ball in that spot. My issue is, he had no defender on him before getting the ball, so there was no need for him to be so far back. I think he should have spotted up at the three point line.

Still poor shot selection! Poole played a good game to that point, but that was kinda the point. The Lakers all game played back on everybody but Steph and Klay, because outside of those guys the warriors don’t have great shooters. Most of them are trending toward average. Poole can hit those on occasion, but in clutch time the only guys making those deep shots consistently are Steph and Dame. It’s a very short list for a reason.

The problem with that shot is why is he standing that far away from the 3pt line. He wanted to take the a difficult 3, when he didn't have to. This is one of the reasons Poole's 3pt percentage has been so bad this season. He typically knocks down good 3pt shots, but he often takes alot of unnecessary bad 3pt shots. He thinks he's Steph, but Steph is simply just trying to get the best 3pt shot that is available to him, whereas Poole is pretty reckless

Agreed. Its not the shot. Its the starting point. If draymond wasn't there, then his positioning makes sense. Poole COULD have been positioned closer to the line. Surely a few feet in increases the %. I am not sure about standing closer to the line would have drawn Lebron out to contest. He was a decent defender in his younger days, but at this age and after 47 min game, he is not contesting that in Poole's face.
@method_acceptance

Great take, you got it 100%. If Kerr keeps refusing to give Poole a reality check… the Warriors will waste away the rest of Curry’s prime if they don’t trade this guy.
As someone who has been frustrated with Jordan this whole season, I don’t have that big of a problem with this shot. Maybe he could have dribbled it up closer to the 3 point line but he risks taking himself out of rhythm or someone coming over to contest. I don’t necessarily think there were a ton of other options, certainly none that were guaranteed, even if he’d run down the clock a little more. He also can make that shot, he’s just been inconsistent all season.

Look at Tyrese now😂
For me the most important thing at the moment is to make a quick shot whether is 2 or 3, so you could possibly have one more possession and more chance to win the game. If the game was tie that would be another story. If Poole takes one more dribble he would face AD and Vanderbilt 2 elite defenders. The look was clear why not? Tyrese knows it cause he is the new pointgod. Even he is not in playoffs it’s impressive enough to keep Pacers competitive. Another thing is, Green could’ve done something like setting up the screen for Poole or sprint down to the other side to clear the space at perimeter instead of just standing there being a non threat at offense.
Tim Leglers analysis on this was perfect the play was broken from the jump but a better shot is still possible…but at the end of the day every shooter in the league is practicing that shot 100 times a workout in the summer

For reference, Russell Westbrook, who we all call a bad three point shooter and who was left open all year from deep, shot 35.6%. Poole has regressed dramatically and been a massive negative for the warriors all year. They are literally better when he’s not playing (negative box plus minus), not like Lillard who still makes his team better (positive box plus minus) And yes, any dribble would’ve been picked up…but he shouldn’t have been that far out to begin with!! i feel like this is exactly what everyone would've been saying about damian lillard's shot vs PG if it didn't go in... if poole makes this shot, he's a hero; instead he missed and everyone is a monday morning quarterback acting like he had no chance. i get it, he aint steph, but hes made that shot before. props to him for having the confidence to take it. of course, i'm a lakers fan, so you know i'm happy lol. if they want, in game 2, chase arena should just hand out courtside seats to 2 baddies. then poole will go off for 51 just to 1-up steph lol

Poole needs 10 years of BUCKETS to come close to Damian Lillard
That was Steph’s 2018 Bron game 1 moment😂😂
I'm with Tyrese on this one. I was mad at the shot when I first watched it but on replay, that's a shot worth taking. Had he take a dribble or positioned himself closer to the line, either Jared or Lebron would be on him.

poole shoulda punch draymond for not even attempting to score, that's why the defense can double him, steph and klay coz they knew draymond wont do sh.t and pass
If I’m being 100% honest you need a 3 and you have Draymond Green on the floor. I can’t blame Poole frfr. The Lakers had the Warriors in a tough spot. Either call timeout and make subs which allows the Lakers to set up their defense or stay with your team and deal with the lack of spacing.

I love the support ‼️
By some people’s logic, if Poole was wide open at half court…just let it fly. 9 seconds was plenty of time to reverse the ball and swing the ball back to Green standing at the top of the key, who would have then swung it over to Curry for the shot. Which was probably the very play that Steve Kerr called. Young dude needs to realize who is the real star on the team. And he ain’t it !!!! That shot had hero ball written all over it.

You could do all that stuff and hope to get a wide open shot, or you can just take the wide open shot. People really crying because he didn't take a step in. He an NBA player Curry should take that, Lillard should take that, Poole should take that, Malik Monk should take that, every NBA who can shoot threes should take that.
"Thats why you're here with us" Brutal 💀
i love how Tyrese stood on bidness 😂😂
What really costed them the game, was the Shot he took before this play. The contested Floater/layup on AD. If they get a better look on that play, they wouldn’t have needed to shoot a 3 to keep them in the game.
A classic example of just because you can doesn't mean you should
He was open but there were several better options. Take a dribble in, drive and possibly kick out to the corner, hell even just drive for the layup. There was enough time, and the warriors had timeouts that meant didn't need a 30+ footer in that moment

@@BornCrowned_ right people who are blaming Poole aren’t real fans because that shot consider what happen last night was probably what we wanted. @@RecapRico like I said he been making that shot 10 feet behind the line for 2 1/2 seasons now. It’s only considered bad because he missed. Dude even made a running three in that game. When you a great shooter and your hot distance don’t matter. Just because your closer doesn’t mean the shot is automatically easier. Ppl aren’t robots.
Channing know he wrong for that lol "that's why you're here with us" 😂
Jordan Poole has got one of those the old guy thats been around since the 70s type of faces
I really hate this type of stuff honestly! We not gonna act like Jordan Poole can’t hit that shot! He had it going last night. Part of the reason GSW offense is so fluent so attractive is because of the freedom they are allowed to play with. I’ve heard the media this season call him”Steph Curry Like” shit Skip Bayless even went as far as too say Steph was becoming jealous of him which is “STUPID”… one thing GSW goes by is to “KEEP SHOOTING” and that’s what shooters do

@@user-gc1wj8tt2p And you clearly don’t watch the Warriors. Every single Warriors fan believes that was a good shot selection. Poole would usually hit a wide open shot this deep with 40-45% accuracy. And he already showed last finals he has ice in his veins so the pressure barely effected him. If this shot was drained, EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. would be talking about how stupid the Lakers were for giving someone as deadly as Poole a wide open look.

@@user-gc1wj8tt2p I don’t know why you think that but I watch GSW faithfully… JP had a damn good game last night but all that goes out the window because of that one shot and being honest that shouldn’t even be the shot being talked about. The shot he took after hitting a 3 and GSW was back on offense he pulled up from damn near the center logo. I personally feel that was a worse shot than the last… my only point is to highlight that that is GSW style of play has been and always will it’s beautiful and so good to watch when it works and hurts to watch when it doesn’t but as a fan of GSW you except either outcome

@@wendzbrand I think GSW lost on the defensive end. offensively they were fine for the most part got good shots but lacked free throw attempts because of the way they clogged the lane… if they can limit AD and get to the free throw line next game I think it’ll be a different outcome cause those shots will be there

Why ain’t Kerr call timeout 💀

Because it also gives LAL the time to set their (#1 ranked)defense, and either force an open dunk or a contested 3 from Poole again. It was no accident the corner man didn’t rotate up onto Poole, like is normal in the regular season. The defensive plan was to get give Poole open shots, and live with the consequences either way.

@@cjwrench07 I understand the Lakers stand point. I’m not mad with Poole taking the shot. Me personally, I’m still taking the chance to set something up in a timeout. Regardless of what happens. Instead, Poole had to rush a deep 3 and bricked it. Feel bad for him
